We would've bought our hot tub off of you had we thought to look this up before we purchased. Just want to say again wow you're RU-vid helped us so much my friend is a wordsmith and couldn't understand the instructions God bless you
That's okay, we're glad that our video helped you out! That's our main purpose for our channel, we just utilize affiliate links to keep the process going and get the up to date picks of the tubs. We'd much prefer our videos are helpful to our viewers above anything else. Thank you for your kind comment.
I purchased this and set it up in an hour on yesterday. If the valves aren't perfectly aligned and hand tightened you will get a leak and see the E90.The first time I hand tightened the valves one was crooked. Unscrewed it and screwed it back in correctly. Then I unplugged it and it reset it. I sanitized mine for 3H. Then last night at 11pm put on the heat. This morning at 6am it's already up to 82 degrees! I know if people who go in it can't be dirty or have any lotions or products on their skin, so make sure everyone even the women take off all make up as well has rinsing product out of hair. Take a shower already before anyone enters as well as clean swimsuits. I put in 5.5 pounds of the Pool Salt and it is perfect. My pool supply guy told me to add the salt every 3-6 months.I plan on emptying and cleaning mine every few months because I have OCD. LOL! The PH balance with let you know....read the manual about the PH balance levels and how it should read with the little stick it provides. All you do is put it in the water and it will tell you exactly if it's low medium or too high. I'm very happy with mine so far and hoping the heat will be ready later today. I did put a tarp under the bubble tarp for ensurance because it's on my deck. I think I'm going to deflate it a tiny bit when I put the cover on so it will fit easier. These are super easy solutions.
We just put ours together today and we're having a small drip from where you tight the cap on the right if your standing behind it. I took apart a few times to tight it.
Good review BUT, there is an elephant in this room on ALL inflatable Hot Tubs,....., COOL WEATHER USE. The air from the bubbles for these units is the air directly from the outside environment. I live in South Carolina so I got months of use from my two units but both had the same issue ($600-$700 units!) from online seller. So, if you have the water at the desirable 104F, and your air temps are under 80-85, I found that your heater will struggle and fail to keep that water at 104F, 60F and below, you will want a sweater on! LOL!!!! "Regular" Hot Tubs HEAT the air to keep the water a consistent 104F in "any" Temperature in the winters, and this is what NONE of the companies ever tell the customer, you will not have that "hot tub" experience in weather where your daily temps will stay 60F or lower. So, keep that in mind IF you want a winter WATERLAND in areas of chilly to COLD Falls, Winters, and Springs. You will have cold air shooting into your hot water cooling the water and your electrical bill will not be as little in the cold months as it is in the hot ones. They are basically a summer pool but with a heater and bubble blaster (which is nothing but a tube ring with holes), there are no "jets" but honestly, both my inflatables were crazy great in the message department- that ring of holes REALLY does feel great, but not when the water is 65F in 40F weather! LOL!!!!.
Hmm.. we’ve had ours in our garage in temperatures in the 30s, (probably 40s in the garage) and have not had any issues with the temperature staying at 104. We’ve done this with several models. With that said, I wouldn’t keep it directly outside in winter months as what you said will likely happen. So far, no issues with cold weather when kept in a semi insulated environment.
The PureSpa Plus heats the air. When you turn on the bubbles and the heater is activated you can feel the hot air. I can't speak for any of the other models but any of the saltwater models have the heated air.
Thank you for this video! It was easy and great for our first time use on our hot tub, the whole salt system had us confused but your video definitely helped understand it!
We want to make sure our channel helps viewers! There are so many things that can't be answered in simply one review video or questions we haven't thought of. We hope we are helpful and we love the comments and questions we receive! We're so glad that our comments have been helping you as well and thank you for such a lovely compliment. 😊💙
Thanks for the great instructions, our hot tub is arriving tmrw, so excited. We bought the Intex 28449EP PureSpa Plus Greystone Inflatable Square Hot Tub - We are putting it on a cement slab, should we put down a foam floor mat for the tube to sit on?
Thanks, I already planned to have side tables/benches on two sides of it. Cup holders no biggie, a lot of people prefer you do not take the drinks into the tub. I will be ok with bringing them in, only if you promise not to dribble lol
I am new to all of this... thank you for the initial set-up video, so useful....any chance you have a video about how to maintain it? what to add and when?
Hi! Welcome to the Inflatable Hot Tub world!! We're glad you could join us. Here's our video over maintenance with an inflatable hot tub, they are all extremely similar and are maintained the same way: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kSV8Bqm3WKo.html We hope this helps!! Keep asking us more questions :-)
Thank you for the great video! My wife and I has purchased a 4 person version of this hot tub. We are experiencing a problem with the bubbler system. The bubble valve, it looks like a flap, on the inside of the hot tub blows off when the bubbles pump is turned on. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
2 questions: 1. Can you use the air jets AND the water massage jets at the same time? 2. Do you need to be on the same WIFI to control it or can you use it even when you are not at home? Thanks for the great review
Unfortunately, the bubble jets and hydro jets do not run at the same time. If you have the app and you've connected to the tub on the same WiFi prior, you should be able to control the tub when you're not at home. We're glad you could enjoy this review! We hope this helps.
Amazon sells cupholders that holds 2 cups and your phone. I bought two of those and they also sell a set of two steps where you can store stuff in the top step and I also bought two handrails and each have a little circle light magnetic that sticks in the handrails, I also put a screen over mine for shade and keep the bugs out, and I also bought a vinyl tent that pops open and fits perfectly over the hot tub
I took the vinyl tent down today and put the screen tent up, but they’re perfect for cold or rainy weather cause you’re under vinyl and the screen keeps the bugs out gives you breeze and gives you shade
This is such a good alternative for the tub's cupholders and a great idea to keep the tub clean! We are glad this worked for you. We just found it weird that this is one of the only inflatable hot tubs on the market that does not already have cupholders installed.
Can you tell me how often should I sanitize the spa? Also why should I set water filter to run daily when it is running wit sanitizing and also with heat on? It was a very helpful video for the setup, thanks!
I like the idea of the insulated cover but it's really bulky and quite heavy. I can put it on and take it off but my wife and the kids would struggle with it. They did apparently sell that that same model with a different cover but have discontinued it. It's super frustrating because the hot tub even has the buckles to attach the smaller cover. I would like to use the smaller cover most of the time and only use the insulated cover when it's super cold. I have the slightly smaller 4 person and the cover I'm referring to is Intex PN 13107
We don't normally look into replacement covers, we do also dislike the cover for the Intex PureSpa Greystone Deluxe (formerly PureSpa Plus) and have noticed it definitely needs some work. We went ahead and did some research, it seems that this cover may work best for the 4-person: amzn.to/3MhIkxt Definitely check it out to see if this would work for you and your model, it seems that it should fit the model based on the dimensions. It also is supposed to weigh under 5lbs so hopefully that is a better solution. It's an insulated cover too :)
@@TubTalkReviews Yeah that the inner cover that sets directly on the water. Ours came with that. It the exterior cover, it the same setup as the one it the video. The intex PN I listed in the comment it basically a rain cover that goes over the inflatable cover in place of the insulated cover. It uses the buckles that are on the hot tub. If you do an image search you will see what I'm talking about.
Hope you can help for some reason we got everything going in up and it was awesome because of your video. Last night when I set the setting to 100 the Wi-Fi was blinking and I unplugged everything to get it to stop and when I plugged it back in we cannot get the hot tub back over 94° The temperatures here in the 70s and 80s. Any ideas???
No, you cannot. If you plan on switching to bromine, you will need to drain and wash the tub before filling and introducing bromine to the water in the tub.
I figured out the filter information ... it is an Intex cartridge filter 11692 ... but I would still like to know if during the sanitization process if there would be a sound similar to a more expensive regular spa makes or it is a quiet process... as well as how long the sanitization process takes... and is there actual water circulating during the sanitization process?
The sound is just a little louder than some traditional hot tubs but it's not obnoxious. If used consistently, you should sanitize the water at least five hours and on days you're not using the tub, you should sanitize for three hours. The water circulates during the filtration process.
Good morning from Las Vegas. Excellent review on this hot tub. We had an Intex round hot tub for 7 years it got a hole I found it patched it then I had another hole which I could not find it lasted seven years but we decided to sell it for cheap and get this awesome six people 170 jet. But I have a problem maybe you can help me… Are older Index was a breeze to fill up with air anytime. This one I see that you have to take off the big bubble tube to plug in the hose to fill it up. is there an easier way to do this…
There’s not really easier way that I’m aware of. You could partially take it off, and have a separate pump (a cheap like air masters one) and use something like that to fill it up.
Hey great review but what to do when one of the valves, top one, is not getting tight, i tried it all and nothing seems to tight it correctly. Is causing me leaks in the top valve. The other 2 are ok but not that one any solution u might know ?? Thanks for the help
That's interesting, that should not be happening quite like that. We suggest contacting the manufacturer to see if they may be able to replace the part. If not, we suggest plumber's tape to fix the leaky parts: amzn.to/4dFdhYT
can you do something on the chemicals it seems like there's a ton of questions on here. How you maintain it after Borax for ph up? and bromine or chlorine( or noo because of the salt?) and BAKING SODA TO RAIS ALK? calcium chloride to raise hardness(assuming water will be soft after salt) ?
Thank you for the review I couldn't get my last portable hot tub chemical mix right. Is salt the only chemical That is need to keep the water sanitized?
Hi! I’m looking at getting this model. However I get super confused cause i want this intex with salt water but I want the hydro jets too. Does this one have it? It’s hard to differentiate them on online stores
So, they did rebrand the original PureSpa Plus, it is now known as the Greystone Deluxe: amzn.to/4dAxXAI and it does not have hydrojets. It does not seem that the comparable tubs in this line have the hydrojets at all. We loved this tub particularly because even though there are fewer jets, we found it to be most relaxing and comparable to traditional hot tubs.
We can’t seem to get our hot tub inflated and we tried everything u did over and over and it doesn’t seem to to work is there any other way to inflate the hot tub we have a gray stone deluxe intex and even the hose looks different than ours
We unfortunately do not have a video on that yet. We will keep this in mind for future videos! Make sure to follow the instructions when adding the pool salt and keeping the sanitizer on as needed and test ph levels with the strips included before getting in. You shouldn't have to change out the water for a couple months and everything should be stable. If the water gets murky and doesn't clear up with the sanitizer being on for a while, you will need to drain the tub. We hope this answered your questions!
Help! We have been have issues with inflation. Once take hose out and put cap to seal inflation hole it won’t seal completely. Wondering if ever had issue or have suggestion. Having issues contacting intex to get support. Thanks for anything suggestions.
You could try using plumbers tape and wrapping it around the threading. or try trying a refund/exchange with whomever your retailer was. Here’s a link for that tape: amzn.to/4ahA2k3
It will stay on until you turn it off. Anywhere from 3-8 hours will be necessary for your sanitation process depending on frequency of usage. The sanitation process turns off when you turn on the heat.
There’s quite a bit of body hair in the tub even after the filter and sanitization cycle. Im aware of preshowering will cut down, but any ideas how to get it out after the fact…
This tub is not listed on Intex site. Cannot get the manual. I have no idea how to maintain a salt water system. Do you have to use salt in this tub? Does the manual clearly indicate the operation. Thank you
The Intex PureSpa Plus has been renamed to the PureSpa Greystone Deluxe, you can find it on Amazon with this link: amzn.to/3VY8tpy We do use salt in the tub. We address maintaining the saltwater system at 03:35. Let us know if that helps any!
@TubTalkReviews thank you for replying so quickly. Still cannot find the manual and still don't know if I can only use salt in this tub. Are chlorine/bromine an option? The only manual I can find is for a round tub and it does not say anything about using salt.
@@troylaplante8599 You can use chlorine and bromine -- no problem. Just make sure you have something to put them in (like a chem ball or something that floats on top the water). I'll look and see if I can help you find an online manual.
Do you have any advice in regards to putting this inside? I’ve been told that it’s not a good idea due to the weight and moisture but many reputable hot tub websites say that it can be done on the first floor with an exhaust fan and dehumidifier to draw out the moisture. This being the saltwater model I would think it wouldn’t have the typically strong chlorine smell either. Wondering what your take on this is
We haven't really put any of our tubs inside because of splash radius, flooding risk, etc. and we don't fully recommend it, however, it's not impossible. An insulation/absorption mat, fans, and dehumidifiers to draw out the moisture is the best way to go. Make sure wherever you put it, you have space for any splashing water and a way to drain and fill the tub without flooding the room. With the Intex PureSpa Greystone Deluxe (formerly PureSpa Plus), the salt converts to chlorine. It smells less chemically but will still have a faint chlorine smell.
Great review of this hot tub. I watched it before I purchased it to see what I was getting into. You covered everything in detail. I’m having a problem with the cover that goes over the tub. The foam inside has balled up in the center. From what I’ve read it must have got wet inside. Everything I read says to take out the foam and dry it. That would mean cutting the cover. I’m going to see if INTEX will cover it under the warranty. Any other suggestions?
Do you have to use the saltwater system or could you use regular chlorine too? Pool salt can be difficult to find in my area if it’s not the beginning of summer. Wondering if I could use chlorine when it’s not available and switch to salt when it is.
The salt link does not seem to be working. Can you verify or suggest what salt to get? Also replacement filters please. And lastly - do you have a maintenance review for this tub? Thank you so much!
Hi there! For the pool salt, try this link: amzn.to/3W5tz5k For replacement filters, we recommend looking at links on Amazon or Intex's site directly. However, the replacement filters can be found here: amzn.to/3W5tz5k (single pack) or amzn.to/3W3Sl5G (multi-pack) Lastly, we don't have a maintenance review for this exact hot tub, but this video we did on maintaining your inflatable hot tub should help with any questions or concerns you have about maintaining the Intex PureSpa Greystone (formely PureSpa Plus): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kSV8Bqm3WKo.html We hope this helps you out on your tubbing journey! Please let us know what else we can help with :-)
Nice review thanks. I see you are using an extention cord to there to power the tub. Have you had any issue? And what gauge cord did you use. Also is the electrical outlet you plug into a stand alone with 20A breaker specifically for the tub?
We have not had any issues as long as it doesn't get wet. However, you are not technically supposed to use the cords because it increases the risk of malfunctioning and electrocution. We just have so many tubs that we end up needing it for filming purposes.
Hi, Netherlands here, i have a question. The pump is quite loud for a device that is meant to relax in. Is there something to do about this? Is it an idea to make a wooden construction around it do reduce decibels? Can somebody comment on that please? Thx, Menno
An approved mat underneath the tub or wooden construction would help reduce the sound. It is a bit louder than some traditional hot tubs because of rubber. We hope this helps!
We purchased the 4 person square intex PureSpa Plus and we are having a hard time telling if the sanitizer is on. Does it make noise, button light up, something? We press it and nothing happens. Help!
Hi there, this sounds like an odd situation. We did have the button make noise when pressed. To test if your sanitizer is actually working, you should be able to test the water about once a week minimum with included test strips to see if your water is staying sanitized. Also, if the water looks murky and continues to stay murky, that could be a good indication that the sanitization is not working. However, some of the different styles of Intex PureSpa Plus hot tubs do not have a sanitizer button on the panel and should be turning on while the tub is on. You should be able to test the water with the same process. We hope your sanitization is working and the button is just acting up!
to order more filters.... what is the filter type and number... also, should there be water circulating and some type of sound during the sanitation process?
I'm looking to purchase this tub as a Christmas present for my husband. Do you have a list of EVERYTHING that is needed for an inflatable hot tub like this one (specifically saltwater)??? I want to make sure I get everything we need! P.s. your videos have been extremely helpful, thank you!!!
I’m skeptical about the salt water chlorination feature, my grandpa replaces his salt water chlorinator on his pool about every year. He also has to scrape the thing out every couple months. Any thoughts?
Yeah, we have never had problems with it. And if you did, there is the warranty. Also, you could also just treat it with chlorine in the worst case scenario and that would be just fine.
The square version has the salt water sanitation. I don’t remember if the circle version also has that. So that’s a plus! Other than that their performance will be fairly similar. Also the square is a bit bigger… downside of the square is it will take a bit longer to heat up and drop temp a little faster cuz it’s a little bigger. Some pros and cons of both amzn.to/3USaD9H
It's technically not deemed safe to use an extension cord. We only did for filming purposes. If you do, you have to use specific ones that Intex approves but it's not recommended: www.intexdevelopment.com/support/faqlist?catkey=306&lst_lang=2
@@TubTalkReviews Thank you so much.... not sure what to do as my kids want it in the middle of the backyard....does it need to be plugged to the outlet 24/7 or just when you are gonna use it? I'm worried about leave it one when it rains and when on vacation
Do all the Intex hot tubs use the same filter/heater/pump unit? I note that some reviews on Amazon hate that unit (leaky and error prone) , some love it, not sure if it's the same unit.
No, they do not use the same units on every hot tub although many do share similar if not the same ones. PureSpa, SimpleSpa, etc. primarily use the same units in the product line.
@@TubTalkReviews I found the the manual seems to suggest the 4-person and 6-person spas use the same pump, part number 13031 (discontinued) . The Intex web site is awful, but I did find a current PDF. The reviews are a mystery. Thanks.
I am in need of help please. I just finished building my hot tub and it’s not wanting to heat up. It’s giving me the e90 code. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? If so what steps should I take in order to get my hot tub running? Please and Thank you
If it’s a new hot tub, my first suggestion to contact the manufacturer, if there’s something wrong with the pieces and parts, it’s their responsibility to take care of it, assuming it’s within the warranty period. Make sure that you change the filter, the filters clean, and everything is screwed on correctly. If none of that works, last case scenario check out this video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-itXsrIgqxjM.htmlsi=gMI2XQk5YUiolI8S
@@TubTalkReviews I got the E90 but you you read the manual it's water the valves are leaking. They have to be put on perfectly straight, then I reset the it by unplugging it and it reset and is now working perfect.
No, the pump will work right away. It also doesn’t charge, it just blows right into the outlet and that’s how it’s powered. Hope that clarifies things!
It’s not well advertised well on the websites, check your instruction manual. If you can’t find anything about it in your instruction manual, then just use chlorine or bromine.
I would say at least once a week. But it really depends on how often you use it. Be sure to use test strips regularly, add chemicals etc, and you’ll get into a good routine
What all products besides shock and the salt you recommended to keep all the free chlorine, ph, total alkalinity and calcium hardness in proper range? Thanks in advance
Sorry read you last comment incorrectly + quickly. A little unconventional, but we use vinegar to lower the ph. Cheaper and mixes in quickly, and truly doesn’t leave a smell. For calcium levels we’ve used this in the past: amzn.to/3QUgr0s
If you’re talking about the pull over cover, don’t inflate it. Just pull it over. I have no idea why it inflates. It doesn’t need to, so it is just confusing.
@TubTalkReviews is pool salt and spa salt the same? I just completed putting water it but I don't see spa salt near me for store pick up but pool salt is available near me
@@dr.melodychase2891 should not make a difference. You choked also just use chlorine tablets too. But if you’ve got lame pool Salt you’ll be just fine 👍
It's a 220 and GFCI protected. Not having the proper cords or outlets could lead to several malfunctions in the tub and potential injuries to those enjoying it, so please be careful and enjoy your tub!
@@TubTalkReviews I do have a Q tho...after that first 5 pounds of salt at the start, how often do you add more salt to the tub generally? And what amount?
Start with 5 cups and check the levels after a few hours with test strips. Add another cup until the levels are just right-- no more than 10 cups of salt. After you've got the levels right, you shouldn't need to add more than 1 cup each time you sanitize the tub. Here's a link to salt you can use for your tub: amzn.to/3RtwnrA
Understandable. Truthfully, you really can’t go wrong with any, but the Intex PureSpa plus has some great features that does make it stand out amzn.to/3PKpAt0
It shouldn’t be doing that, not to the point that it deflates. You must have a leak somewhere. Your best bet would be to contact Intex and have them send you a new one under the warranty. Sucks that’s happening!
The hot tub is designed to only let so much air in, and it will let air out if it is "overinflated". Does it keep letting the air out until it's flat? Or just a bit?
