Molten mode’s rewards were (intended) to be decreased to 400 coins. Plus, Intermediate was originally meant to completely replace Molten instead of being ranked above it. Also explain going from 25 waves to 40 waves to 30 waves to 40 waves.
Intermediate sucks because of slime and especially tank attribute fucking everything, and its just pure spam slop that gives a middle finger to towers like hunter and ranger.
Moltens gold reward was also reduced from 500 to 400 when intermediate mode released this sucked a lot it kinda forced you to prefer this mode to molten because faster and more rewards it got reverted later on
intermediate isn’t much harder then molten.. i still beat it with just militant and commander also the rewards as you said are shit… inter should be 650 and idk make fallen 800
My current thoughts on the recent TDS updates; Sorry for the long post but I wanted to air out my thoughts on the recent updates. This first one is crazy but I got the Alex jones level conspiracy theory that the Game balancers are the reason why most of the recent updates were horrible. I mean if you look at the recent patient zero update & consumables update people like People like elite and photon and elite jumping to the defense of the updates a day or two after they drop. Even the game balancers were making remarks about how golden mode was just a copy of fallen back when intermediate mode came out. (Even though practically every mode is a copy cat of each other, Cough cough Pizza party, Badlands, Polluted wastelands 2.) There is very little variety to begin with in TDS apart say 4 base modes (Not referring to intermediate I'm referring to Hardcore), The new PVP mode & occasional event mode. looking at the community is clear a lot of people did want golden mode to come back yet what we got was intermediate. Which Visually and mechanically is very different compared to most of the other modes in the game even comparing it to something similar like PW2. Personally I wouldn't of had an issue with Intermediate mode if it were treated like a side mode comparative to the fallen side modes like Pw2. But because it not only is taking the place of a main game mode its held to a lot higher standard by the community practically wanting it to be as lovable as the original golden mode back when TDS was much more community driven & less serious. As for consumables, There isn't much to say. I simply don't think they were a good implementation to TDS which has a major focus on Strategy rather than pulling random stuff out of your pocket and throwing it at the zombies. Commander rework was also pretty bad as well nerfing it really hard and in return we got buffs that weren't really wanted to say the least. Good thing they reverted some of the nerfs. I honestly like it, if only there were less filler. It's way more accessible to newer players, considering that you pretty much needed farm to beat any gamemode before this. The whole reward argument isn't very convincing since I'd say it is easier than molten in terms of the tower requirements (you just need a decent DPS and splash damage and maybe a spawner tower.) I give it an 8/10, but more interesting enemies would land it much higher since the existing ones are just "look big hp number" and don't have any abilities. I can always count on TDS youtubers to have the most shitty opinions on anything fr.

@@Zanophane_Gaming yeah nah i just tried this and lost on wave 40 to some insane RNG, molten boss was summon spamming so hard and that is another factor that makes intermediate easier regardless, that is one tower than can solo molten on its own, no other tower can do that so i argue that bringing busted towers into this doesn't work
Max a golden pyro, and dont farm unless you bring cowboy, waves 11-17 are too hard for farming, and farming past those waves isnt even worth it, since the gamemode has so little waves
