Intramolecular forces bond atoms to one another within a molecule. These range from metallic to covalent to ionic bonds. Intermolecular forces attract or bonds molecules to another molecule. These consist of London dispersion, dipole-induced, ion-induced, dipole-dipole, hydrogen bonding and ion-dipole. The greater the strength, the greater the ability to dissolve and break or separate an element or compound apart.
