Yeah, as an INTJ I really connect with the appeal of finding lost civilisations and uncovering their secrets. But similar to what you said it's not about completely understanding every detail about them but more about discovering and understanding the "main" thing, the most important thing. It's possibly inferior Se in its transcendent, longing aspect, which let us feel this way, because we want to see the real thing like it was, we want to physically see the lost civilisation, more than understanding it. That's why the process of the discovery itself is so important: Because it is the recovery of a lost Se world. And what you described as "wanting to do something with it" could just be the Te way of understanding it. I often understand things better when I apply them and see what properties are emerging out of the interaction with other things than just thinking logically about it.

Your description of the INTJ forward scout matches what Michael Pierce said of them being a sort of traveling alchemist doing their research until they move onto the next town. A kind of packing only the essentials to move as lightly as possible to discover what's out there.

The need to DO SOMETHING with our discoveries is such an important shared quality. As usual, Chris, you have a much better grasp on ESFPs than just about anywhere else here on RU-vid. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I was about to comment on open world video games right when you mentioned Valheim. I am ALL about not optimizing, but instead exploring for more things to see and do. I related so much to your experience and style.

I always believe that we need to look at both sides. A coin always has both sides so I just bring the other side of ESFP. Pls look at tiger king ( joe exotic) plus trump ESxP in general. Unfortunately both of them have heavily impact on our society in mental disturbing ways. Truly sick but………. Common traits Public Attention/ power/ fame at any cost but zero shame but full of pride on themselves. Their motto seems like living for their pride and dying for it. What do you think of?

@@Ella-qg4bq I think Trump has Fe, not Fi. I’d guess he’s the worst outcome of an EXFJ. I don’t see Te in him. I see Fe. His judgments aren’t about if things work, but how they connect to his collective. And this hurts for me to say, because I LOVE ExFJs.

Agreed, In OPS I’m an ESFP and my intuition is double activated. I’ve always connected with INTJs like it felt like we are watching the same stuff, but otherwise are so different. Our lives don’t look similar in day to day, nor do our personalities but we seem to have the same map of life if that makes sense and I think it’s untapped amazing synergy that probably comes from any of the same function stacks interacting. ENTJs feel familiar too, like, I see what you guys are doing for sure.

My mom is ESFP and we went into business together. Our combo of similarities and differences in approach causes a lot of friction, tbh. We do both like exploring, but I need to see what is happening in the future and where we can take things, and she cares about the now and experimenting with whatever captures her in the moment. I get stressed without a plan/strategy and she feels boxed in and anxious when she must adhere to a strategy. I haven’t really figured out how to work together well, honestly. Lots of arguments and frustration, lol.

If it's any help, I'm an intj woman married to an esfp man. We can work together on projects but only if we each have our own (very separate, very independent) job to do within that project. Maybe if you thought of your business w/ your mom as two small business under one larger business umbrella? Then you can both play your independent part to make it work. It also wouldn't hurt to have another person with a different type as kind of a bridge between you two...not sure which type would do that best.

You might like Horizon: Zero Dawn. It's an open-world videogame that akes place in a very post-apocalyptic (like a million years after the apocalypse) Earth, where civilization has regressed to a Medieval-ish era, and knowledge of the world as we know it has been lost to the sands of time. It's a very intriguing premise. And the game overall is very impressive -- especially the storyline.

im an infj 4:17 and bro you dont miss i know this might not be appropriate to bring up on an INTJ/ESFP video but i want to hear more about your infj and istp Ni + Ti “double depth” thing from an outsider’s perspective because that would be really valuable. i feel like i’m the only one who talks about these function pairs in depth (which makes me fear bias but i’m the only one i know who is willing to go this in-depth) and you’re the guy who never misses and is willing to go there too. so i just wanna hear your take on them to see how we’re perceived or understood from the outside. it sort of brought to mind when someone had asked me why “INFJs are so weird with feeling”, to which i answered, Ni and Ti are actually quite similar, apart from one being perception and the other being judging. theyre simultaneously vague and general. but the concept of their focus feels pinpointed, clear and sort of “detached” from themself despite them being subjective functions. although Si is more personal, Ni perceives as though its perceptions have significance and truth beyond themselves (since it is extrapolated from Se data), and such is the same with Ti and its judgements. (to see what i mean for Ni, read this post and the response weirdfella.tumblr.com/post/116934613106/hi-i-dont-know-if-youve-done-this-already-but. for Ti, “Fe/Ti ontology cares less about the empirical certainties of objects and more about the theoretical commonalities between them. The mess of facts and people in reality are manifestations of ideal objects and cleaner principles in the mind. The subject under this mode of cognition sees other individuals as extensions of the self and how all human beings are manifestations of the same ideal object. Because Fe/Ti types see other human beings as extensions of themselves in hopes of identifying or realizing cleaner but more idealistic principles for dictating order, they are typically less direct than the Te type in asserting their will on their environments, but are also less inclined than the Fi type to withdraw their judgements in the name of tolerance, more consistently maintaining that whatever logic applies to them must also apply to others.”) in contrast, Si and Fi are very self-contained and dont extend themselves into places that arent personally relevant, they are aware of the limitations of their scope and openly admit it because of how rich with personal significance to the user they stand on their own. Ni and Ti, by comparison, are Very barren and barebones. they are basically skeletal structures. because of the lack of personal attachment to them, we make up for it by being able to apply it beyond ourselves...but this sort of confidence precludes the want to use Fe, which is where our confidence can be stopped short by factors outside of our in-depth understanding. you can see this by comparing ISFJs and INFJs. although they have the same aux and tert functions INFJs seem more “detached” from Fe than ISFJs because of Ni’s pairing Ti to create comprehensive holistic principles of reality. ISFJ relies on Fe as their first objective function that applies outside themselves, but to the INFJ, Ni and Ti already seem like they exist outside of themself. this can lead to blind overconfidence without reality checks from Fe and especially Se. Ni and Ti are really general, but are Specific ABOUT that “generality”. the concepts of “tropes” and “genres” are both something that encapsulates the combination of Ni+Ti cognition extremely well. categorizing and giving definition to longstanding patterns and narratives. look at carl jung and his focus on Archetypes. plato’s Theory of Forms. how so many INFJs are interested in typology for these exact reasons. it makes Fe and Feelings in general seem like something that‘s just a distraction from perceiving and defining the natural rhythms that the universe falls back on. (and i don’t mean this in a pretentious way.) you can also see this with the ISTP where, as an IxxP, they contextualize and embody their principles. michael pierce writes, “their goal is to be utterly dauntless, that they obtain through self-discipline, that is, the embodiment of a Truth - the contextualization of the universal. It is not sufficient to formulate a law (Ti), one must enact it (Se), but one must also have rules for action, in accord with nature. Knowing the rules of chess is not enough to win at chess - it is a matter of intuiting the best application of the universal principle within a given context, living out of an archetype.” INFJ excavates, comprehends, and communicates the knowledge of those archetypes. ISTP defines uncovers those archetypes by truly living out the logical principles. INFJ is the more “disembodied” of the two, but will not object to flaws in their logic being found through that embodiment. we can see this with plato and diogenes- plato, INFJ: man can be defined as a featherless biped. diogenes, ISTP: (plucks the feathers off a chicken, presenting it to plato’s academy) behold, a man! plato, INFJ: ..man can be defined as a *broad-nailed*, featherless biped.

Yeah, I really don't know why people associate INTJs and ENTJs. Like, have a conversation with both at length, and the differences are very apparent. Never wanted to do anything just for the sake of it, or efficiency for its own sake. I want to accomplish things as quickly as possible, and really nothing more. ENTJs will often think they're the same until you tell them that, "I want to stop here, and I do things this way because I want to," is a valid enough reason. They're more than happy to cast emotions, freedoms, and (what I consider objective)truth aside in the name of pointless efficiency 9/10. Not out of malice but from not even considering people won't agree with them.

Someone wrote on digest Quora Intelligent ( smart) people rejected by society because of jealousy? I’d say high IQ people don’t actually get rejected by society. Instead, there is a well known phenomenon in the psychology of intelligence where people can only have meaningful connections with folks within 2 standard deviations (about 30 IQ points) of themselves. A person with the average IQ, 100, can only have meaningful connections with people 70-130, for example. That’s something on the order of 97% of the population. This communication gap is very stressful for people with 140 IQs and above (and it gets worse the higher you go) because there is only a small subset of the population that can have meaningful communication with them. Plus, I wouldn’t say society is the one doing the rejecting. High intelligence people have different needs for stimulation and they reject society because they’re bored. The primate dominance/power games, status mongering, and materialism that most people find meaningful just aren’t meaningful at all to most high intelligence people. Ps; creating own rabbit hole for happiness is the best bet for happiness without expecting from the outside especially in poor human condition!

@@theultimatedisciple7974 Because, Batman, we live in a world that those who have intraverted thinking are more likely to succeed. As an infp, my Ti is at the very very bottom of my unconscious function stack. That means that it's really hard to think in a linear way, because Ti is basically logic. I have to basically hi-jack a Ti user if I'm going to really get anything done.

@@theultimatedisciple7974 my thoughts are so chaotic. Imagine a floor covered with moving bugs, and you take a broom and temporarily sweep a clean spot, exposing the floor underneath, only for it to be covered again almost immediately. That's what trying to clear a space to think feels like to me. My thoughts are moving around constantly, tons of them, in a disconnected way. This makes linear planning super crazy hard. I get to step one, and it's gone (unless I'm mega stressed out). Without Ti users like yourself, I probably wouldn't make it.
@theultimatedisciple7974
@theultimatedisciple7974 2 года назад
@@RandolphTheWhite1 haha it seems that all of our minds are just littered with what we call “thoughts” that could relate to any of the 4 processes whether that be actual thinking (problem solving) processing feelings, sensory data or pattern recognition/imagination. Meditation will literally help you clear your mind of all that unnecessary chaff I promise. Sit there for 5 minutes a day and focus on nothing but the breath; it’s boring and inevitably you will drift into “thought” but then you recognise you have drifted away from the focal point and you come back to focus on the breath. You will get better at holding clear minded attention over time and maybe this will help you control that clutter and make way for some Ti training. I see my ISFP brother come to sound logical conclusions more and more as we get older (what I perceive to be his experience of life obviously making him aware that he’s illogical and it’s got him into shit and he needs to develop his own logical decision making ability) so it’s definitely possible for you too.
