JimiJamison was unbelievable, a true legend. I’ma big fan of the search is over, what a song… Really enjoying these little clips and learning new and interesting facts I didn’t know. Well done & can’t wait for the next instalment 😊
I met Jim back in 2017 and told him I wished I could have met Jimi. A remorseful look came over his face and he responded with, "the best singer and the nicest guy". Also, "The Search Is Over" makes me cry as well. Jimi just nailed it. Incredible. ❤
I contacted Jimi for vocal advice with The Search is Over. He was such a Class Act. He sang so many challenging tunes, even before he got to Survivor. He had that powerhouse voice back in 1968 with The Debuts. He was only 17!
There honestly wasn't anyone like Jimi. His vocals were naturally auto tuned. It was really cool when Jim pointed out how Jimi could make the transition from his chest to head voice unnoticed. Even in his later years he still could belt out the majority of his songs in the same key. What a loss.
The legendary Jimi Jamison…one of the great vocalists of the modern era…certainly my favourite, including his incredible work with Survivor, Cobra, Target and his solo work…RIP🥺🤘.
Jim Peterik is so talented. Love his songwriting, singing, piano / organ playing and guitar playing. I think Jimi Jamison is one of the top rock singers. What a magical and clear voice he had. I listen to Survivor songs with Jimi and Jimi solo work daily. So missed!
@@SleeveSaturday Hopefully, you have listened to the new Jimi country/rock CD released on 8/23/24 and recorded in 2008, titled Jimmy Wayne Jamison. The songs are fantastic as written by Jim Peterik (couple co-writers on some songs), CD co-produced by Jim. The liner notes are extremely helpful when listening to the songs with comments by Jim and Jeremy Holiday, president of Iconoclassic Records. Jimi was such an incredible singer; the best!
Vital Signs is one of the very few albums I can listen back to front. Every song is so well written and composed. And Jimi's voice is just chef's kiss 🤌
Keep It Right Here and Can't Let You Go are Jimi's two most overlooked songs. But the one song from Jimi that sticks out for me the most is 'Seconds Away' from 'Reach.' Seconds Away gets me choked up the most, probably because the whole Reach album was done in lower register.
I really love Jim Peterik he is an awesome songwriter. I really love to hear him talk about the Amazing Jimi Jamison stories. I really loved Jimi,s beautiful voice. I still miss him in 2023. His voice is so Missed in the music world but he will never be forgotten 🌹🌹❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥💯💯🎼🎼🎤🎤🎶🎶👍👍💯💯💯
I never thought that I could ever like anyone more than Ian Gillan but I was very wrong Jimi Jamison melted my heart the first time I heard him and that was just over 5 years ago and I've listened to him everyday since, he truly moves your spirit and I have yet to find a song I didn't like that he sang the world truly lost the very best when Jimi went to Heaven
@@frankbeltran9372 I remember reading that Jon Lord wanted Jimi and the Jimi was afraid of what his managers would do and he didn't want to get sued because he was still with Survivor. Jon believed in Jimi, he aided him with producing When Love Comes Down an album I truly love and think all the songs are strongly Harder Rock than what he sang with Survivor. I also own Crossroads Moments also a great album, I can do nothing but sing the praises of Jimi Jamison he totally impresses me.
No one knows for sure except God but I have read that he was a Christian and I believe from everything I have read that he was and that doesn't mean he was perfect because he was human and we all fall short of the grace of God@@Faltor895
It was for sure a song who made me share a tear of.....the search is over. Thanks to Jim and Frankie who made Survivor such a tremendous band....you guys rule (forever)🙂
I saw Jimi in Toledo 1985 opened with survivor for Bryan Adams.. concert so great.. then I saw him in Sarasota FL. Survivor, lover boy, and Eddie money.. Jimi never lost his voice since the first time I had seen him in Toledo..the best singer.. ,loved Bryan Adams as well,..he still has his voice as well...
What a great singer was. Then again, Jim Peterik has a great voice, if you listen to Ides of March's Vehicle. Peterik's voice is between great Blue-eyed soul and like actual Ottis Redding!
Jimi's voice just made me happy. I couldn't stay sad if I heard him singing. I have heard some of Cobra, all of Survivor and, at least, his first solo album When Love Comes Down. I'm sure I've heard more. lol
Hey Jim. I have a great suggestion. Collaborate with a Hollywood movie producer to produce a movie titled , "Popular Girl", then re-release the song as the sound track. Then Voila! You have Survivor back on top of charts for a very underrated song!
Could you do one on what the hell happened to Frankie Sullivan? Saw him about 15 years ago and it was a disaster. He could still play rhythm but it when it came to lead he couldn't put three notes together.
Hey can you ask him a question for me if the song Popular Girl was about a sex worker? Cause that’s the vibe I get every time I hear it. Or is it just about a girl everyone turns their heads every time she enters a room?
I always had the same impression.....Sullivan is definitely full of it but i'm quite sure that both are wrong and have had their share of wrongdoings...always two sides to every story @@SleeveSaturday
