Order in the court! The trial of Claudia and Louis has officially begun and even the best lawyers (us) can't convince these demonic théâtre vampires to let our problématique favs off the hook. Conspiracy and contempt, love and loyalty take center stage as we sit front row for the most unfair trial of all time 🙃🧑‍⚖️🖕 But whatever, we're just waiting to appeal and then it's over for these losers!!!

What a shame, I pictured Claudia as a force of nature. So when she looked at the audience to remember all their faces I thought she would look at Lestat right into his face to come after him, too. It doesn‘t sound like her that in the moment of death she would on one side show so much strength and pride that she would sing the little birdie song and on the other hand looking at Lestat and pleading for help. But, just an opinion.

Claudia and Lestat were very close and she admired him until she realized that she would never grow up. There was love between them that soured into hate. Your parents are your parents and they are vampires that do horrible things every night to survive. I think there could have been a brief moment when she thought that he might come through.

Actually, Sam Reid (Lestat's actor) like us, said he felt entirely devastated by Claudia's death, mentioning it will probably haunt Lestat and himself for a long time. So, as a Claudia and Delainey fan, he said he's already hoping and imagining a way to bring her back, just like with Dreamstat, kind of haunting the narrative.

First of all, Armand is over 500 years old. He is so powerful. Why the hell could he not put everyone to sleep, take them out of there? Or at least set vamps on fire??? Sam was blocking him, give me a break. That suit on Lestat, Jesus, he's never looked better & that profile, pretty hot & I'm a lesbian lol No one can script Lestat, he's always going off script. Santiago was pleased when he finally did come back tho. A story of love not butchery. Then, finally, the first look between Louis & Lestat.... So Lestat's version is the right one? As far as Claudia's transformation. Holy crap! Armand just sitting there, watching. He was the oldest most powerful vampire there, wtf??? It pissed me off. One of my favorite moments, Lestat moving so fast to the balcony & snarling at that homophobe. Sam Reid's performance was everything, pure brilliance. "I was not worthy of the forgiveness you would grant me." Broke my heart.....have you read the books? I would highly recommend you read the books, or listen to them, they're amazing. I think next season will be from the book, 'The Vampire, Lestat' & if they have a 4th season, that could be, 'Queen Of The Damned.'

About Armand, of course he could paralyze everyone but he needs to play the innocent, he since the beginning only wanted to get rid of Claudia, she and Lestat are the obstacle between him and Louis, about Lestat was obviously following a script, including obvious lies like "Louis was hunting me" but I believe his regret about the fall was real, but now it's too late, Louis already tried to kill him and will try to kill him again in the next episode so they've already equalized the situation, two crazy and beautiful creatures lol

I think the truth lies somewhere between Louis' version and Lestat's. I don't think Louis is as innocent as he was portrayed in Season 1 (remember: unreliable narrator). I don't think anyone in this story is innocent. And I still hate Armand with the heat of a thousand blazing suns. Sam Reid killed it even more than usual in this episode. ❤

@donny1960 День назад
Well, Louis is a bit innocent in most of Anne's books. But he definitely was not a reliable narrator. Anne reimaged Lestat from book two on. So, she had to make Louis account of what happened in the first book unreliable. There is a whole chapter in 2nd book where Lestat undoes most of the narrative of the 1st book.

You guys notice the outfit Lestat was wearing? The costume design was very much on purpose. The same way Louis and Armands bedroom in dubai has the bars like a jail cell. Same with Lestats outfits wearing pinstripes down to his socks, similar pinstripe that he was wearing in Armands flashback of him when they were together. Lestat had bruises on his wrist and was disgusted when repeating the script. The coven didnt like him going off script for a reason. He was swaying like in a trance, like claudia and Louis, right before they said their verdict to Claudia and killed her. Poor Claudia, she knew Lestats version of her turning was the truth. It was confirmed that she looked to Lestat, her only parent in the room, in her final moments for help despite her feelings toward him. He looked scarred from it.

The reason why Claudia looked at Lestat before she died, that final look wasn't to punish Lestat. Hayles says it was "for help," Hayles says "she trusts him the most out of anyone in the room even though she hates him. They're familiar with each other, so she's turning to her parent for help" LESTAT PROBABLY COULDN'T EVEN MOVE (PROBABLY FROM GETTING ALL MIND JACKED BY EITHER THE COVEN OR ARMAND) Louis, Claudia and Lestat were all getting mind jacked! "I was concentrating so hard on his face(Lestat) and it was so sad. "She understood Claudia's last look to Lestat as how any child would look to a parent in a moment of distress. Armand was sick of the theater group and wanted to run away with Louis, but Louis would never leave Claudia (sound familiar). Just like the original coven, he's waited once more for someone to do his dirty work and burn it all down for him, so he can be free rather than saying any of this or doing it himself. Isn't it easier to say, Santiago, Lestat, and the theater group were the ones who actually killed Claudia and Madeleine rather than by his own hands, but he forgets they would have never gotten the chance, had he not stood by and let them take the three of them. Always a victim, huh? Really he's the perpetrator. Best seat in the house, as Malloy put it, to watch this all go down, not he couldn't do anything because he was scared...for his life??? He's a billion years old and literally brainwashed an entire room of people to say what he wanted, but he can't stop a handful of immortals that had to collectively pool their powers to control just Louis, Madeline, and Claudia. Biggest BS. I need to know how it's 80 years later and they are somehow still together because something just is not adding up.

Okay so I've rewatched all this stuff over and over and I think I'm seeing what's going on. Louis's interview has been so one-sided this whole time as he's been remembering how he felt, not what actually happened. We see it when he's with young Daniel in the 80s, spouting off about how heartless and dull Lestat and his music is. In this episode we are seeing some of what really happened from Lestat and Louis is realizing he's not as reliable as he thought. When Lestat started with saying that Louis hounded him constantly with "come to me" I thought, wtf Lestat? But now, think about it. Lestat left Louis alone for a while. And louis even said all his thoughts were plagued with Lestat. Thats probably what he meant. Louis constantly pining and lusting for him until he finally goes to get him. Lestat has a whole list of flaws, but I don't think Louis a cute little angel like you guys say. I think he only remembers the bits that are convenient and justify his anger. ALSO side note. Armand literally stopped a whole street of people when he was stalking Lestat and Nicky. And now he "couldn't prevent it?" Please.
@beadunicef5088
@beadunicef5088 6 дней назад
Why do you believe lestat side automatically as if he is some God who can't lie while saying louis is lying? This is just pure racism and you're the same as that theatre audience. Louis may have not told all details or missed out on some but he never lied. You are just prejudiced because lestat is your favourite and so you take his word as law against others. Even in the books its lestat who seeks out louis first but because louis is black in the show you believe that louis is the one who sought out lestat in their first meetings. Louis is not angry at lestat in this interview and he even goes on his side when Daniel starts calling lestat out. He is not purposefully conceling something. Louis is not an angel only in regards to how he failed Claudia but regarding his relationships with lestat and armand, he is an angel and a victim of their abuse. You don't need to sanitise lestat. Just like him the way he is because if you do it means you don't really like him

@@beadunicef5088 this has nothing to do with race. The coven was definitely playing into it but i think OP means like in the mind. Louis mind that lestat could read. Thats also was lestat was referring too. And louis isnt far from innocent, he even confirmed lestats version of Claudias turning was the true one. Louis didnt love claudia, he saw a stranger who was dying as an object and a chance for his redemption. It was about how he felt, he did not care about this random stranger and used her to manipulate lestat into turning her so he’ll never leave lestat. He dragged her body like a doll. It was never about her, his guilt is the reason why he feels obligated to care for her. Louis is not a good person. No one in this story is, not even claudia despite her life not being her choice. He also tries to manipulate Armand too, ignoring the fact that armand is a monster. And its okay to have a fav, clearly louis is yours. The show is doing its own thing so its not comparable to the book really. Its all about povs and how some are biased when it comes to telling their version. The play was not written by lestat so its not his pov, but the fact he goes off script to paint himself in a bad light shows hes more honest than louis is about himself. Louis doesnt like to paint himself like a bad guy, thats why daniel calls him and armand out a lot.

@@beadunicef5088 Racism has nothing to do with it. I've read the entire series, and IN THE BOOKS Anne Rice makes it clear than Louis can be an unreliable and misleading narrator from time to time. Lestat (in Book 2) actually fact-checks his boy friend, pointing out numerous discrepancies and inconsistencies in Louis's version of their story. Therefore we the viewers have every right to question what Louis is telling us just as Anne Rice herself does! I myself love both these characters despite their flaws.

If you think about it, Louis really didn't try to kill Least, he had no idea as to whom Claudia gave the poison to. I think, if he had known, he would have stopped Lestat from drinking, but once Lestat already had the poison in his body, that's why Louis cut Lestats throat because he wanted to spill the poison, empty it out of Lestat's body, Louis actually had second thoughts and wanted to say him. You guys have to remember that most of Louis's memories have been tampered with by Armond, Armond is controlling Louis's mind.

I'm pretty sure the cutting is part of how you kill a vampire (drain them of the blood they need to survive) as Claudia was urging Louis to do it, which she wouldn't have done if it would help Lestat. Louis did have second thoughts though which is why he wouldn't let Claudia burn Lestat afterwards.

@@Mulbert Nope, think about it, Least went underground for 100 years no blood. Decapitation or burning are the only ways to kill the vampire, not cutting his throat. Louis just wanted the bad blood out, Daniel called it out in season one, he said, you left him in the trunk with locks on the inside. Louis knew it, if he wanted to kill Least he would have cut his head off like he threatened to in the fight that the staff recounted. If I were to make a wager, they will tip where season 3 is going in the finale. You already know what happens to Santiago and the theater from having watched the movie. There have been details of the second book sprinkled in between seasons 1 and 2, so I don't think they will be doing a season based on book 2, which is mostly told in flashback even more so than book 1. No, I am betting that the season 2 finale will end with a massive setup for next season being the start of book 3, with the remaining elements of book 2. Point in fact, all of the present day elements of book 2 are setup for book 3, and with the Talimasca having already been revealed, as well as Armand clearly having a thrid party watched back in season 1 (It's there in the background if you go back and look), season 3 will be the beginning of book 3, The Queen of the Damned. FYI, if I am right, do not bother watching the movie. Any similarity to the book beyond some name drops is purely accidental, and will likely be massively different from the TV show.

It WAS a lynching! I'm glad you called it out! Lestat uses racist stereotypes against Louis and Claudia and portrays them with no sympathy in this play. Louis HAS had the conversation with Lestat about racism and how it affects him and how he's perceived. It's the reason Louis can't fully let go of his humanity because he relates to the pain of black people, and he embraced the black community and black culture in his human life. Lestat can't relate to racism and has been tone-deaf, but it season one, we got the impression that he would never use that mockery and oppression against Louis(Lestat had no problem doing that to Claudia though, with both racism and sexism! As well as mocking her assault!) So to see Lestat participate in minstrel stereotypes to undermine Louis and Claudia , after we know that Louis has TOLD Lestat how he feels about how racism and discrimination affected him all his life? And how there is another layer that Louis saw Claudia as redemption for the black people that were killed for his actions? That's sick! Lestat is so evil for that. I hope they address that in the future. Lestat uses the pain of Louis and his community against him and uses the tools of oppression to humiliate his marginalized ex-husband.

A 500 year old vampire that we have seen freeze the other members of the coven and mind control an entire audience did nothing to stop their demise. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that Lestat was forced to take his part in the trial (to some extent, at least.) We can see he is bruised at the wrists, we see him have moments of pause, clarity, and outbursts. All of this trial was at the behest and whim of Armand.

Great job for suffering through this episode. My boyfriend and I are still continuing to watch Mayfair Witches, even though we were disappointed by the first season. More so, me because I hated the adaptation from the books. I liked what they did with Interview as it made sense and it kept true to the spirit of the novel. As for Mayfair, it may be good that you don't read the novel first. It couldn't be helped for me as I read it thirty years ago and it was good enough to still remember the main plot points. So, my boyfriend and I will be watching second season but it's going to be a hate watch because as you saw the Talamasca are part of the Immortal Universe and how with a third series based on the Talamasca has been greenlit by AMC, it would be important to keep up with all three. As for best Claudia moment in the series has always been near the beginning with her incredible hunger. It harkens back to the movie with Lestat chiding her, "Never in the House!" Dressmakers, piano teachers, etc. When the trio was a happy family, in the series, that was my favourite moments. But it's needed to show just how downhill from there as time passed. Regarding the different versions from Lestat and Louis of Claudia's making and also that the trial was scripted by Sam, meant there was a change in the history and there is no reliable narrator but this is the truth of recollection. Memories morph over time. Even this is a recollection of Lestat's "testimony" from Louis' perspective. We haven't met the present day Lestat. We don't know his side of the story. This is a history from two jaded former lovers of Lestat. And I'm looking forward to Season 3 if they renew it that a new Interview will be with Lestat in the present day.

First, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU TWO! I look forward to your reviews! I love them! I'm all in for Lestat! Aside from Claudia, he has been the most truthful! Here are some points to consider 1. What we know about Lestat from S1 and S2 is from the POV of; *Claudia's-narrative of Lestat was biased, seemingly because they were so much alike. And because she was fed untruths about her making from Louis. *Louis-who doesn't know the truth if it gobsmacked him in the head. Between his self-favorable, victim narrative and Armand's scrambling of his thoughts if he wanted to tell the truth, he prop couldn't find it. *Germlin=Armand-is a manipulative, lying, albeit gorgeous puppet master. The thought that a 500 yr old Vampire with ancient blood could be held captive by simpleton Sam, much less the rest of the Coven, is laughable. 2. Lestat was in a weakened state and likely being puppeteered by the Coven, but orchestrated by the germline Armand-in the book is something very similar- *Lestat was off script, sitting awardably, dazed even. He was trying to fight the mind control but was probably too weak about the emotional apology to Louis, which likely weakened him more. After the apology was back on script, likely the Coven & the Germlin were able to gain control. But if Louis was not weakened, none of them could NEVER! Lestat is stronger than most Vampires. In the book, before he went to New Orleans, he drank from Akasha, the mother of all vampires, and she is BRUTAL! So, his gifts are incalculable. *This is most evident when he watched Claudia perish (rest her little yellow dress immortal soul)-he was noticeably wobbling, more than likely his attempt to save her, but he couldn't move. 3.Call back to Season 1, Episode 3, after Louis kicks in the door of his family home. His mother says, "There he goes, there he goes!" His mother knew his character-even before he was a Vampire. She knew her son and how horrendous he could be at times. Black mothers know their sons. Predictions: That little unhappy, fake, immortal marriage Armand has locked Louis into is ending next episode. Now that Louis is remembering, he will gather that Armand didn't just scramble his mind in San Diego in the 70s, but also in Paris in the 40s. Louis has an unmanageable depth of anger and breadth of self-loathing. Not recalling incidents as a result of manipulation is just another reason for him to explode. This little fake marriage is OVER, and the Dubai apartment-which is doubling as a jail cell, along with Real Rashid and Daniel, will all be causalities of Louis's manic behavior like the Vampires have in Paris. In the Book The Vampire Lestat, Claudia comes back to sort of haunt Lestat, but she definitely comes back. Her ghost also speaks to Louis in, I think, the book [Merrik]; she curses him something fierce and then stabs him in the heart (yes, as a ghost). Louis then attempts to unalive himself from the guilt.

When we see Sam's guarding Armand, we also see (especially in the first shot of him there) that he's holding scythe. The coven is also slow a few times to silence outbursts from Claudia and Louis and Lestat going off-script. What if Armand's achilles tendons were also cut, so he'd be slow enough Sam really could behead him with that scythe? What if the coven was also doing mental battle on Armand? When we see Lestat in S1 make all the soldiers leave the home, he gets a nose bleed. Armand is stronger, but this is a larger building with many more people with heightened emotions. It's believable he couldn't pull the banishment hypnosis trick enough to save all three of them. And if he let Claudia live but not Madeline, Claudia really would throw herself into a fire like Armand told Madeline she eventually would, and that might have been even worse for Louis's mental health. If this happened, would you forgive Armand? I do.

Guys remember Lestat is being mind controlled (it's in the books) most likely by Armand, who is the puppeteer of all of this, he just wanted to get rid of Claudia.

I am rewatching that right now. Cover True Blood or Reginald the Vampire. RTV has gay and non binary characters and a very diverse cast. And it’s funny…but no one seems to be covering it. It’s on SyFy.

Claudia was always my personal favorite character in the story. This show really did her character justice, to the very end.

This episode made me cry fr. I love these vampires so much even though they do hurtful shit to each other 😭💔 the only one who's on my hit list is Santiago. He can go to hell. I don't condone Lestat or Armands behavior but I still like the characters. Claudia will be forever my girl rip 😥
