They were spanish soldiers dude. Granada, vamos vamos, fuego fuego fuego, tienes una granada?.... You hear them speak also in english, but I think that the spanish sargeant even speaks in german, he says at the begining FEUER FEUER FEUER!!! FUEGO FUEGO FUEGO!!! (FIRE FIRE FIRE)

Ukrainians don't use combat shotguns for trench clearing I guess. You all should try it out. I have a model 1400 Winchester 12 ga. auto. with an 18" barrel and it could do the job I know. There is a shotgun round out there that instead of pellets it fires a spray of fleschettes, which are these little steel needles like sewing needles. That is a wicked round. Not sure how a doctor would deal with that kind of wound.

What you have to remember is, with the Legion, most of their members have been in active combat around the world. Whereas, their adversities, have probably only had a few days training. Therefore, if you know you're going to be overun. What's your best outcome? Flee.

Do you really think that they would waste all that ammo in a position clear of enemies? At the begining you can hear shots from a sniper rifle, they surprised the russkies, don't let them shot back, then they get closer and threw grenades. It is perfect executed asaault. In this unit, there are all combat vets from around the world. If you had training + near peer combat experience, you wouldn't be confused.
