I've always been drawn to decor like this. No symmetry, yet symmetric. I find it much easier to decorate and find things that "match" when using certain textiles and designs. A lot of paisley and colorful prints. I've made my apartment living room into 2. A living room area with musical instruments including a piano and guitar, with the opposite side including a workout area slash computer table area. It flows with the funky rock fireplace built in, and is warm and inviting with a lighted ceiling tapestry. It is a difficult room to decorate due to the odd shape, so I decided to go "odd", and find it works perfect! I love and live boho. My husband,who was a huge wrap around leather couch person is now a huge "hobo" fan. (Our personal joke). When people walk into our apartment, their first words are a breathless wow. People feel calm and at home as soon as they walk in. I wouldn't and couldn't imagine any other way to decorate. (Old hippie at heart)!
The most colorful of these rooms really grab me. And all the plants! I'm so tired of beige on white on gray NY apartments that look like nobody lives there, or would want to.
Love the birghtest, most colourful rooms ! You would think that a really bright clash of colours would be too chaotic for the eye, but to me it is very calming. I have a fair amount of colour and plants in my house, but I want more of both !
I’d like to know the age of the residents of the homes , I’d like to see how boho changes as they age. When your youthful and have great joints you can sit on the floor for hours or on really soft or hard cushions but as you age not so much. I’d just like to see how it changes over time.
I make sure to have seating that accommodates everyone from my mother, to the younger kiddies. My hubby and I are late 40s and 50. I've got twin 9 yr olds. It appeals to all ages and all ages can find comfort. I personally do not find one couch comfy but my kids love it. And it looks beautiful.

Southwestern does not look bohemian to me. Bohemian is cozy and colorful with lots of texture and patterns. Some of these rooms felt cold and uninviting.
