We were somewhat surprised to discover that we had internet coverage on our recent camping trip in the Algonquin backcountry. We love to go on canoe trips to get away from it all, but it seems that the future is here, for better or for worse. Is it only a matter of time before there is cell and internet coverage everywhere? What do you think about the modernization of the backcountry?
Please note that it is crucial to be prepared in the backcountry. Never assume that you will have cell or internet coverage. Leave a detailed itinerary with a trusted friend or family member and consider bringing a satellite communication device.
