At 3:17 they guy in the denim jacket appears from the left side of the screen just walking minding his business, when all of the sudden 3:20 hits and he turns back to listen to this masterpiece. It’s amazing the many emotions a song can bring to your mind.

If I may , the original music may be complicated , but when you don't play it at the rhythm it was meant to be played you disrespect the composer in a way. this piece was meant to be felt , meant to be emotional . meant to be heart breaking. this right here feels rushed because she was too nervous. let go of that nervousness . it has nothing to do with this piece . be in the moment and don't look at the camera. you don't need to think about the people surrounding you and judging, they are not the one playing it. when you sit down and play the piano you should do it for YOU , not for them .
I don't know why but the song was making me emotional and then the 3:20 part hits and just then sudden blast of tears from the eyes. This song makes me emotional and makes me wonder how my life changed in a blink of an eye.
If people see a pro talented person playing an instrument brilliantly and if they dont stop even for a minute, then they are in too deep in the matrix and have forgotten what life really is.
i'll never not get chills from this song like its absolutely insane to me that our human minds can come up with something like this. literal proof that we were born from the stars.
I too get goosbumps everytime I listen to it. And, technically, we all are made from star stuff. The atoms that our bodies are made up of, are all created in the centres of colliding stars, where under extreme pressure and temperature, the smaller atoms fused together to form larger atoms, which later on arranged themselves in a particular way to form you and everyone else on this planet.
This is the world we’re living in, I cried watching this, not only because of how beautiful it was but also because of how many people are asleep in this world, to walk blindly by as if something fantastic isn’t happening before them, if only 10% of the passers by could just stop for 10 seconds to really absorb themselves in something, it’s a sad world we’re living in
You’re right. This movie and song came to me at a time when I was struggling with depression and the numbness that can come with trying to mitigate the pain, and in the process I missed so much. It’s part of my life, but I’m far more aware of looking around and of time, and it’s helped. Anyway, thanks for making me reflect on myself.

When i see someone playing piano or guitar in the public like this,my eyes,my ear and my feeling is connected. It makes me seeing something beautiful that can't be explained.. people walking,crowds,a shop or anything else is just more meaningful and aesthetic with music in public.
I agree that it's not the easiest score itself and Patrik's arrangement is quite challenging, but even leaving the rest of the performance which was far from flawless, the end was really poorly played. Uneven and changing tempo and lots and lots of wrong notes. Nothing here sounds 10/10. Unless of course you have only seen the movie and know nothing about music and piano playing. 6.5 it is. Could play it better myself.

This will forever be the most beautiful piece of music in the world to me, I always watch Patrik Peitschmann’s cover and just came across this one. At 3:20 my eyes welled up.. I have never cried listening to a song before - not even this one before now. This means so much to me!
This and Chevaliers de Sangreal from the closing scene of the DaVinci Code (as performed by the Danish National Symphony). I just made the mistake if listening to them back-to-back and now it is time to go mow the grass... My eyes are going to be bloodshot for 3 full days...

After watching Patrik Pietshmann's video/sheet music i was getting nervous for you coming the crazy part of it (near the end), but you absolutely nailed it...for a while haha good job.
Actually the part in front of the "hard ending part" ist way harder, even though it sounds like an easier section. I play Patrick's version as well and have my problems there. You can also hear it, when you are closely listening to that part in this video. There occur the most mistakes. Even though it's well played an a nice interpretation in sound and volume of playing
@@arne.hantscho Yeah, I'm learning it as well, and the thing is, the 'hard part' is just the two parts before combined, so by the time someone reaches it, they already know both and just have to play them at the same time. It is true that the part before it is harder. At least for me it is.
You can find easier versions of it, to start with. Zimmer himself often starts with an easy baseline (watch his Masterclass) anyway and then he evolves it. I am new at piano, I couldn't even play with both hands, my brain said not gonna happen, but I stuck at it for a couple of hours and at the end of the day I can play it. It took me a couple of hours to learn the easy version, you can too. It's okay to know ones limitations, but eventually you will break them. Don't bring yourself down pretending you have no talent. Nobody was born being a master at anything, it all takes practice.

Hans Zimmer’s music for Interstellar has the power to lift you up, fill your heart and make you feel like a tiny dot in this great universe. Ellie with all the surrounding distractions and sounds while also being nervous for such a public performance played extremely well. I agree the title is misleading as the best part is all of her performance. Bravo Ellie... Have you tried to play this on a church organ? Check out pianist and composer David Robertshaw. I can only assume the 400 dislikes are from jealous, can't play anything at all and never played a note in public. Shame on you. Give credit where credit is due.
Whaaat don't start playing with this piece. It takes about atleast 10 years of playing piano to play this decently. But I do hope you luck in playing this piece

The first time I heard of this was from a very reliable source BTW (the late Norvel Hayes). I remember him saying that the person played just as well as Liberace...

You must be having a really sad life with very low expectations if a video of a piano performance in a shopping mall full of mistakes (especially many towards the end in the hardest part) and played with changing uneven tempo brought hope to your life.

This footage is surreal, in front of a fantastic musical theme, brilliantly interpreted and the multiple parallel universes circulating in the same space, incredible. I loved.
I love how it's not completely perfect from where she is still learning to master it. It shows how good she is and also how difficult it is whilst still being lovely to sense.
Just started learning piano at 42 with zero experience (playing sousaphone in high schools as the extent of my music experience) after being inspired by this vid. To be able to butcher through a version of this song is my goal even if it takes me 20 years to get there.
