Wonderful interview! They look so glad for their big success around the world! For me, this is the best line up of Wings: Joe was a wonderful drummer, Denny plays the guitar so well and he had a stunning voice and Jimmy was a awesome guitarist, a genius!
If I had the chance to be either in Wings or The Beatles, it would have to be Wings,The Beatles had to much pressure,Wings just looked like they had fun.
Wings had plenty of arguments. Denny and Paul had big fallings out, Linda was viewed as mediocre by other members and Paul once threatened to replace her, and the whole thing was under the pressure of living up to the Beatles and Paul's personal issues stemming from that.
Not for the band members except Denny Laine. The others received a weekly salary & Paul is noted for his stinginess back then. Not a lot is the phrase that's why so many left the band & the great kudos & amazing to work with him still couldn't keep them. Me. I'd work for nothing. Paul here's my number just look up my name..
@The SNES Man Ram is his best work, personally I'd rather Wings hadn't formed & thus we had more masterpieces in the Ram genre, yes Wings had some great tracks/singles but albums always fell short compared to Ram, but we'll never know. Best Bond number ever tho, sorry Shirley..
Really? Jimmy didn't die of old age. Paul opened big doors which he handled easily but for Jimmy it was too much & his medicine jar & wino junko was all to real. He was my school classmate so it was a loss but don't promote drugs here as fun.
@@seltaeb3302 Look, in the Rock world of the 70s about everybody did drugs. The McCartney's were rather on the moderate side of things as they took only marihuana. Which makes all of those drug busts a bit ironic. But I don't think you can place Jimmy's fate on their shoulders. I am sure he had been into drugs and booze before he joined wings.
@The SNES Man GREETINGS FROM THE GREAT STATE OF ARKANSAS VERY TRUE AND I WAS 14 IN 1979 WHEN HE PASSED AWAY THAT WAS A BIG SHAME VERY SAD SITUATION WILL DISGRACE AND HIS POOR BROTHER JACK HAD TO FIND HIM DEAD IN HIS FLAT IN LONDON THEY BOTH LOOK PRETTY SIMILAR BOTH GORGEOUS GORGEOUS MEN AND TALENTED JIMMY CAME FROM POVERTY HE NEEDED A MENTOR HE WAS VERY YOUNG WHEN HE STARTED IN THE BUSINESS AT 15 WHEN DRUGS AND ALCOHOL MARIJUANA PREVAILED NO ONE DID ANYTHING OR TRY TO STOP HIM AND GET HIM INTO REHAB FURTHERMORE JIMMY MADE THE BIG MISTAKE OF GOING TO JOIN THE SMALL FACES WITH THAT TRASH BAND TRASHY STEVE MARRIOTT JUNKIE WINO IS DEFINITELY HE WAS INFLUENCE JIMMY IN A REALLY BAD WAY AND THEN BASICALLY LEFT HIM FOR DEAD......WHERE WAS THE MCCARTNEY'S IN JIMMY'S FAMILY AND KIM THEY SHOULD HAVE HELPED HIM. HE PERHAPS HE WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN ALIVE TODAY HE LEFT BEHIND A DAUGHTER SHE WAS 8 YEARS OLD IN 79 WHEN HE PASSED AWAY THAT HIS BROTHER JACK AND PARENTS HAD TO RAISE SHE'S KNOWN HER EARLY FIFTIES LIVING IN EDINBURGH SPITTING IMAGE OF JIMMY ESPECIALLY AS A CHILD WE'VE SEEN THE PICTURE SHE HAD THE SHORT IS SHAGGY DARK HAIR BEAUTIFUL CHILD ONE OF THE PHOTOS THAT WAS CIRCULATING WAS ON PINTEREST AND JIMMY SITTING ON A COUCH HIS DAUGHTER MUST HAVE BEEN FOUR OR FIVE AT THE TIME WEARING A DRESS THAT HAD LIKE A PINAFORE AND SHE WAS HOLDING A STUFFED ANIMAL STUFFED BEAR ABOVE HIS HEAD JIMMY LOOKS WASTED SITTING ON THE COUCH VERY SAD PHOTO
@@anaparada7219 Jimmy was my school classmate & certainly didn't come from poverty. Yes we were good working class. He didn't do drugs & alcohol until Wings came along. Paul should have mentored him more but Jimmy was stubborn. I would certainly have put him straight. We all make choices good & bad. He was always a nice quiet lad with supreme talent & at only 16 had a massive hit with Thunderclap Newman.
Wonderful interview....Such a fun and happy band who wrote some of the best music ever. It obviously was a joyous time! And Jimmy was a great young guitarist!
It's so terrible that too many people talk about Paul like if he was your friend or someone close. Stop the hate! You can't talk about him, damaging his dignity! Take care of yourself and just enjoy the music if you want!
Jimmy McCulloch was gorgeous so is his brother Jack may his soul rest in peace and God bless his family gone too soon I was 14 when he died in 1979 what a disgrace
Linda Davis wings over America was my first concert seeing Paul in America - as was for all of us in the USA . $9.50 was pricey for those great seats I had at the Philly Spectrum. But $9.50 won't by you a seat in the nosebleed section for one song! Same as the $15.00 I paid my friend's Mom who worked at the ticketron - to see Pink Floyd perform The Wall live at Nassau Colissum- one of only a dozen shows in 2 US cities. What a blessing to have known this wonderful friend and her beloved Mom. Concerts were a bargain back then- and this was one of the best-and Paul still rocks at 76!
Denny Laine said he found out on the t.v. that Paul's father died and that Paul showed no signs of grief. Paul lied about the reasons for not attending his father's funeral and his stepmother had it out with him. He's a narcissist who married the biggest nastiest groupie on the entire planet. Who would even listen to him if he wasn't a Beatle?
@@cliffnote7058 that's right william does not exist, no such thing. Paul is still alive and kicking. But the guy in the video is Tony Kishman he was paul mccartney body double from 1966 to 2002.
@Anna Parada Be realistic! How much notice do we get for people's funerals. One week, or two if you are lucky. Lots of entertainers can't attend their friends funerals - because of the demands of their industry - touring filming - or recording - plus distance.
@@justiceforjamespaulmccartney if this is the truth no matter what, why haven't you got the balls to debate with anyone who disagrees with you and your silly channel!
I went to the raising canes chicken strips today and say paul mccartney and brian wilson talking brian was talking out of the side of his mouth (as usual) and was playing posible piano to sail on sailor with his butt hanging off the piano bench and then dave grohl walked in and saluted them he couldn't hear a damn thing tho and just nodded and pretended to listen.
@@louiscalabrese9945 Totally not like there's this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JLTaMzwteZQ.html which has countless examples of Paul using his right hand...
Dude all celebrities are characters they are not real people. The public doesn't understand that's the way show business is.many people have played the role of McCartney
just looking at jimmy...trying to wonder what his brother thought when he saw jimmy sitting against a sofa with a needle in his arm. his brother said," i knew he was dead."
Well they all wrote songs, they all contributed vocally, offered melodies, played live and did the promotional work around it. Sure, it's Paul's band, there is no equal to him, but Denny was a very good songwriting partner to him (he co wrote as many as 5 on 'London town') it was a band.... in the truest sense.
@The SNES Man there is no real paul McCartney. He's a character not a real person.same with all entertainers. They change them Every year.geez...look at pics of your favorite entertainers. They do them up to look like the original. There is a faint line on the bottom teeth which signifies false teeth. Also, they look different year to year.get a facial.recognition app.the faces won't match.im sorry but I thought this was common knowledge. Apparently not.i mean they are basically telling you in this interview.its all a Joke.its Hollywood. Nothing is real. The character burt Reynolds said.." people tend to forget we are just actors ". Its no different than getting a gig for a high school play.my god one album paul has hazel eyes( hey jude video)...then in the let it be video where he has a beard " Paul " eye color is brown.also he sounds different on every album .and for God's sake...the paul character even Admits it through joking in interviews. This doesnt mean you can't enjoy paul And his music but where, who, and whoever composes the music is something else I love his music but he is a character.
I just want to say to those people that say this is Paul. You’ve lost your mind. He’s gained and lost wage a different hairstyles is grown older. All those things make you look different. His voice has never changed. And if you want to go with the fact that this isn’t Paul. And you think they found a fake Paul. Well how the heck did they find someone that not only looks exactly like him. If you did a voice test it would be exactly the same and on top of all that he’s also a musical genius. What is wrong with you people? And I love his interview world
Paul's voice now has certainly changed. He can't do the high notes anymore & if voices had legs his would be in a wheelchair. He knows this & he has made changes on McCartney III.
@@someone9687 no he isn't he is Billy shears a look a like from 1960s this is the only paul people have known for 55yrs ,, Paul's brother admitted it so did Ringo and denny laine,,,, he is a imposter,,,,,
RU-vid's censorship algorithm allowing only one official narrative/pov to be presented. Why won't YT let us see the multiple replies to the primary comment in this thread?
Yes great composer, singer etc. But I can't help feel he's a bit of a hypocrite, he felt agrieved with Michael Jackson being an arse and buying up all his songs, but then wouldn't do the right thing in the end and give dual song writing credit to Denny laine on Mull of Kintyre, where he would have a share in the royalties, rather than just a one off payment. McCartney doesn't need the money, where Denny probably does!
@The SNES Man his name is mike mgeer who was in the scaffold group he is being asked in a TV studio last time he see Paul,, and he was not joking,,, he was Paul's half brother its on you tube also look up Graham nash from the hollies saying people think paul mccartney was in wings ,, but like you say each to there own i see the beatles in Cambridge and London this one does not even have half the voice of paul its right in front of you this bloke is a imposter for 55yrs plus,,, looks and acts nothing like James paul mccartney,,,
So Jimmy left to join Small Faces don’t know what Marriott promised him but it most have been bullshit cause it didn’t last long Joe left for what to join Chuck Leavell I know Chuck is cool but let me think what’s the career move here Paul McCartney or Chuck Leavell Ruined a great lineup Guess Abe , Rusty , Wix and Brain know better
