I’ve linked your primary YT of that exercise in my Guitar Forum. Where I store all my notes from 5 decades on how to learn etc. Thank you so much, Tomosan.
I am still lacking a systematic approach to learning aka a practice system like this. I think this is what a lot of intermediate guitar players need. I taught myself major and minor triads on all string sets just by ear but I still think there is so much missing in my approach. It's time for Guitar Wisdom, i think. Thank you as always for the guidance and ceaseless effort to bring first-class guitar education to the people. Arigatou goseimaszu Fujita-Sensei
Thanks for sharing! Best way is not to visualize triads too much! Think about note name, intervals etc. 7-days free trial offer at Guitar Wisdom now until 2/18th. Don't miss it! You're very welcome!
I was doing the beginner exercises for couple weeks even tho I’m playing guitar over 10 years and I have to say that I’m glad to fix the gaps in basics, because this one is much easier right now to practice, concept is the same it’s just another layer. I feel that a lot of people might be discourage to do basics but hey guys, it really works ! Concentration is the key even tho it seems trivial it’s not as easy ! Thank you Tomo!
Thanks for sharing! I still practice beginner level simple ones now! Don't do all. Just even one topic everyday for a long time (many days!) No need to worry how long (hours) to practice. Even 2 minutes!
Oh man! Tomo this practice info is SPEAKING to me. Former chef 33 yrs teaching cooking fundamentals at CIA, this has changed my musical life. We are taught incorrectly as guitar players. Thank you so much for sharing how to work the guitar as the beautiful instrument it really is. ALWAYS about fundamentals. I never knew!! Thank you Chef!
I love cooking! So happy to hear that! So awesome! You're very welcome! Guitar practice could go so wrong with self-taught. As if you are believing that more salt & more sugar can make better taste!
Thanks for this lesson (Domo arigatou). I subscribed to Guitar Wisdom a couple of weeks ago. Now, this lesson gives me a study roadmap for a couple of months, it will take some time to internalize in my head. Your channel and Guitar Wisdom is the best place to learn guitar the right way. I was really stuck with all these patterns for many years. I am really hopeful that in 1 year I can make more progress than in the years before.
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much for subscribing my Guitar Wisdom. Good job! I am making these at my RU-vid channel as supplemental material for my Guitar Wisdom subscribers.
Hello tomo and everybody.....from Paris FRANCE !!! I learn since 2 years so I am a beginner. Great to have met you , your kindness and your super clear teaching. I have one question : why do you use a pick instead fingers. Thank you

Thank you Sensei Tomo, I've just noticed something in this video, I was having a problem muting the strings when doing your finger picking exercises and realized because I like to play at times without a pick and use my thumb and fingers when playing that I also had my fingers open(extended) when using the pick. I noticed your fingers when doing the exercises in a closed position and that was the reason, I couldn't get my palm down to do string muting. It is a bit different, and I will have to practice with fingers closed when using the pick, but it was nice. My noise level has just gone down tremendously.
Thanks for sharing! That's very common with setting. Good job noticing it! You see... noticing something that you did not notice before =YOU ARE IMPROVING! Thank you so much!

Thank you TOMO sensei. Always the big fan of your practice routine series(5min/15min/7exercises,etc).And the all new beginner&intermediate&advanced collection is also so great and full of wisdom. To be honest its the method i've been search for since the day i took my guitar from the year of 2008. You know, before i found your channel, i do only tablature. Not knowing the music note. From the past two years i took the modern method volume 1 , but not knowing how to get into it better. Then maybe its the fortune or may be the destiny helps those who help themselevs, I found your relevant videos about the book and the other classical quality videos. You share the wisdom that not to stick in one paper BUT build up the routine with the MUSIC. And more, you share the wisdom to get well with our body, mind and life. Your are the best music teacher and the master. Thank you and thank to the Internet for spreading your method. Thank you so much Mr.Tomo.
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much! I teach guitar! Not just show how to play exactly. Guitar Wisdom can really help many guitar players. No need tabs, no need to memorize! More freedom later!
Even after 50+ years of playing on string instruments I still have to whatch that I don't leave my Thumb behind as I go up the neck. For so long it was my Anchor.... Practice Practice.. Thank You so much, Tomosan.
Thanks for sharing! That's why I only introduce chromatic scales on 4&3 strings. You're very welcome! I just made Advanced Practice Routine for next week!
@@TomoFujitaMusic I enjoy bringing up issues I have had or I do have so others can not feel left out or "embarrased". Also maybe give ideas for content later. I learned reading a treble staff so many decades ago I have forgotten how difficult it may be for others. Be well......
Im struggling with Timing. at times i think im ok, try to sing or hum a long and i have timing issues all over the place, especially trying to loop song etc i think i skipped the metronome steps and in that take note folks don't skip lessons to learn a song or you can play the song ok but not much else lol

the rhythm of your guitar has the spirit of the Japanese spirit in your playing. For one that lives here, the natural beat of the Japanese heart is a bit different when it comes to playing music. I always seem to hear the Hirajoshi scale behind your thoughts when you play. Do you miss the Japanese Live clubs here in Japan?
Your Guitar Wisdom sounds good. I just started playing guitar at the young age of 67. Currently I am taking private lessons and I am wondering. Is it a good idea to take Guitar Wisdom at the same time as my private lessons? I fear that I may encounter conflicting teaching. I have 8 more weeks with my current teacher.
Thank you so much! Now free trial offer until 2/18th. Yes! Not only so much valuable information but also you can test yourself with Guitar Wisdom. Do what you like to do! Only $14.99 a month subscription.

Thank you this is so helpful to let a person know where they are and how to improve skills and move forward through this intermediate stage…Great addition to my in person lessons 😊
Tomo, your brief example of the modes completely clarified the practical application and concept for me. I was taught the modes incorrectly and never really understood how to implement them. Thank you!
So happy to hear that. Simply just better teach as simple Major scale with intervals. Modes as name .. something difficult or something special.. words are making something more difficult .. teach guitar is not easy at all! Easy to teach what it is.
Hi, Tomo. Thank you for this wonderful, interesting and very useful lesson. Your exercises work and it's great. I'm really looking forward to continuing.
You got nearly half a million subscribers, your exercises are technically structured and you are a capable guitar player - so who am I to criticise you, but for me you are simply "too Japanese" in your methods and rather a guitar instructor for advanced players. I am in my mid-40ies and I know, as a teenager I would have quit straight away with you. I got your reasoning for not showing tabs, but as a beginner, you IMHO need something to clutch on to visually. Also, the exercises you show here build up on your previous beginner's one, which would have been far too monotonous for me. All in all, learning guitar with you, one must have a lot of ambition or be more advanced in musical understanding and/or guitar. You are definitely not the guitar teacher for the average Western teenager being interested in casual play. Which you don't have to, ofc. - Nonetheless, for the advanced student, you give fine hints...which I kinda have to cherrypick out of your vids. ;)

A Genius often takes a different approach I agree you must be extremely dedicated to lean from him.I don't think being Japanese has anything to do with instruction.THE INFORMATION,AND WHOLE VIDEO,WOULD BE THE SAME INFO IF HE WAS Italian or German. He is a professor at Berkeley, Enough said. He is over my head but he is correct, I might not understand all of it, but there is something to learn from him

Good technique is not easy to obtain that's why most guitar players easily to stuck with same playing skills & more gears! Foundation is not flashy but it is so important. People normally understand this when you hear someone in same room. Maybe go back a few steps back is normally a great choice! Play super slow! Don't worry about tempo at all.
@@TomoFujitaMusic this was amazing! I have had a few guitar teachers on and off over ten years and no one ever explained these basics so patiently and clearly. I can see how this will improve everything. Simple and small, but big effect! Thank you for sharing it.
