🤣 That would be a BrowPix Productions type project. Something, Cool Pete might do. No, trying to get this cheap ass Chinese pot metal coated so it won't rust out in a month like they all do. Effin hot today!
Could I do this on a pool that is a couple years old, if I take it down. Mine has some really bad rust spots and I dont want to have to buy another pool. It seems i have to replace mine every 3-4 years.
@@susanm8975 That's exactly what I did I repainted old parts after sanding off the rust it was about 3 years old and looked like garbage right now it's still looking good well in the second season without any ruat yet so definitely better than stock so far
Curious how old your pool is when you took it apart and found rust and also if you just use chlorine or a chlorine generator? I just put up my 18' x 52" XTR. I am chlorine only but had considered going salt. Great job will be following to see how it holds up.
I bought the pool used But the liner turned out to be bad The pool is from 2018 in service until 2021There was interior rust on almost all the tubes but it was a chemical only no salt pool if it had been salt that frame would have been gone already Hopefully with the rustoleum paint and everything permatext siliconed out this one won't rust when I convert to salt in about a month month as soon as I'm done caulking out all the joints with silicone to prevent water from going in there that's pretty much the final step then it's done. They all will rust if you don't do this I haven't seen one last but a few years before the rust comes in and after going over the frame so carefully there is no way that frame wouldn't rust at some point point unless you prevent the water from going in there Never bet again salt water🙃
@@quantumphaser ya I ordered all my salt and salt generator but was hesitant to use it after seeing other videos showing pools rusting but like you said some of them are not even saltwater pools and the salt is very low ppm compared to the total water. I think the water in general, chemicals, and definitely location play a big part. Freezing temps, snow, etc. My pool is a few weeks old now already setup so i may just setup the salt system, make sure I am good about keeping it sprayed off and drying with towel. Problem is it will still get down in the tubes so maybe I can silicon off the opening around the joints then come cold weather pull it apart and do what you did. I have expanding foam used it in my waterfall in backyard. Only couple of months before I could drain and treat. Decisions, decisions. :)
@@daver3681 I've got the same pool 18' xtr and only use chlorine no salt. We have had it 4 seasons 2019. I've got zero rust on mine. At the end of the season I take them out carefully to not scratch them up. Wipe them down with a wet wash cloth to get any dirt off. Then wipe them with wd40 after they are air dried. It's been working great. I was concerned about rust at first too but every video i see with a completely rusted frame they used salt.
About a case. I only foamed the ends to seal it. the rest is hollow. Season 2 and not seeing rust yet, it was rusty before after 3 months. So far so good.
HI Greg. Hey, I had a qustion about your GT2544 I just picked up the same model. looks exactly like yours. Trouble is, I need a new deck belt, and I thought it would be 103 inch belt, so I bought it, and got it home, and it's TOO LONG!! After some research, I guess Cub Cadet made at least 5 different 44 inch decks. I can't find a serial number on mine, so I am just guessing. What size deck belt/model number does your deck use? Hoping you can help me out. Thanks much.
Mine has the 44 inch 3 blade deck the Cub Cadet belt is Model 954-04041 Pto Deck Drive Belt this fits GT LT 44 48 2544 2542 2521 2186 2180. Not sure on the length but that is the right belt.
@@quantumphaser is this the PTO belt, or the deck belt? I have the the PTO belt that goes from the PTO, through the Mule block and back to run the deck, I need the belt info that actually turns the 3 blades, the belt that is JUST on the deck. the 954-04041 is 111 inches long, and like I had said earlier, my 44 inch (3 blade) deck I thought used a 103 inch belt, but it's too big.
@@flyweed This is for the deck only, that's why it fits other tractor models that also had the same deck. A PTO belt would be different as the 2500s have a drive shaft and horizontal mounted engine with a front pulley like a car vs the vertical mount bottom pulley of a regular belt driven tractor.
