Interstate 87 - North Carolina northbound

What a coincidence that New York and North Carolina have an Interstate 87 like New York and New Jersey having an Interstate 287

I am surprised they would allow another i-87; NY Thruway/Northway will always be the original I-87. However, there are other instances of unconnected interstates: I-86 - ID, NY to PA (NY and PA Rt. 17) I-84 - OR to UT, MA to PA I-88 - IL, NY I-76 - OH to NJ, CO to NE

I thought that this interstate 87 goes through New York State only!Sense when does it go through NC?

This should be Interstate 46.
