On We Farm With Junk we use the International 1460 to open up the end rows and begin 2020 corn harvest. Things are running pretty smoothly with corn!

Those old IH combines were warriors. They just flat worked.

This one shelled corn like nobody’s business! It shipped down the road last year and making somebody a good machine now.

So I assume you can use the same combine for beans, corn and other crops. Are there internal adjustments made to the machine to harvest different plants? BTW, you’re EXACTLY the same when you’re in pain or when you’re happy!

Most people use the same machine for all of their crops, they are built and designed for that. There are some changes that have to happen on the machine where the threshing happens but for most combines it is not a major job. I try to be consistent, even if I feel like I am about to die!!! I am doing much better now, starting to get healed up.

I wouldn't complain about having older equipment. I bought a brand new tractor and had more problems with that then with my older tractors. And the new stuff you can't fix yourself because company's right laws. So I finally sold and bought a older one that was way more cheaper and can work on.

I think its that way with most things. There is a lot to be said for being able to work on things yourself. Unfortunately I think there is a timeframe when parts become scarce and working on that equipment becomes a lot more difficult. However, in the end it would be pretty cool to own an X9
