We are so fortunate to hear her words! And I am not saying this out of hero-worship. People should listen to her views on the theory of Hindustani music. The state of affairs of the ‘raag-roop’ in the music, the idiosyncracy surrounding the ‘samay’ concepts, standardisation of raag-roop and the types of singing (what are the difference b/w thumri? hori? Where does Khyal end and where does ‘light’ start, etc) are so progressive. I hope that with the gravity that she possesses, it leads to a change for the better in Hindustani’s paradigm.

Wonderful analogy of writing in the water 😊by Maaji. If I can share my views for younger generations to consider classical music as a full time career A. Indian Film industries should come forward to initiate musical concerts along with award ceremonies or as a classical musical concerts twice a year. B. Industrialists or Corporate companies should identify talents and provide scholarships and create opportunities to have a long term career. C. Music producers or companies should offer a substantial amount and have long term contracts for creating and recording of classical music. There are numbers of online companies who are dedicated to teaching music and provide careers as teachers for many classical musicians which is well appreciated 😊👏🏼Classical music is not a mass commercialised music, it is attained through tapasya/ sadhana for those who are willing to go through it by loosing themselves in that journey with the support from the affluent music lovers 😊🙏🏽
