Like a guilty pleasure, I've held back watching this for two days. This man is a dying breed. He appreciates what is important. Why people risk life & limb to come to countries such as America & Australia, despite people saying how lousy & racist they are. People, we have lived in the best times, the western world is heading to hell in a handbasket. Thank goodness I'm at the rear end. The future genuinely scares me.
I visited this shop several years ago, but have moved away. I now watch all his you tube videos.l I have found him to be just like his videos. He is well infomed, very personable, and is a true expert with an interesting personality. ' He truly has coins and precious metals as a strong passion. I have old friends in Florida who visit and deal with him regularly. If you research coins you can interact very positively with him and find him to be fair. Like all sellers, he takes the risk on what he buys and has to make a profit to stay in business, but I found he always gave me fair price. The fact that he goes to local schools to talk with younger prospective collectors is a very noble effort. I am sure the kids find him interesting and enjoy his personality. I watch all his videos with Spegtacular and always come away better informed and very convenial. I have found coin sellers in my new community, and have not found anybody as approchable and so knowledgable in the coin shop business. Miss visiting the Florida area.
Numismatic content has a calming effect, like watching the golf channel. He could be talking about terrible news, but his voice and accent makes it sound like, eh shit'll buff out! No worries! Good job man
Agree, I Bought all my past from TD called tonight about 90% Constitution silver( Hard time hearing Children in back Ground. " Will Place order tomorrow , Take care of our Patriots... Thank you Lord God for keeping him on the" Green side...)
Those earlier paper money notes have spectacular art work. People have no idea what incredible talent it takes to engrave a plate. Our money is boring. Stamps used to have incredible engraving. When they switched to the photo process they absolutely ruined stamp collecting.
I could listen to this man talk about dust... For however long the good Lord allows me, I'd love to hear him 8 hours a day. Sincerity is what I hear in his voice.
I completed all the "nickname" notes. Ask the coin guy what that is or means. I really do have them all. Remainders are cool also. AND the Dix note. The Dix note is the "dixie" of the song. (Dix is French for 10).
In my childhood (1950’s) I started collecting coins. The last time I looked at them was about 60 years ago, don’t have a clue about value, probably not worth much. Here’s the question: Not knowing anything about collecting I used an eraser to make the pennies shiny and clean. I know it was ignorant, but that’s life. So the question is, what color do you think they are today. All those years in the attic makes me wonder if they have changed to a dull color or not. Any guess about today’s status? They are still in the attic, when the weather changes I’ll visit them and probably have more questions. Hopefully we’ll be in Florida this winter, I’ll stop by and say hi.
Coin Guy's political views and his take on the financial environment are absolutely accurate. More people should listen to him before this country flames out. USA is already in a nose dive and spinning out of control.
The Rickey collection was owned by a record setting major league baseball player. I once had a pmg graded 1953 $10 star note silver cert from that collection
Guy needs some decent leather holsters for his revolvers. I've noticed he has a few he rotates through, one looked like a Colt and the other a Smith. Leather will do them justice!
Agree, Suggest Andy Artonin (not sure of last name spelling ) in the England if still on the Green side or Greg Kramer in Horse Hide. Best their is , Again In Horse Hide....
Maundy coins were given out on Good Thursday, the day before Good Friday over Easter. That's cool you picked up the 1902 National banknote from Pittsburgh, I live an hour east of Pittsburgh and have a 1902 Mellon National signed by RB Mellon, who was President of the bank. The uncut sheets of Obseletes are amazing, the Canal Bank has a deep history. I've been saying all along about using older eagle designs from those notes as well as designs from American banknote co. I love the colonials, each state was allowed to print currency, and if those states could not redeem them,Congress would. One of the more rare fractionals is a 1863 50 cent, made by Francis Spinner, who actually put his own image on them.Keokuk was named after Sauk chief Keokuk. As someone who loves to draw,I can appreciate all those beautiful designs. Excellent video, I loved it👍
It is certainly a great thing that you have these videos with Coin Guy and we do love the videos. Would it be impossible however, to do some videos with other buyer/collector/sellers of this type as Coin Guy and simply to get another perspective of the business?
The Canal Bank note sheets are really nice, and quite cheap compared to what one LCS is flogging them for here in Australia. ~US$70 per sheet? They want US$70 per bank note!
24:03 They are security fibers. I can't say for fractional currency, but all US money has red and blue fibers embedded in the paper, it makes it more difficult to counterfeit.
“Jawline And bone structure“ lol “cut of his chin” lol lol Love you guys really hope I can make it from the treasure Coast to your shop one day I know I’m really late to this episode, but I just started watching you within the last month. For those of you who believe in God, Jesus, please pray for my mom. She has been in hospice care for the last 3 1/2 months and the last month has been brutal. A lot of suffering. My prayer is that she peacefully passes in her sleep, and everyone she wants to be there will be present to say goodbye Thank you to anyone who reads this and prays. God bless you all, and may he help us all use wisdom in these current and future days. Thank you, Jesus for all you’ve done and will do.
I've got some currency but nothing like my coin collection but love the old notes they had eye appeal then. Got a beautiful black eagle graded a 63 by pmg but looking for descent bison note
