Nice video but i this list of differences would be more observable. 1. INTPs often seem more attuned to understanding group emotions than INTJs. 2. When INTPs meet someone new they tend to quickly grasp the relationship's purpose whether personal or business-related. Unlike INTJs they usually set emotional boundaries early on and adjust as necessary. They often bridge social gaps by creating shared experiences of joy or challenges focusing more on personal connections than on titles. 3. INTJs might lean towards believing in absolute truths whereas INTPs may see truths as relative reflecting individual beliefs and perspectives. 4. If INTJs notice a mistake they are likely to point it out directly and offer corrections to help others learn. INTPs on the other hand often focus on understanding why the error occurred seeking insight into the person's thought process. 5. INTJs tend to intertwine emotions with various activities viewing enjoyment as part of work. INTPs however usually separate fun activities but can switch between them frequently. 6. INTPs often engage in comparing and clarifying concepts recognizing subjective interpretations. They are generally more open to exploring these differences. INTJs however might see terminology as more objective and are less inclined to make such comparisons. 7. INTJs typically prefer concise answers and might be less likely to engage in detailed concept comparisons than INTPs. 8. When describing event stages INTJs often focus on how each stage leads to the next (A leads to B B leads to C). INTPs tend to focus more on the stages themselves without emphasizing transitions as much. 9. INTPs usually describe reality in terms of properties and structure. INTJs might describe it through movements interactions and changes. 10. When planning INTPs often focus on the goal itself sometimes overlooking the steps needed to reach it. INTJs tend to focus on each step in a detailed step-by-step process. 11. INTJs may adjust their goals more easily based on progress while INTPs often prefer to stick to their original goals. 12. INTPs typically judge options by their likelihood to achieve the goal and might dismiss choices that don't help. INTJs may prefer to adjust their goals to fit their current options. 13. INTPs often seek new experiences rather than revisiting old ones unless they hope to learn something new from them. 14. INTJs might use emotional anchors like books movies or places to strengthen their inner emotional state and will often repeat these experiences. 15. When developing a plan INTJs tend to immerse themselves in the process and might struggle to manage multiple plans at once. INTPs usually view the process as external and can manage it more objectively. 16. INTPs often feel discomfort with projects lacking clear end-goals because they have more difficulty monitoring progress. INTJs may handle such projects better. 17. In conversations INTJs often prefer monologues turning dialogues into a series of turns. INTPs tend to prefer a question-and-answer style.
Yes , but what happens when the intuitive introvert develops their talents ? Writing, composing, inventing etc. to the point that they become highly communicative in that they create ‘manifest forms’ of their fantasies ; and in a productive way? It seems like you are presuming it’s mostly always going to be a dead end for this ‘type’ . This type requires ‘discipline’ ,
I'm pretty sure I'm an Ne type, but I still think I can have super intense and laser focused interests. Even though they're super laser focused and intense, I notice they can be very different to each other and often super random. I don't tend to feel a need to mix them together and I like to preserve them as they are. Another thing I notice is that they often don't do a great job of integrating with the rest of my life. I guess I'd be more "successful" if they did, but I have this strong resistance. If you look at the big picture of my life, my interests do seem very random and impulsive. A lot of time it can also be hard to know the timeframe. A lot of my "impulsive interests" have been around for over a decade. I think it's often harder to find "the story" behind Ne-led interests, so they seem more impulsive to other people. They often are, but I think functions like Si can help ground the obsessions. I engage in my interests to sort of lose myself and become one with the interest. At the same time I don't like it when other people make my intense interests part of my whole personality. They're often random and make no sense for who I supposedly am as a person. I find my interests often involve learning for the sake of learning or creating for the sake of creating. So they're not the most goal oriented.
i do feel like u hit some points, im not well informed about this topic, but stumbling across a couple videos i wondered if this is psichologicalli related to astrologi - isnt everibodi functioning like that but us more aware of it/focussed on it identifi with this kind of concept fitting our aware self perception. like if i was somehow introduced to cars i would probabli have a some favorites too with rational reasons. us are we hobbipsichologists most partli depressed and somewhat loneli seeking shelter in believing something like large larnguage models dont realli "understand" language - language cant describe all concepts and psichogi is philisopic oposed to hard science aint psichologists oblgiged to onli diagnose ppl suffering from or causing trouble as somewhat a placeboesk explanation i heard the phrase using the ni or the ni hindering one but its a spectrum and im sometimes veri creative but also mostli not full of selfesteem and overwhelmed when u should better just run in kind of n autopilot - something i also associate with intuiition is that condition introverted intuition considered autism? mi keiboard is broken
Holy shit some of you guys are trash at functions, Neil has absolutely zero Si and strong Se focus. If you think he is an ENTP, then you are an absolute donkey. Also clearly lacks Ne openness
you said in one of your videos that Ti and Fi are similar to each other and in the video of INFP and INFJ you described the relation between INFP and Te like there is some kind of conflect between the two functions (Fi and Te) that is similar to the conflect between Ti and Te so what is the difference between INFP and INTP or ISTP and ISFP? two types that with the same all functions exept the dominant ones? and their dominant functions that is also similar in some sense
Every single gifted high intelligence person is useless unless it is put to use for the betterment of mankind. Imagine Einstein coming up with his theory of relativity. Wrote it down on a post it and then stuck it on the fridge…and that’s it. I don’t care how gifted anybody is. Do the job you were hired to do. Do it well with honesty and integrity.
Cool stuff, ENTP here.. rogues are definitely cool, but for my taste, they tend to "hide in the shadows" too much. Imo, swap the classes of ENTP and ISTP.
I am more an ISFP than an INFP, but my openness to experience is very high, and I think it comes from other factors like my environment (my father is an NFJ type, so I had resources for intellectual openness and philosophy, and friends who would invite me to try new stuff), and life circumstances. I believe fully that my rather traumatic life made me connect with my intuition more, ask why-questions etc., while also craving sensoric adventures. But I can't explain where my trend towards imagination and daydreaming comes from, when I'm not an intuitive type.
An ISFP is a primarily Feeling type, with more balanced Sensing and Intuition. Generally in the model, people develop their main function (for an ISFP Fi) first in the teenage years, their secondary function (for an ISFP Se) second during the early twenties, their tertiary function (for an ISFP Ni) third during the late twenties and early thirties and their fourth function (for an ISFP Se) last during later times. But people aren't types, and especially circumstances can skew traits just the way you mentioned. Therefore to differentiate between ISFP and INFP in your case, I'd recommend looking at Se+Ni vs Ne+Si. Remember you are yourself and not a type and never should limit yourself by your type. If MBTI helps you uncover and improve upon weaknesses you haven't noticed in yourself or better communicate with other people, that's great, but it still is just a system drastically simplifying a single aspect about the human mind and its personality.
This just highlights how the Big Five works more like a Spectrum clustering together and comparing correlations between different traits, ending up with groups of categories like Openness, which can then be further specified into specific forms of openness. I'll be honest, I quite like that.
I think my favourite definition of intuition comes from Cognitive Personality Theory which is predicated on Jung & more in line with what Jung originally meant as opposed to MBTI. Intuition is simply a broad abstract lense turned inwards (Ni) or outwards (Ne) both of which are cognitive elements not functioning - it must be attached to a codec to be fully operationalised ie NiTi (INFJ convergent function) or TiNi (ENFJ divergent function). I actually, as does CPT don't think there's anything unconscious about intuition at least not for a conscious user hence why many people mistype as INFJ,INTJ, ENFJ etc. It is conscious as say Ni is basically on a continuum with Si extrapolating rather from a number of different data points. It's also important to point out in CPT all types are intuitive in their own way for example an ISFP is a FiNi convergent type & an ISTJ is a NeTe divergent type.
I need to make homework and get a clear image what is intuition. I understand it's not emotional, but i experience very often moments when i know for example that another person have knowledge i'm interested in ... i don't know why, but these strange moments comes and every time it was true and correct. How did i verified that person had this knowledge? as a talk progressed, she simply told me and i've got "aha, so this was THAT information". Not sure how to describe, metaphorically for me intuition as "compass". And not sure if i'm correct. Many times i ignored these "signals" and i regretted every time, because i tought "nah, this can't be true, my mind play tricks on me?". To this day, i'm still unsure if i can name that intuition. What i know for sure i have a lot of moments when ... i simply know, and this moment hit me like a big church bell because i don't even know why.
I think you have good intuition regardless of your type, not all Ni/Ne-dom have good intuition cus there are also Ni/Ne-dom who have low emotional vibration/low energy/depressed. Depression, feeling of hopelessness, & low emotional state preventing you from gaining good intuition. But generally i think healthy Ni/Ne-dom will have high emotional vibration & good intuition cause we are not attached to the sensory world like Sensing types, especially if you are a Ni-dom, you will often feel that you are connected to a higher part of yourself like you've just been disconnected from the world of the senses & just feel peace
Thank you for the precision, I never went deeper into Big 5, cause I didn't see the use for it. It's fun, cause when we have conscious of the unconscious, when we know how our intuition works, it's now conscious.
Umm...intuition functions precisely because those that have this developed function of consciousness are open to experience. It is a receptive mode of consciousness. It's ridiculous to imply that somehow there is some imaginary conflict between experience and intuition. You are projecting. Intuition is not a "construct". It is a function of consciousness. It is one of the 4 functions of consciousness that have evolved in the human psyche.
Hm, I think you may be misunderstanding what is meant by construct. Intuition, as explained by Jung, is a construct that attempts to explain a phenomenon, one of subconscious perception. Openness to Experience is also a construct, one that measures expressions of personality. A construct in this context means a man made grouping or domain of characteristics. Jung explained intuition, but so does cognitive and neuro psychology through other constructs like heuristics. Jung was not the only one to do work on intuition. So Jungs construct of intuition is different from the overarching construct of intuition (which is also a construct). While adhering to Jungs theory is a good working model and is helpful, it should not be seen as the only interpretation of complex constructs like intuition.
Too many people expect that as an “entj” you are some super organized executive from infancy which doesn’t make any sense at least to me. The whole point of the tertiary fiction is that we don’t use it properly - people should expect that especially in youth, ENTJ is very much living in their Se
I think an INTJ in a Ni-Fi loop can somewhat resemble an INTP, due to their lack of execution. I think an INTJ who spends a lot of time internalizing and analyzing their ideas and visions, finding subjective meaning within them, can easily mistype as an INTP, due to their inaction.
I think this relates a lot to addiction. And it’s an element of the SE Grip I’ve really been struggling with lately - but working hard to overcome. Overindulgence, and underindulgence are common. Gorging out on food, smoking, drinking, or not eating for hours, not sleeping, and restricting oneself.
I've always conceptualized my Si as an anchor, but viewed that as a positive thing, it's the easiest major growth point for the ENTP that will have huge positive returns. It's great to have our head in the clouds as long as our feet remain firmly planted on the ground. Si can be that much needed anchor that keeps our feet on the ground.
