Intresting to see how much on I-65 has changed since 2015. The new bridge is open to traffic. Now 265 crosses into Kentucky although I don;t understand why it;s till marked as IN-265 instead of I-265. It appears the 3rd lane is going to continue from exit 9 to exit 16. The 3rd lane in metro Indianapolis now starts in Franklin instead of Greenwood. The Worthsville Rd interchange at exit 97 is open.
dvferyance idk what was more interesting... seeing the completed product or seeing the entire thing midway into construction; especially the Kennedy/Spaghetti junction! I think I have photos up somewhere on Freewayjim's FB group of the whole thing two years ago if you're willing to run a search...
Louisville and Indianapolis are cities that are not that far away. Louisville's metro area only goes up to exit 9. Indianapolis' metro starts at exit 90. So, it's basically 81 miles of no major city metro.
Jeff Keller I was actually beginning to wonder if/when a "Major Move" was going to happen on the rest of I-65 between Louisville & Indy, let alone there & Chicago/Gary... I heard multiple times over that the latter section of I-465 gets just enough traffic trouble to where it'd be QUICKER to use a wide array of country roads (if not including the U.S. 41 Expressway) to get to the Chicagoland... Put into perspective for a sec that KTC recently started (maybe even finished) construction on the final section of 4 lane stretch of I-65 within that state, possibly the same exact thing going on in Florida...
As far as I understood I-65 will be 6 throughout all of Kentucky by 2019. When I was there in 2015 there was still a 30 mile gap. I think the extra lane was not needed between Bowling Green and Elizebethtown.
dvferyance And I was over here wondering when Tennessee was going to start addressing their more crowded rural interstate miles; can't imagine the ride along I-24 & 65 southeast & north out of Nashville being all too fun during the right (wrong) periods of time...
Love this video!!! It goes through Jackson County, Indiana, and Bartholomew County, Indiana. My parents grew up in Seymour, Indiana. Most of my ancestors settled in Jackson County, Indiana, and Bartholomew County, Indiana!
Was all that construction at the end FINALLY removing the left entrances to I-465??? Nothing short of inexcusable IMO to have left exits/entrances either OUTSIDE of Downtown or NOT for special (hov/HOT/reversible express) lanes...
Jeff Keller but are the left entrances actually being addressed with that project? Better yet, is there ANY ongoing or foreseeable reconstruction happening along I-465??? those two or so modernized stretches look "incomplete" if you add the present I-865 to U.S. 31 & Castleton Mall/I-69 stretches into the mix...
