But they DID have surveillance on the house. That's how they finally got in contact with the roommate. They couldn't have him under surveillance prior to that because they didn't have probable cause for a warrant. At that point they didn't have any proof that Mir was guilty or even a suspect. He was a person of interest only because he had purchased a firearm that matched the weapon used. If you remember there were over one thousand of those same firearms sold in that area in the previous year. That means there were technically 1000+/- other people of interest at that point. No judge is going to grant a warrant for something that flimsy. It wasn't until the detectives made contact with the roommate, located the firearms, and had them tested that Mir was confirmed to be the culprit.

It still amazes me, especially reading some of the comments that in the year 2021 a lot of folks across the pond don't understand that decades of US meddling and belligerent foreign policy - particularly across the Asia & the Middle East (you could add Central & South America, Africa, the Balkans etc..)has been the catalyst for a lot of the hate it receives. However, that will never excuse cowardly terrorist acts and I empathise with anyone who has suffered loss or injury as a result of these attacks or questionable occupations. The politicians who instigate these situations never seem to be properly held to account, even when years later it comes out in the wash that the 'premise' for war....e.g. WMD's, that the public was sold on was a pile of BS. In fact, they usually get a seat on the board of an oil, munitions or banking group..... ironically some even become highly paid 'Peace Envoys' or diplomats.

I would have made a gr8 CIA operative - I used 2 own a copy of the CIA black book aka the improvised munitions handbook - and I made the match gun illustrated within it........but I made an improvement and later used a steel ball bearing as the projectile instead of a cut-down steel bolt - the bolt tumbles in the air when fired, but this does not matter with a ball bearing, because it maintains the same profile as it goes thru the air.......................I also used 360 match heads as propellant instead of the recommended 60 for a more powerful bang.........

America doesn't have a gun violence problem. Firearms are inanimate objects: they do not suddenly load themselves, then suddenly aim themselves at a person, then magically fire themselves. What America has is an extremely violent minority problem . People who support and promote gun control as the solution to this problem will point to the country of Japan as the the model that America should follow Japan has one of the lowest murder rates and they will make the claim that because it is nearly impossible to legally purchase a firearm in Japan see therefore draconian gun control laws work. Conservatives will usually site the country of Switzerland which also has and extremely low murder rates but every Swiss citizens of military age is required by law to keep a fully automatic weapon in their home. The one thing that both of these two countries have in common is that neither country has a violent minority population. Switzerland is 99.9 percent responsibility White people and Japan is 97 percent responsibility Asian

@13:17 - that is most certainly NOT an AK47 round. That looks more like an 8mm Mauser or a 30-06. Some type of .30 caliber.

It's to help type for longer periods of time. The hands are at a more natural state, it helps reduce the stress and lower the chances of getting an injury like tendinitis.

The hypocrisy in the end, bringing guys to justice. What about bringing to justice the Americans that have killed people abroad, like that pilot that killed a bunch of people in a cablecar in Italy, and that female that ran over a cyclist in the UK? It's justice for me but not for thee, right? Bunch of hypocrites...
