There's an ERROR: if you look up on google then AlN melting point is 2200 Celsius degrees while that of MgO is 2852 so the answer at 3:16 is incorrect! If you look at the molecules in terms of Electronegativity then it would make sense because EN of Al is 1.5 and N is 3 => AlN EN difference is 1.5 while EN of Mg is 1.2 and O is 3.5 => MgO EN difference is 2.3, greater than that of AlN which means MgO has greater ion-ion interaction, resulting in its higher melting point. does anybody else's professor just wizz through the content and doesn't actually teach you chemistry so you have to teach yourself everything. and your'e professor is just there for complicated questions and have zero tolerance for simple questions :).
