No international student should be allowed to be in a 2 year program... a lot of these "students" end up dropping out and find a way to stay permanently in Canada
@LLandS18

@@122jawimmigration Canada. Has a lot of data on international students. That they come here solely to either have children. So their children our citizens. Under Canada's naturalized citizen law. Or they come here to Mary someone from their community that already has either landed immigrant status or citizenship. In fact, it's been proven time and time again that over 72% of them come here in order to receive citizenship. This isn't about racism. It's about facts and statistics. Asking for a source when you have the internet and you can go look these things up. Yourself is kind of a weird thing to do. You can go to immigration Canada and read these statistics yourself. And no, I'm not going to tell you the page. You do it. You're an adult. Figure it out.

@@122jaw Well since I posted data and you took it down. I saw that you complained to RU-vid about my comment. I'll post it again. Try not to be so offended. You have to run to the manager to get it taken down. According to immigration's Canada and stats Canada. The majority of international students come here with the intent of staying. Also there's a high percentage of them that come here and have babies. Because under Canada's naturalization law their child is automatically a Canadian citizen because they were born in Canada. Even though neither of their parents are Canadian citizen. Also, a lot of them come here to get married to somebody who's early established in the country and has either citizenship or landed immigrants status. In fact, that's how we get most of our immigration in this country. The fact that you need to ask for data in the internet generation is ridiculous. You can look at all up online. It's not a a super duper secret. To be completely honest I don't have a problem with immigration. I think we need immigration to run our country. And immigrants. Bring a lot of really great things into this country. But coming to this country under false pretenses is dishonest and quite honestly needs to be kabosched. Also is somebody you had the privilege because that's what it is. I'll privilege to go to a two foreign countries and study you damn well. Better be able to support yourself when you go to that country. In most countries that accept foreign students, you sign a legally binding contract that you will be able to support not only yourself or your. Depending you bring into this country. That you will not rely on food, banks or any social program in that country in order to support yourself. Not that you won't get a job. That's not what they're saying. But you will have the financial means to support yourself in this country. And it's shameful the amount of them that go to food banks. It's so bad that food bank workers and people who run food bank have to tell them they can't come to the food bank. It is a disgrace not only to the country they originate from but to Canada that this is allowed to happen. In fact, in Australia if you're seeing using those kind of social programs as an international student, it is grounds for deportation. And they will deport you. Canada should follow suit. And don't tell me it's not happening. There's thousands of RU-vid videos in foreign languages about how to go to the food bank and get free food. So you can make living in Canada cheaper. Disgusting.

we need to put caps on the immigrants numbers per country of origin, exactly like what the US does. US immigration act of 1990 states that each country is allotted only 7% of the yearly newcomers in the USA. That means a maximum of 45-50 thousand immigrants is allowed from each country. Can I just point out that an overwhelming number of international students enrolling in schools that do not provide residence also has a big influence on the rent and housing market? Landlords have been charging international students illegal deposits and requiring them to sign illegal contracts because a lot of them don’t know local tenancy laws. This also raises the rent for domestic students and it’s just harder for students in general to find non-exploitative housing during their degree. The better the location of the house, the more predatory and toxic the contracts and rent charges get!

And somebody who studied abroad in both Australia and France. I 100% agree with this. It is a privilege to be in a foreign country and study. It's not there for you to take advantage of the charity that exists. Like going to the food bank. When you come to Canada or any country to study internationally, you sign a legally binding contract that you will be able to support yourself and not rely on any social services. In fact, in some countries that would be grounds to get you kicked out of the country. And rightfully so. It is your job. Your responsibility and there is no excuses for not doing it to make sure you are financially stable enough to come to a country to study. You are not meant to be a financial burden when you arrive in that country. It is beyond shameful that anyone would do this. And I would be ashamed if I found out a Canadian was doing this in a foreign country.

Public colleges here in Canada partner up student recruiting agency like Applyboard in countries India, Philippines, Nigeria etc. to recruit students from these countries. The Reason : government funding amount in public colleges has not increased over the years to cover most public colleges operational expenses and there is restrictions in rising tuition fees for Canadian domestic Students. Well, there is no restriction on how much to charge international students in tuition, this is public college charge 3 to 4 times the amount in tuition for international students (ie, $20,000 - $40,000 per year ) and public colleges gives a 2% - 5% cut of tuition to student recruiters. Most colleges in Canada gets 35% to 70% income from international students tuition. These student recruiting agency over market these public colleges to foreigner to recruiters as many students as possible to maximize their revenue. The educated wealthy and upper middle class in these countries, who can really afford the tuition are not interest to learn in these low ranked public college in Canada, they are only interested in top ranked universities like UofT, UBC etc in Canada. Well, student recruiter market it to low income people in these countries as easy gateway for residency in a western country for higher income. These low income international students will sell everything they have back home to cover the huge tution and come here with little to no money, hoping they get residency in Canada and being able to make the money back.

I've lived in a town in a Canada for 50 yrs. Population 25,000 (near major cities that are diverse/liked). Until 4 years ago, most citizens in my town would RARELY have described our home as a "college town". If ever. Even though the college opened many decades ago. Even though it has always had a good reputation (and many programs). Even though we've liked it a lot. When the college was talked about, it was seen as a place where many minds go to learn every semester (to embrace a career). Plus international students of all races (like our town of numerous races) were seen as adventurers wishing to also learn about our country. Perhaps one day they would wish to stay in our country. Why? Because they grew to like it (and it's people) and wish to remain involved. These thoughts have changed IMMENSELY Since 2019, many long-term citizens feel like our college classrooms and dollar stores and convenience stores and hotels/motels/homes and restaurants have all quickly turned into a BIG immigration system for many (from one particular country especially) wanting PRs. I sound cruel but I'm not a cruel person. I'm just concerned by the high-pace and high-volume (housing prices are SOARING) … and about exactly how things in town are changing too. Because some rich men (mostly from same country) are also very quickly buying all the above places (minus college). AND they are changing things in ways where someway/somehow (by a far margin) eventually the owner benefits most ... followed by people HE trusts (from his birth continent) who REALLY need his help. And silence? Longtime citizens of my town are feeling more and more hurt by their sudden 'firings', by their hard-earned invoices (for completed work) not being paid, by feelings of discrimination in multiple areas, i.e. intangible services. The common denominator is centering around some men. They appear kind, yet occasionally not (in a strange way that's hard to explain). We've seen them not appreciating current staff (especially women). So much so that I Googled "caste system" recently. Something I never ever was interested in doing before. We are meeting students in contract marriages (IELTS spouse). Students who showed Canada they have savings to live off, but it turns out some only borrowed it for the application process. Our food bank and other charity services were advertised on RU-vid by students. Our transit service had to launch strict rules, i.e. lost bus passes registered in your name are now NEVER replaced (unlike before). I'm surrounded by fun citizens who have strived to be kind, racially-diverse-oriented, and WELCOMING people. But now they're not knowing what to think. And the concerned are not all with European roots. Nor without ties to above mentioned country (heck these longterm Canadians often seem the most angry). And all the violence/extortion happening in Ontario and BC this year that's stemming from another country (& making world news) is definitely not helping with any of this. So many In this town are THRILLED by recent caps etc.. Because the biggest thing our town is hoping to continue to avoid is hate crimes. We want EVERYONE here to be ok. While wondering if enough homes/buildings could have prevented a lot of the above (?). PS Many newcomers we've met are great. And we are aware that some wonderful students are probably going through 'degrees of hell' in Canada (which hurts our hearts).

IRCC agent then makes a determination based on a dozen other documents if the student meets the criteria to be approved. While it is true that the approvals they released is excessive, ultimately it was up to IRCC to decide if a permit/visa will be issued. Interesting that was not explained in this report 🤨.
