HOLY SHIT 0.O I DID NOT EXPECT THIS AMOUNT OF LOVE AND SUPPORT FOR THIS SERIES!!! To answer your questions; YES I 100% will be continuing my Reaction Series for "Interview with the Vampire". Welcome to the channel, and I hope I don't disappoint :3
the iwtv fanbase it’s growing really fast and we are very passionate, so you can expect a lot of support for your reactions! and I hope you stick around for season two bc it gets even better 🤭🧛
This show is incredible. The actors have amazing chemistry. I really hope you can continue this. It's a fantastic show and it, somehow, gets even better in Season 2. The Season 3 teaser has me in a choke hold.
Paul was mentally ill, he wasn't just religious. I feel like that was pretty obvious. Louis wasn't reeled in. He walked forward on his own. It's also best to watch without trying to assign vampire lore from other shows/movies, etc.
Appreciate the clarification. While I still have my reservations about the nature of the... Lestat/Louis "courting", for some reason I didn't catch on to Paul's mental illness. I think normally I would have, but because he was so religious (and to me, it felt like the show focused on this aspect as his primary character trait) that's where my opinion swayed. Thanks for watching btw
@@czest-d7f I mean I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong about assigning vampire lore from other forms of media. A lot of modern vampire properties have taken stuff from Anne Rice. So as long as this guy understands that like Anne Rice was kind of THE blueprint for the majority of modern vampire lore... We'll be fine! Lol I don't think there's inherently anything wrong with recognizing the potential similarities. And the show will confirm and deny which ones exist within Annes vampires.
@@AnxietyRat Especially since this tv series is FULL of deliberate nods to other popular vampire and monster movies and tv throughout the years-in tribute to how it was an old vampire movie that inspired Anne Rice to write her book in the first place, not her literary predecessors directly. It's a deliberate feature of the tv series adaptation to have recognizable features or nods to other vampire & monster movies and tv, not only to Anne Rice specifically, not a bug. I think they blend both Anne Rice's distinct lore and all the various nods to other familiar popular vampire fiction culture from throughout the ages and such really brilliantly.😊💖💖
Oh you're the perfect watcher for this show - believe me, there'll be a lot more to observe and theorize in the future! Please stick with it, loved the reaction!
1:05:11 a couple of seconds prior they show, from behind, Lestat wiping his mouth... So it's kind of a blink and you'll miss it moment but he DOES physically wipe his mouth off and that's why his face is suddenly cleaner lol.
@@Atomic0range oh yeah, for sure. It's absolutely "TV/movie magic"... That quick wipe would NOT make his face as clean as it is... But you can technically physically see him do the wipe!
Oh yes this show is perfect for theory crafting. Especially season 2! I'm leaving a comment here to help the algorithm. I want to see more of your reactions to this show!
As the show goes on the opportunity for theorizing gets deeper! There’s even more mystery in S2 that puts S1 in perspective. It’s such a well written and acted show ❤
OH MY GOD you’re FINALLY watching it! Nearly jumped out of my seat when this popped up. I’m overjoyed. PLEASE try not to stumble across spoilers and don’t watch the movie before completing s1 and 2. Go into the series completely blind and you’re in for INCREDIBLE ride. Buckle up. Thanks for listening to your viewers 😊
I can't begin to describe how much I love this show, and I do hope you continue with your reactions. Season 1 is fantastic, and season 2 is just mind-blowing. I wish more people knew about this series, there's not enough appreciation for it.
I just want to say, I appreciate SO MUCH the fact that you pause to speak!! And the fact that you took the time to explain that you do it and why you do it and that you try not to interrupt the flow of a scene or conversation (that's a great thing to say in the first episode of a reaction series because a lot of people don't do it even though I really think they should. Like, by all means, if you have something to say, it's SO MUCH BETTER to pause the scene instead of trying to talk over it too much. I could feel how much you love movies and tv just be having the sense to do this :) respect!)
When Louis first met Lestat talking to Lily, he told her Lestat said "only the impossible can do the impossible". That is something Lestats first love Nicholas told him, because they were both labeled "impossible" by their parents.
1:10:42 you are so real for saying this. The further you get into the show, the more you’ll realize just how true this statement is. And if you ever start watching any interviews with them, especially with Sam, (the one who plays Lestat), you will be blown away by how deeply they understand their characters. Sam has been a fan of the books since he was a kid and he is super serious about them and about getting it right. He truly was born to play this role.
Unfortunately this show is slowly getting popular but it hasn’t blown up in audience yet so I don’t think your reaction of it will blow up but it is a magnificent show and I can not wait until you react to more. Subscribed!
Always great to find new reactions to this stellar show, and I actually appreciated the pauses to evaluate what was possibly going on (because, in truth, it can be irritating when reactors talk over important dialogue or miss visual cues when they don't)! I also LOVE IT when the quality of work that goes into this show, from both cast and crew alike, is (rightfully) praised and acknowledged - and it has, without doubt, the most beautiful score to accompany all the emotional scenes! Watching these complicated creatures navigate the line between humanity and immortality has NEVER been sexier or more satisfying, imho! Thanks for giving IWTV a go!
You are in for a ride! Everything about season 1 is perfection, and then season 2 goes and tops it! (And I love the way you react to and break down the episode. This show is perfect for that! I hope you can continue!)
Loved your commentary! Hope you decide to keep on watching! This series is my latest obsession and I adore to hear people's thoughts on it. On a side note, I'd not strain myself trying to find "good people" in this show... there's obviously levels of cruelty, prejudice and evil - but in general everyone is not "ok". And just to clarify it, without spoiling anything: Lestat is sincere, I think it's important to note that, while he IS being a manipulative bastard, his interest and feelings are not merely a means to an end. He's manipulating and the pull is made stronger because of his genuine heart and words (he does truly believe in everything that he is saying and in what he is offering to Louis). Besides all the awful stuff he does he's also an emotional mess. We're all sane, and healthy, in this house ❤🎉😊🤡
Appreciate the insight, there definitely seems to be a LOT of discourse (in these comments alone) regarding his "intentions". Though I'm looking forward to finding out more!
@@MovieMan101 the show has a lot of subjective portrayals of flawed characters and it invites us to take sides. Don’t take it personally if people get pissed at you, there’s no “correct” interpretation but people will act like there is and defend it with their lives.
@@MovieMan101 I get what you mean, and in the end "intention" does not change the actions and their results. Our Lestat is a fucked up piece of work, and a monster at the end ot it all. I only meant to clarify that while he's selfish and toxic, he is not an emotionless calculating ´psycho; most of the stuff he does in this episode is him freaking out and going batshit because of it. Though I know I bring a lot of baggage from the books and commentaries from the author, the actors e show producers - so I'm sorry if I sound as if I'm defending him or his actions, I assure you that is not what I'm trying to do. I think it's mostly that there is not any defensible characters in this series, just very complex fucked up shit unraveling at every corner. We're too early the story and my anxious ass may have jumped to clarify something that is not too relevant atm. Sorry of we are intruding too much in your experience of the series, I guess everyone in comment section could benefit from sticking to talking only about the concrete happenings in this pilot; myself included. 😬
Vampirism is an allegory for homosexuality; he wasnt being groomed, he was being courted against his judgment that's wrapped up in catholic guilt and internalized homophobia 😭 The greatest twist here is that you come in thinking it is a horror story, but it is actually a love story, whereas Season 2 is the opposite. Cant wait to see the rest of your reactions tho!
@@czest-d7f lestat is a layered character that unfolds more in season 3--which we have yet to see. but him being an insecure person who carried over his childhood trauma and the trauma of his turning into this desperate need to be loved to the point of abuse does not negate the fact that he DOES love Louis. They are all monsters and we are exploring their interiority
Vampirism is an allegory for homosexuality? Where did you get this information? The original literatures had no such mention about vampires. Vampires are supposed to be living corpses aka zombies that feed on blood.
@@petboy5839 lmfao this is a wendy's (anne rice's the vampire chronicles universe) sir kidding aside, there are a lot of academic texts on vampirism as a metaphor for hidden sexuality and marginalisation as early as the 19th century media as a subtle undercurrent. but i guess if youre viewing anything with a straight white male lens, this may elude you
i get what he was trying to say, but it was still such a shitty word choice. like, the history of calling queer people groomers, gay men in particular, is long and horrible. beyond being outright dangerous to someone's life, it's also a way of invalidating consensual relationships between adults. not saying that was his intent at all, but it just made me cringe a bit.
you got a new subscriber just for this show. I hope you continue watching! it is such a phenomenal show and deserves so many accolades. The writing the actors the cinematography everything
What a first episode…..damn, that was well written, nicely directed, and the cast gave it everything they had. Lots of changes from the book, but some interesting choices.
I actually like when reactors pause and comment a lot, if i wanted to see the show uninterrupted i’d just… well, watch the show. Plus this one really is made to analyze and speculate. Really looking forward to your reactions!!
Keep in mind this series is based on a long book series, they will reveal lore and all that as it goes. Next season for instance, is a season focusing on a vampire that is older than this vampire, and they will have more knowledge about the history of vampires so you can wait for that if you want to know concrete knowledge. The book was published in 1976 if that gives you any idea about how early the 1st book was written
There truly is a lot to dig into in this show. A lot of it is left to the audience to digest and discover for themselves that even the show does not comment on within itself. In this first episode, that is primarily Paul's character. Particularly how they portray undiagnosed neurodivergence in the 1910s and how it was accepted into and viewed by society then. As well, of course, the racial relations and how they affect not only Louis in this time period, but his power-imbalanced relationship with Lestat, and later on, the introduction of the character Claudia. Season two is absolutely filled with the unspoken, and careful reveal of characters as we have previously not come to know them. I absolutely love people nitpicking shows, happy to have your interest in this continue to be explored.
It is also such that the show, not despite of but in tandem with and through this main relationship, exploits vampirism primarily as a way to explore humanity at its extremes, and contemplate existentialism in all its finest. Apologies for the many thoughts, I just like seeing if others pick up the same details as myself. Love the reaction!
So glad you’re starting your Journey down the Devil’s Road. 😈 This show is sooo Damn good. Great discussion & character analysis as always. Don’t worry about pausing. You’re gonna do it a LOT.
Love that you focus more on commentary and don't just rely on the reaction aspect and that you take the time to pause between points so you don't miss anything. So excited to see you journey through this story. Looking forward to you experiencing the 2nd episode
I watched the show a few weeks ago for the first time and I went into it completely blind and honestly not expecting much and then I sat there slack-jawed at the end of the pilot. It's such a great show and the acting especially from Jacob Anderson is so good. Loved your reaction too! It was my first videos of yours, but I will definitely check out more. It's great when reactors actually comment a lot on the show. Hope you'll continue with this show soon!
You’re deadass amazing. You’re never ever looking too much into things with this show, this show is made to be analysed and picked at, this reaction has been such a fun watch (I will be binging all of them now).
This was excellent, and thanks from a new subscriber! Really hope you'll watch both seasons. The twists, turns, and curveballs the series dishes out will test your theorizing prowess to the max! There's not a single element of the show - acting, music, set design, costumes, writing, cinematography - that isn't beautifully crafted. It's top-tier television, and one of the best series I've ever seen.
I'm so glad you're reacting to this series! It's such an incredible show, and not enough reactors are watching it. This is my first experience with your channel, and I really enjoyed your reaction! I didn't mind the pausing at all, because it allowed you to discuss items right at the moment instead of having to try to remember to mention things later. Looking forward to checking out more of your reactions. You've gained a subscriber!
Your reaction was recommended over on Tumblr so here I am new to your channel! Really enjoyed your thoughts and hope you'll continue as the show is fantastic and just gets better and better (season 2 just WOW!)
@@MovieMan101 And on Reddit too now! I would advise not exploring either platform atp as it's spoiler central!! Really happy to see that you'll be continuing your reactions to this amazing show!
@@MovieMan101 oh no do NOT approach IWTV tumblr tag lol. huge spoilers for s1, s2 and even s3 there lol! I saw this recommended on IWTV reddit sub too :)
RU-vid recommended did its job! I’m so glad people are just starting this show, even now as we approach season 3. Also love that you have insights and predictive commentary to the story beats. As people mentioned before, this first season is a love story, while the second one is where the real horror lies.
this is my favorite show and i LOVED your reaction! you’re so insightful and are attentive to small details, which is a perfect mindset to have when watching this show. it’s a masterpiece, and i really think you’ll love it! looking forward to watching your future reactions to it :)
I am not too fond of reaction videos (good reactors are really hard to come by imo), but I really enjoyed watching this! It’s interesting to see a completely fresh perspective of the show from someone who has not seen the movie or read the books. It looks like at this point you’ve only done maybe 3 episodes so I’m anticipating your reactions for the rest of the series! Also, thank you! For saying Daniel Molloy is giving you Anthony Bourdain vibes. That was my first thought as well (unsurprisingly, as a big Tony Bourdain fan).
AHHHHH I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU TO WATCH THIS!!!! i would love to see more of this on your channel but if it doesn't perform well enough for you to want to upload regular reactions i think also seeing your thoughts in a review format would be cool! for me this is one of the best shows airing atm, just top notch acting and so committed to itself and what it's trying to say, and SUCH a cool reinterpretation of the source material.
I don't understand people who complain about comments on a reaction video, but there are those who talk over the characters and then get confused in the plot, apparently that's not what you do, I actually loved the comments you made. I hope you enjoy watching iwtv ❤ one of the best shows at the moment! I'll be watching the other videos on the channel!!
The show is about to hit netflix us so im sure youll have an even larger audience for these reactions ! I love how observant you are, it makes the pausing worth it !
@@MrMgage13 oh ! Well that's okay ! Great news it means the lack of chatter about the new netflix release is just because it hasnt been released yet 😅 i'm relieved I expect it to blow up by the 20th 😄
Lestat is very honest in this episode about his family and past. As for Paul in the book he was a religious zelot. there are two terms that refer to a group of Vampires, "A Coven" of Vampires, or "A Kiss" of Vampires.
Liked and subbed because I definitely want you to continue this series! It is AMAZING, and going into it blind as you are, you'll have an extraordinary time!
I'm here after seeing your reactions recommended on interview with the vampire twitter and I'm subscribing and here for the full ride. I was absolutely blown away by this pilot when I first saw it in 2022 and the show gets better and better
Oh I'm so excited to see your reactions, your appreciation for the production and especially the incredible acting is lovely to see. Jacob Anderson especially is phenomenal in this.
This show is always such a wonderful surprise to people. Loved the reaction, can't wait to see how you react to some of the things that are coming next!
Wooooooo! First time viewer, the algorithm brought this vid to me. I'm so happy to see that you're watching this show :)))))) Liking and subbing, excited to watch the series again with this channel.
Wow I really enjoyed your reaction to this! It’s great hearing theories from someone with no experience with the story and see what got you there. This episode is honestly just one of my favorite pilots ever, and I really hope you decide to continue this series through. I think your style of reacting is exactly what this show needs. Interview with the Vampire pulls no punches!
This is the perfect show for indepth analysis and discussion and it's just pure camp entertainment on top of it all! I am so excited to see you watch this show oh my god. Both seasons are immaculate and I already love your takes and commentary.
Just found your channel cuz I was searching for more reactions of this wonderful show/series. I cannot say enough good things about it! The actors, the writing, the lighting, the directing, the music, everything is amazing! Some of the best television on tv today. Lestat was telling the truth at the dinner table about his past. His father & brothers were assholes & he was abused & you'll learn so much more later on. Daniel Molloy is a fan favorite, I especially love how smart & sassy he is. Btw, Louis is gay & Lestat is bisexual.
A nice change of pace after tons of queerbaiting. Not that I don't like queerbaiting, it makes things spicier, but it's cool to not have to argue with homophobes over two men being in love. Finally.
although i am a fan of the show as a whole, just this pilot episode feels like it could stand on it's own with the way it tells the story and really pulls the audience into the world. the entirety of the show is crafted so well, from the cinematography, to the music and costumes and of course the acting. i can't wait to watch the show with you and see you experience the way the story unfolds.
I really hope you react to the rest of season 1 (and maybe even season 2)! they get even deeper into the characters, and there is so much detail that is hidden in the background of scenes that you'd absolutely love!
love how much attention to detail you have!! definitely will stick around for a full reaction to this series. it only gets better and this was a perfect pilot anyway.
My favorite thing ever is watching people react to this stunning show for the first time, the first book is one of my favorites of all time and I feel like this adaption is truly the best. The writing, acting, cinematography, everything about it!! Loved your reaction and analyzation i will def be subbing :)

I am so excited to see you go through the experience of this show! It's absolutely incredible, and constant questions and theories are perfectly suited for this show!
Let me tell you how HAPPY I am that youtube brought me here through recommendations. This is EXACTLY the type of content I wanna see about my favorite shows: being seduced by the narrative, enamoured with characters, noticing details and discussing everything in depth! Staying here for sure and will be waiting for more vampires from you! (Extra points for being a TLOU Part II fan!)
Your reactions and how you break down scenes is EXACTLY how people should go into this show. This show is so beautifully crafted and not just meant for watching like any other show. SOOOOO excited for more reaction videos to this series 🎉🙏
i didn't know about your channel before but i immediately subscribed! this is my favorite show rn, i absolutely love it and your style of reacting is my favorite. i love seeing people actually analyzing and disscusing what they see, and not just giving surface level comments, and this is a perfect show for that, especially later on! can't wait to see more reactions!!!
Pleaseeee continue watching this series omg I love your commentary so much its so in depth 😍😍😍 this show is such a good one and you seem to be really into it and I love all of your insights… 👀
