The later books make Armand more sympathetic, but you forget what a monster he is.

I think Armand knows that Rashid and Daniel are lying and will kill Rashid. Daniel is safe for now because of Louis. That said, I haven't read the books and could be way off.

He was NOT there the whole time. Remember the lady vamps went to his lawyer to try to find him so they could contact him

Don't discount the Talamasca. Many of them have mind gifts and can read and block minds.

I didn't get the idea that Lestat was there the whole time. I got the idea that he was sent for at the very end,when they decided to put Claudia and Louis on trial.

Sorry to spoil but in the books and movie Claudia gets killed by the coven for being a child vampire and attempting to kill lestat

I have to laugh a bit at how many people are wondering what is going to happen LOL, and shocked that Lestat is back LOL. Ok so (first) Anne Rice wrote 13 novels in the Vampire Chronicles and she and her son Christopher coached AMC on the direction of the series which would stay close to the novels with just time period refreshed to modern audiences. (AKA . from the novel where Lestat makes Louis a vampire on his plantation in 1791 . reset in season 1 to Storyville in early 1900s. Also the novel setting Theatre des Vampires in Belle Epoque Paris (1880s) and reset during WWII. And of course Louis and Claudia in the AMC being recast as gens de couleur. But seriously so sad how many people never picked up a novel ? I would give away spoilers, but season 1 will end with the end of the first book INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. So hopefully with season 3 we will start at the beginning of the second book The Vampire Lestat. But AMC has done an amazing job. Since Interview was written in 1976, it makes sense to revamp to modern times in Dubai and have the original interview of as flash back to San Francisco.. The Theatre des Vampyrs set in WWII area is amazing as the ability to include German expressionism and early animation. Much more avant garde. Most people will not get many of the music references which are brilliant. Such as Lestat and Louis's leitmotiv as Ravel's 2nd mvt of the Piano Concerto in G (1932) which of course is by a gay composer and perfect for the period. Same goes for a scene when Lestat and Claudia are playing the piano duet of Debussy's Pan, (so perfect for Lestat). But seriously I am so amazed when I peruse RU-vid and see posts. WOW I was so surprised Lestat is alive. Or omg I can't believe what happens to Claudia. PICK UP A NOVEL and read! As an acting and music coach I had the pleasure in the early 90s of attending one of Anne Rice's vampire balls in New Orleans. Though I did not know her well, I had the pleasure of also later meeting up with her in Palm Springs (where she was living after Katrina) when she came in to hear one of my performances. Sam Reid is brilliant as Lestat. (so in love) and just a great cas! The resetting makes the AMC version fresh for the die hard fans and I think actually on some level works better than the original novel. I can't wait to see if there is a season 3 .. if they start with the second book as in that we it opens with Lestat and as Goth rock star. so would be perfect to set in the 1980s goth new ro period. Also we will get flashbacks to Lestat's pre vampire days in 18th century France and his love of his mom Gabrielle who he makes into a vampire, the wolf hunts, his asshole father and then the Comedia d'Arte (which we got a flash back to in season 2) and his love affair with Nicholas. And of course the introduction of Marius. .. (P.S.) Also amazed people are so clueless over Daniel and the Talamasca. LOL. There are only 13 books in the Vampire Chronicles. PICK the original Anne Rice books up and read. !
