Ms. Hendry is perhaps best known for portraying the Bond girl, Rosie Carver in the James Bond film "Live and Let Die." In that film, she became the first African American woman to become romantically involved with 007. She later starred in several 1970s films, including the 1973 film "Black Caesar" and its sequel, the 1973 film "Hell Up in Harlem." She also portrayed the martial arts expert, Sydney, in "Black Belt Jones."
Keep training, all you need is the Will, and and as you get better your confidence grows. Dont give up, every time you lose, you learn and get better, so don't let it bother you, as you will get better, increasing your self worth. Also in everyday life as a whole. The discipline changes your life. I was doing MA during the early 70s, then had a severe spinal injury.
Thanks to Mr. Jim Kelly [Inspiration] and Ms. Gloria Hendry. ' least Favorite Remark of This Interview [for me] ?: referring to Ms. Gloria Hendry as " Ms. Thing... " [whether intended or unintended - very Disrespectful] ---smh.
A] Did you 'ask' her if she was offended about that as *one Black person to another? [Ms. Hendry was also caught_up in the entertainment_industry world. [not that it's an excuse] Not to many performers have the integrity fortitude _especially during that Blaxploitation Era_ [which far as I can tell hasn't ended yet for Hollyweird]. Interestingly enough, she praised Halle Berry for 'being thrown a bone' for degrading herself in Monster Ball >clue< I just wonder if I were to ask her in person/off camera her feelings/thoughts on The bone_Academy's 'snub' of Ms. Berry's portrayal of Dorothy Dandridge, what would her [just b/t us] response be.. B] 'she' doesn't have to be for it to be 'my least favorite remark' [some of the youth don't realize how their use of the 'n-word' is so blatantly offensive and disrespectful it _actually_ is. Those of us who, know_better remember & realize are therefor offended nonetheless]. -- [thats where i was coming from] -- *We wear the mask that grins and lies, It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes, - ... I was thinking the same thing too...she was really dark back then and then she became lighter when the years went by. As if she did not want to be black...but then again...she looks lovely no matter what her skin tone is. :)
Toe LaShawn You no I thought the same thing but you no this could be her color remember they did not have the type of color on screen like they do now Black pictures back in the day was kinda of dark look at Shaft or Black Ceaser picture quality is dark
Many blacks on TV appear darker but are actually lighter in person. Sometimes it is the lighting on pictures and screens that will modify a black person's skin color but they have not done anything to change their skin. I have seen black actors on TV that are dark and then seen them in person and they are light skinned.

She was darker skinned in her youth per photos and films I've seen. Not sure what the change is all about or how it occurred but it's not too extreme - so all power to her to change her complexion.
Folks are asking about her lightening herself. I am going to suggest the opposite. At the time she did the movie we were pushing "natural" looking sisters. They probably darkened her up combined with the movie being shot in the sun I am going to say she was tanned up and powdered down for the cameras. Think practically
Yeah, she was better looking with dark skin..and the hair.. a afro fits her face. I know, that's rare for a typical black American to say, but I AM Not typical blackman.
I do not believe she bleached her skin, she probably just appeared darker on some films and pictures but in real life she is lighter - that happens to a lot of blacks on TV
