That's their entire vibe! Daniel: Louis, you're hella inconsistent and romanticizing some seriously messed up shit Louis: Oh I know your crackhead ass ain't talking
@@haughtblood Wait... The TV show has aired? I've been hearing about it for YEARS (I think I learned about it in high school, which means about a decade ago) but when it's finally out I don't hear anything about it? What the heck...
The tv show 'Interview With the Vampire' (AMAZING) is the begining of AMC's 'Immortal Universe' franchise based on the interconnecting novels of Anne Rice. Next is the show 'The Mayfair Witches' which premieres on January 8th.
I love lestat I really do, he basically starts his book with: Louis, the love of my life, is a dramatic little bitch edge Lord, so let me tell you the truth, including all the little manipulations I seeded through our life together that really makes me the better person. Like seriously he told Louis he was killing indiscriminately but really was picking out bad people and hunting them specifically, without telling Louis so Louis would think he was a monster? That's either the dumbest lie Lestat ever told or he's such a manipulative narcissist he had to put himself 3 steps ahead to feel smart. Who does that 😂😂😂
@@odile8701he didn't "do him" any sort of way and anyone who takes Lestat's version of events with 100% veracity didn't read the same books I did. It's obviously always been somewhere in the middle but ngl as much as I love Lestat, I still err more on Louis' side. 🤷🏻♀️
becuase he is so human lol how people miss this all the others lost their humanity and he makes the others vamps more human All the other vampires keep lying to themselves that they are not human anymore and Loius Aswell, but louis always shows his human tendencies
@@MegaManDBZX Apparently they're keeping Louis as a main character going forward, according to interviews. I quite like that, I think show Louis is more interesting than he was in the books.
The funniest thing about Louis' character is, that he is very consistent, yet has some slight character development over the course of the series. He doesn't like to eat people, he both hates Lestat and loves him to pieces, yet all he wants to do is be left alone to read his books and have the occasional visit from Lestat😂 Honestly, I think if I was in Louis' shoes I'd probably be in a very similar state given everything he was thrown into😂 and I also hate people and love books, so... Living alone in the house my kinda sorta romantic partner pays for so I can do the bare minimum to keep myself alive while reading books? Throw some pets in with me to take care of and that sounds like a decent life😂
@laurasaua8819 When Louis was a human and Lestat a new vampire, yes, but Louis didn't care about wealth and ended up just locking himself away to read in peace and only go out when the hunger got too bad to bear. Lestat is the one who keeps a roof over Louis head and makes sure he's supplied with books - at least, that's how I remember it. I could very well have gotten some details mixed up as it has been a few years since I last listened to the audiobook collection of all but "Interview with a vampire", which it's been over a decade since I read.
@@laurasaua8819 Actually no in the books both have money. Which is what the TV show did. Lestat and Louis equally spoil one another and it’s actually Lestat. Louis is the one spending Lestat’s money but he does eventually pay Lestat back.
I mean that's basically what the books are like. Interviewer: Were you and Lestat together romantically Louis: um, well, you know... its hard to say. Meanwhile Lestat is just like: yes, I love Louis with all my heart. I'd die for that man! He's my life partner, boyfriend, husband and best friend
I haven’t watched the last episode yet but I hope they clear up the unreliable narrative bit. Was absolutely loving this series until the end of episode 5 when they added in the unnecessary DV that never happened in the books. Now it’s turned into the DV show starring Louis and Lestat and it pisses me off. What pisses me off even more are the people yelling at book fans for being mad at this change. SORRY for wanting to escape into a fantasy show and watching your life-long favorite vampire be turned into your abuser in front of your eyes, and we’re supposed to be ok with that cause evil vampires right? When Lestat never treated Louis like that? That’s not even touching on the unnecessary SA they added with Claudia. Claudia was based on Anne’s real life daughter. Chris Rice hasn’t spoken one word about this series and I’m convinced now that he had to sign a NDA. I used to be such a vocal advocate for this series too.
@@chaotic7cam Totally agree. They didn't even put a trigger warning on the ep5 even though it showed SA and DA two VERY TRIGGERING THINGS! Anne Rice would never have allowed that episode to happen canon to the books or not
@@chaotic7cam I haven't read the books, but I have studied the lore and watched the movies. I can see the similarities of each character through the previous works but the show has to be careful about the liberties it takes because it can be difficult to recognize the characters we (more so you) know. I have flickering thoughts of the show attempting to be divisive at times, but it has been ok, I can't put my finger on episode 7 though. It potentially creates a lot of problems.
@@chaotic7cam In the book Lestat rapes someone, creepy rtnship btn claudia and louis. then u want me to believe DV is what horifies u? And in the book lestat and louis fight too bt just not detailed lol
@@leonard9624 Pardon me, 232 if we're going by the current year. 185 years if we're going from when the story was first told. Excuse me for screwing that up in the first place.
I couldn't handle it and kept hitting the fast forward button until I saw a thumbnail that showed them back at the house, so I could find out if he ate the baby, before I died of old age. 😄
i... who are you trying to get to kiss, because louis and lestat kissed within, like, the first episode. Now, if you meant Daniel, yeah, I can see that, lol.
Im wheezing why is this true??? The baby question scene made me so mad. Like bro just answer the damn question!! I was so worried for the baby i got real mad
I am SO glad you made this 🤣 cuz everybody is making Lestat 🧑🏼🦰 out to be the fiend & totally overlook Louis' 👨🏽💼 refusal to accept accountability for any of his 💩, i.e., HIS--- CHOOSING (never 🚫 being forced) 2 become a vampire 🦇🧛🏽♂️), YET ☝🏾claiming Lestat "stole" his life from him; guilting Lestat into buying him the Fair play brothel 💃🏾👨🏻💼🛌🏤 even though Lestat warned him it was unwise to mix vampire & mortal business (which turned out to be true); guilting Lestat into "turning" Claudia 👧🏽🩸💥🧛🏽♀️ without considering how that would effect Claudia OR Lestat, etc. Louis constantly dodged Daniel's 🧑🦳 direct questions ✍️🗒️, but everyone wants Lestat to answer Louis & Claudia's questions with the unadulterated truth while accusing him of withholding important info. as a "tool 🔧" of manipulation.
@Chris Anthony Giles That IS what I'm saying. People like Lestat are usually viewed as evil or MORE evil compared to other people because he's very overt/matter-o'-fact with what he does, while people like Louis are seen as the "victims" because they APPEAR 2B more passive, which is associated with the victim role, when in actuality they could just actually be covert with their dirt. There IS such a thing as a covert narcissist. And my mom is 1 of them, so I know. But for the record, I definitely think both Lestat AND Louis are highly manipulative, but I don't believe it is rooted in narcissism, but in them not knowing how to express their fears of abandonment & inferiority in healthy ways, i.e. sitting down & being vulnerable through honest conversations with 1 another. They both experienced traumas before meeting 1 another that made them both feel utterly powerless & understandably neither wants to feel that way again, so they manipulate one another to get from each other what they could EASILY attain by simply having honest conversations with 1 another. But I don't believe they are inherently evil & get off of hurting 1 another they way narcissists do just for the pleasure of it. ADDENDUM: The Season 2 Finake just validated my point about Louis being the TRUE manipulator in his & Lestat's relationship --- he admitted it himself. He falls rpright underneath Armand in that department. Heck. He might be above Armand in that regard as he used his love as a bargaining chip in their relationship too with his classic go-to move --- emotional withholding. He played on Armand's fear of being left alone again (after he was torn from his maker Marius & after being left by Lestat, though given how manipulative Lestat was, I doubt Lestat left for (or solely fot) the reasons Armand gave given Armand lied his a$$ off both seasons.
@rosss59 LOL. Well, much to my chagrin (and seemingly of most everyone else I find myself in the presence of), I'm typically the only person to say what everybody else knows is true & wants 2 say but is too scared to say it; OR what everyone else knows is true & doesn't want spoken because it will burst their lil' bubble of delusion. Either way, I take a hit. But I COULD NOT 😤✋🏾 let my vampiric Baby Daddy's, Lestat 🧑🏻🦰, chatacter bear the brunt of the responsibility for his & Louis' ill-fated romance. Louis needs to pull up a chair 🪑2 the dinner table & prepare his stomach to accommodate & share with Lestat AT LEAST HALF of this "humble 🥧 " 🍽 that's pipin' hot, sKrait out the oven, waiting for him to "go-2-town 😋🤢" on!
For me who hasn't read the book and had no clue about Interview with a vampire since this series,I realy enjoyed the show and characters especially Louis.I believe this show deserves more. Also this was soooo accurate 🤣🤣🤣
