International Harvester IH Trucks, CargoStar, LoadStar and L, R and S Series, Pickups, CabOver, Dump Truck and Flat Bed, along with a Short Bus and Panel Van. The Collection Includes an R 180 Diesel CabOver Road Tractor, a CargoStar 1850 Diesel Cabover Dump Truck, a LoadStar 1800 Short School Bus and an L 110 Panel Van.
There are 6 videos in all. Use the links to move from one video to the next. These trucks belong to my brother (I am not the IH expert and I know some of my commentary was incorrect) so any comments will be appreciated. My brother will be sending the replies.
We intend on making more videos in the future as the trucks are repaired, so Subscribe to keep up with our progress.

The "B" does NOT stand for diesel. It denotes the 2nd generation of the Cargostar series. Engine(s) are basically identified by the 3rd digit of the model number in most instances. 2 = gas engine 3 = small displacement diesel. This was used for only for a limited time,pre 1971 iirc correctly. 5 = mid range diesel 7 = large bore diesel I was an IH partsman '76 to '88.

I love those old Cargostars, they are like a mini Transtar. That 3208 should make that little Cargostar fly. That is a lot of motor.

Cabovers rule! 🥰 I’ve seen a few of those IH around...not many though. They were popular back in WV when I was growing up. They kind of looked tough and cool at the same time. I think they still required 2 batteries to crank them properly.

I sure glad am that you have saved those trucks from the scrap yard,it seems as if most people want newer equipment these days.I have recently purchased a c900 ford[ex firetruck] which is a similar type truck as you know.keep up the good work on those ole Int. trucks. These COE's are just Cooooooooooooooooool. I fell in lust with one of these several years ago. It was RED, Gas and had a short Flatbed. It may have had a 5 Wheel on it prior to the Flatbed. Someone put a lot of work into the Cab. It was straight, solid and Freshly Painted. The Interior was clean, but used. I kept calling the Phone number on the For Sale Sign, but never reached anyone. It disappeared a month or two later.

Those are my favorite model of trucks. My uncle had one that was a box truck for his food distribution company. I got to ride in it many times through the years. This video brings back some good memories!.

A company I worked for had two of these they bought in the early 80s used, no idea where they came from but anyway, I had one pull the old death wobble on me one day while crossing the old paseo bridge ov er the Missouri river. I barely kept it under control a d it shook so hard the fire extinguisher shook out of its bracket and hit the floor, losing the safety pin and discharging all over the inside of the cab and me. Never drove that truck again. They replaced both shortly after with brand new Ford LN 8000s if I recall correctly.

The 1970s facelift really improved the look of the cabins on these - the early ones were a bit blank.

I wonder if that six-banger was considered superior to either the Cat 3208 or IH's own 9.0L diesels (both V8s)?

The white Cargostar with the 3208 engine is a 1975 to 1980 model.

Love the dump truck always liked the cargo star had them over here in uk used by USAF as semi trucks moving stock between bases I have the Bedford tk artic truck (semi truck) which has a similar look to it although we never saw the international in big numbers over here they did built some in the 1960s at a plant in Doncaster Yorkshire England Loadstars with Perkins 6354 six cy diesels both rigid and artic truck up to 20 ton gross weight 'any way nice trucks

I have a 1979 cargostar 1850b that was a prior USAF truck. Someone put a bed from a 2.5ton on it at some point. It has 36k original miles. Cool old truck

my dads got a 78 cargo star, been sitting a long time but ran great when it was running, been sitting awhile but it wouldnt take much to get it running, anything you can tell me about this thing? or know anywhere where i couldnt find out some stuff about it?

I have a 1970 cargostar 1710a with a dump bed. Selling it and wondering what it is worth? I would like $3,600 does anyone know what the cargostar value is with a dump bed?
