What I love about this is that Paul actually seems uncomfortable with getting these kind of attention. He always makes a lot of jokes to deflect his embarrassment and that says a lot about his self humility - love the guy 🤘
Yes! I don’t even watch the Grammy’s anymore because it’s gotten so bad. Paul’s music can last a lifetime, while the music from popular artists today will be forgotten in a year.
Today's so called music is mostly dogshit.....soul-less and rock and roll is non existent unless it's "Dave Grohl" hold out patented who is also crap as well, should have ended w/ Nirvana or stayed drumming.
@@benp.5698 I don't watch the Grammy's anymore either, never anyone on there I even know cos I am not a fan of the music that has been around for the last 10 years anymore.
Tragically - he should have got it earlier, while Linda was alive to share it with him, rather than when he was still grieving his loss. Such a tear jerker. Have you seen the video where he gets up to sing with his fellow performers who were doing some of his songs, assuming Paul wouldn't join them. i start crying - just thinking about it. They had one of the most beautiful marriages in mankind.
Let's not even talk about his genius as a singer and songwriter, whenever Paul speaks, he never ceases to amuse, amaze, and impress. Thank you so much for being you!
Let's not... let's talk about the genius of "JOHN LENNON!!" Had Lennon lived, Paul would've remained in his shadow. AND "Paul" can be a bit abrasive when the cameras aren't rolling.
MINE TOO, I would have burst into tears when he came out if I was Meryl, cos I am just as big a fan of Paul's as Meryl is. I was SOOOO glad they had a FAN give him the award.
Paul may be the one star who makes other stars forget who they are.

It was around this time that Paul came to terms with his Beatle past. He has done the 7:20 "best band in the world" bit ever since, but it's great to see him doing it here as it feels genuine and fresh. Plus, they were the greatest.
All four Beatles on their own are amazing . We are all thankful to have been blessed with the finest pairing of four ultra talented men whose cultural contribution has enveloped the globe and made it a better place for all generations .
Thanks. Remember watching it like yesterday.. Had tears running. Lost my copy, so very happy to find it on here. Was a much different world then. Still a very moving few minutes.
Its amazing to think that in 1990 Paul had been rocking for 30 years ...NOW IN 2023 33 years since that moment he still tours and sells out EVERY NIGHT.
Love 💘 this video! I watched it in real time on the day, and it was/is pure joy. Meryl looked gorgeous 😍, and Paul was visibly nervous, which was totally endearing. He gave a really wonderful acceptance speech, and expressed -- more than 30 years ago -- sincere concern for the environment, and social justice ⚖ as well. I will happily share this with my peeps, and thanks for posting! 😁👍🎼🎶🎸🥁🎹🥂🍾
What an inspiring guy ❤ this clip is for the ages ❤ so glad future generations will get to hear it ❤ this should be a requirement at schools worldwide ❤ touches on such difficult & important issues with a wonderful lightness, optimism & confidence in humanity ❤
What a speech from Paul!!! Full of hope for our future. Wonder how he feels about this world now??? At least he has been out their continueing to provide us with some joy to get us thru the present caos's.
This ceremony was really touching. I love who Marryl Streep describes the way that Paul McCartney had impact her personality and his influence in the world of music. Really deserve Paul. The best woman to give you the prize.❤
I WISH the beginning of her presentation was here where she talks about being at Shea Stadium with her sign saying "I LOVE YOU PAUL" and she said, " I don't think he saw it" During that she showed that she was STILL a fan and behaved as giddy as I would or anyone who has loved Paul McCartney for so many years ( since I was 17 in 1964) and knowing you are going to meet him FINALLY! I had this entire presentation on VHS tape which I can't play now as my VCR died years ago.
I make mine each and every word Mrs Streep said in her speech. Paul's talent has many people's existence better, and his attitude and Linda's towards a vegan world, parenthood, love, with or beyond The Beatles, whom I adore, honor Life. I honor him today and forever.
Just saw an interview on Rick Beato's channel with Nuno Bettencourt , talking about working with Paul McCartney. Awesome story! Must see! Long live Paul McCartney! 🙏❤️
Random trivia: John liked Meryl, sounded like he had a crush on her and went to see all her plays, NYC circa mid/late '70s. He mentioned it in an interview I read many years ago, which is now completely gone from the internet.
It didn't say that they knew each other - as I said, it was him talking about being an audience member. I've wondered if she even knew he had mentioned her in the press. I've tried to re-find the interview and couldn't, but I never questioned the legitimacy of it when I read it.
It was exactly in this vid in 1990 I "met" the beaultiful "Maybe I'm Amazed". That time I have not internet still... So it was hard to find again that song!!
I remember watching this on TV back in 1990, my senior year in high school. And Paul is still with us and so is William Shatner, and Betty White almost made it.
Cada Beatle teve sua desventura sua tragedia particular .. vcs vieram pra revolucionar pra marcar a vida das pessoas de várias formas ! Amo cada um e sinto por tudo que aconteceu
I clearly remember watching this back in the day. Garry Shandling hosted this show, and this was also the same Grammys when Milli Vanilli won their controversial Grammy for best new artist.
I love Meryl. She has been in many of my wildest wet dreams across all my life. What a beautiful girl. She was perfect for giving that Grammy to Paul McCartney. I love Meryl and I love The Beatles too, of course. I'm in love with that girl and with the great Beatles music.
Being Born & Raised In Liverpool UK....The Beatle Mania Was Born. John Lennon and George Harrison Rest In Peace ♥️. I was born Arnold Street Princes Park Gates in 1963. Ringo Starr I do believe lived and was raised in the house 4 doors away from my birth home...Obviously the fab four were in they're early to late teen years. As Paul McCartney Says In This Video...The Fab Four.. - The Beautiful People. Linda McCartney Thankyou For Opening Wards & The Linda McCartney Centre in which Still Today In 2023 Is A Pioneer To The City of Liverpool. Paul McCartney Respect To You Always Sir. May I mention how both my sons Jake n Josh Are Beatles Mad. ..As well As Their Both Foster Parent's . Our City of Liverpool May have had it's fair share of struggling communities and Society as with the rest of our Nation..But The City Of Liverpool Have A long History for Its Comedy , Laughter, Music & Theatre.. * An In- Built-in Inner Spirit of The Northern Soul. *. Be A Blessing Always ! ♥️✌️🫂♥️
People tend to forget when john lennon released Double Fantasy it got mediocre reviews and was going down the charts when he got murdered..then most of the world made it number one...john become a saint...for what he once was..not to diminish his music. Yoko ruined most of it..Paul continued to push his boundaries and write many incredible songs..
What you say is partially true. When famous singers, athletes, actors. etc. die; the public usually rushes out to buy something to remember them. If it is a tragic death - the more memorabilia is sold! If you did not like Lennon or the Beatles, those people did not purchase his albums or make John a saint. Same way when Kobe Bryant was killed in the helicopter crash - millions purchased his jersey or books. Did I - no. Felt bad he and his daughter and others were tragically killed; but, I don't follow basketball, so why would I buy his jersey or memorial book??? There is a rapper right now on life support (DMX) from a drug overdose. If he dies I am sure is CD's will sell like rockets! I guess as a fan you want to hold on to that person a little longer - I don't really know?!
Idk man some of the arrangements he’d put together on Double Fantasy were pretty pushing for 1980 and I think are very solid when Yoko isn’t absolutely losing it over the track.
Even the biggest movie & rock stars get so humbled in the presence of a Beatle. Meryl Streep turned into a 14 year old nervous teen when Paul came out & kissed her. It's rather comical to see the reaction of so many co-celebrities when they meet Paul for the first time.
