Interstate 10 Across Texas: Sonora to Sheffield 

Amazing how it goes from completely FLAT in some areas then all the sudden......BAM......Mountains! I love Texas!

I love to watch how the land changes as you head west. It goes from blanket covered hills to barren hills. Worth the drive any day.

Interesting thing is in Sonora one sees the dwarf live oaks which quickly vanish from the landscape on the freeway. It must be true that Sonora gets a few more inches of rain than west central Texas.

That where future I-14 does merge with I-10 and Texas state route 290 in Sonora Texas. I-14 will share with I-10 and toward El Paso and I-14 will end at Fort Bliss Military Facility, near the New Mexico State Line. Texas Department of Transportation did approved the new interstate in 2017.

0:51 That rest area there is really your last chance to get in the shade. There aren't too many trees to the west that would provide a lot of shade.

There may still be some cedar in places around Sheffield, but there are no oaks at all.

That stretch of TX290 used to be US290 before I-10 was finished in the area; imagine that road clogged with trucks and cars on those winding curves - woo-hoo!

do you get any cell phone signal out there ?

How long is the trip? (real time) what did use to record the video? settings of the camera? how much space it took? did you set the camera on time lapse or speed it on a video editor?
