I neglected to watch Interstellar when it came out because I was never into "space" movies. 2014 (year the movie came out) was the year I graduated high school and as I sit here in 2020 (craziest year ever) I have just finished watching it for the very first time. Wow. And the only reason I decided to watch was this piece of music. Interstellar is now my favourite movie of all time.

This song was described by Christopher Nolan as alive. The organ needs air, needs to breath and exhale as we do. When you listen to those deep notes, you can almost feel yourself breathing with it. I’ve never heard a song that can elicit so many emotions at one time. It’s a song I would imagine would be paired with your life flashing before your eyes. Stunningly beautiful

That's not surprising ... When you play a church organ, you're not just playing the organ itself, but the entire building, as each organ/church has it's own resonance, especially depending on how old the organ is relative to the church ... the older the organ, the long it has had time to 'settle in', the richer, and deeper the sounds that seem to come out of the very building itself ...

Delta Riotlion no, for the Oscars, Zimmer was beaten by Alexandre Desplat for his score work on The Grand Budapest Hotel. I very much wanted Hanz to win for Interstellar, but because of bias, they may have given it to Desplat because he hadn't won one before that and Zimmer has already won one before (for his score for the lion king). Frozen wasn't even nominated for best original score and it was in the Oscars the year before, not the same year as Interstellar
@hkfilmfreak1995
@hkfilmfreak1995 7 лет назад
I liked Alexandre Desplat's score for GBH very much and I'm glad he won. Zimmer's score for Interstellar is also genius though and I'd also be happy if he had won. I'm just sad that the Academy gets so much hate because they decided against Zimmer, it's not like they gave the award to a massively inferior composer. Desplat is really good!

If I close my eyes I can just imagine time moving faster and faster with everything in the background out of focus. However the ONLY thing in focus is this talented musician playing this amazing arrangement. Every once in a while I find myself watching covers of the Interstellar theme and envious of those that are able to witness the moment and upset at those who chose to ignore it. Those that stick around to witness and listen to a once-in-a-lifetime performance are given a gift, a gift that only lasts a few minutes. That gift, is time slowing down for them where they find themselves still, full of empathy and wonder. Most important of all, free of worry. That is the gift this performance brings to us.

Interstellar is one of THE most underappreciated movies of all time. Even some of my friends saw the movie and said it was "boring" and did not like it. Just thinking about this movie, this music, makes me cry. The thought of such a beautiful, limitless universe out there, within sight, yet so hard to reach. The creation of all creations, the one that is, perhaps among many. Interstellar, the glimpse into what could possibly be. Beautiful music, here. Thank you.

IDK if you've seen the short "making of" the Interstellar soundtrack. It's incredibly emotional, how Hans wrote the theme about his son, and what it feels like to be a father. I lost my father young, and learned to repress the pain of that loss so I could function. But when I watch that video, there's no way to repress feelings I have about my dad (who was wonderful) and to acknowledge that I miss him still, which is actually such a catharsis. He absolutely loved music, and so I watch the video every month or two so I can remember to feel. I meditate on who I am, and honor that part of my father that lives on through me. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LOQYZFOqkt8.html

Never will I ever hear a song that gives me a feeling of inexplicable longing and the need to explore the vastness of our universe quite like the interstellar score. I don't know how, but Hans Zimmer managed to put together a piece that evokes the most specific and peculiar emotions from me, even ones I didn't know I had. I listen to this song when I need inspiration, when I feel self-doubt, or just full of wanderlust. When I die, I want this piece played at my funeral.

I know right, it IS hauntingly beautiful! There's definitely something unique and special and deeply profound about this song, I just don't know what it is. It's so magical and fills your heart with pure joy and awe all at once. Hah I like what Hans Zimmer said about it on the DVD extras for Interstellar, it was something like, that the reason he used the church organ is becase like a human being it needs to breathe...heehee I like that. Man is a genius. Oh and guy above me (dare I even ask?) what are you even talking about? No-one's complaining, and this has nothing to do with religion, it's about music lol (just because it has a church organ in it does not make it a religous debate so really please).

I started watching Interstellar together with my daughter back in 2015. She was only 4.t at that time. I say “started watching” because we slip down to our little home theatre, crank the volume right up and re-watch it at least twice or thrice times every year. She loves it and I think once she’s grown up, by watching it then, she’ll be transported back in time to how she felt watching this while laying on her daddies chest. It’s an excellent film - The music makes it a masterpiece. The End.

This is a beautiful morning, the sun is making its way between the mountains entering through my window touching my face, i can hear the first Spring birds singing outside, and your music is touching my soul, the world could be perfect for just four minutes. Greetings from the Patagonia.

Close your eyes and immerse yourself into another dimension. This movie has shown how small the humans can be. and at very same time how creative to compose a such beautifull masterpiece. Love from Brazil.

The Soundtrack itself is epic! It shakes you to the core and asks "How desperate would you be...in the moment...when there is no light and no hope"... It is epic because it forces you to think "how tragic can it be?" And it is epic because however tragic the moment might be for you, "it is still not absolute. Everywhere else in the universe it is still that nothingness that prevails. Like it always was. For how insignificant we humans are in the greater picture of the Universe." Love the recreation of the track too!
