I am a Wies Fan , Johnathon is a expert in music reproduction ! After watching several of your videos I am impressed with your knowledge. Listening to you has educated me on music. I am a horn fan. I wish I could afford a set of your speakers . I heard a pair of Klipsch back in 73 or so and after hearing them it changed everything I thought of about music. I’ve had a set of Klipsch K-Horns with a M&K sub running up front with a set of Klipsch Belle’s running in back all pushed by a Marantz 2325 . I’ve owned this system for many years . It’s hard to believe how much music the Belle’s in back bring to the total sound. Lot’s of people would be happy with just the K-horns but when you add the Belle’s in back it adds more reverb and depth to the music the room is full of music. It’s like being in the club. It’s an old system but still sounds good. The Marantz needs restoration after 50 years of service I’m sure the capacitors need replacement. It has one light out other than pulling the cover off and blowing it out with my air compressor nothing has been done. Quality is something your products seem to be ! To leave my system it would have to be what you are producing or I am just staying where I am at. I’m to old at 63 to spend that much money today things have changed for us all . Keep up the fantastic Work !

I love listening to this guy. When I hear him, I go... that's why I've hand built tube amps (for hi-fi and instruments) for nearly 40 years... this stuff is real, it does matter.

Jon, please describe why narrow dispersion of your highs and mids is better than omnidirectional dispersion without the horns? Sure omnis wont be 105 dB sensitive, but some are 93dB which for most rooms smaller than 800 sqft is perfectly enough! I know one speaker model which can play at 124dB with low distortion and is only 93dB /1watt!!!

You do realise that nearly all recording regardless of quality or not is digital and then sometimes modified to be played via. Vinyl ie records Lp/Ep so the quality for playback depends on the digital to audio conversation.

That’s why I only think vintage records are worth collecting ie: analog chain cut to vinyl

Regarding linear horn systems as mentioned: This is not correct. The Deville Speaker uses a curved horn for the tweeter. 😁

Love the gear, but what he fails to realise is that horns that size were designed for very large rooms. What works in a movie theatre may not be optimal for a living room.

I’m all for great designed hifi that is well made with no compromise in materials and sound quality. Form and function that will last. What’s not to like about that. I hate the disposable everything that comes out now. Les is more and I would rather save to have the best of something I like and aspire to owning, rather than have a home full of mediocre everything. Quality not quantity.

Ordinary horn speakers have terrible time domain performance. Read some of the AES articles by Richard Heyser. Steam punk design and denial of 100yr. of work by the entire audio industry.

They are great speakers. But there are better speakers out there.
