Philippines should work with China for prosperity, haggling over inhabitable reefs only prevents Philippine from achieving prosperity shared by other 150 countries who cooperate with China in its 'Co-prosperity BRI', being a pawn for US's efforts to thwart China's further rise. Australia followed it race kinship to side with US, ignoring its domicile South Asian sphere. As China rises, its life will become more difficult or awkward.

China and India have co- existed peacefully for thousands of years before colonisations. China’s presence in SouthAmerica and Africa are purely economic . China’s human rights violations were worse in the 70’s and yet western countries ignored it but now that China is getting stronger, smears campaigns are on the rise. Just very hypocritical of the Western countries. Just as they popped upJapan in the70’s and80’s and brought it down when Toshiba , Sanyo and Sharp appliances were dominating the world markets with the plaza accord and Japan has not recovered since then . China looking at the break up of the USSR can see what democracy has done to Russian.and she is learning to tread the international water with care.

The question I have is about all the surplus talk. Every Country complains about that I just have a question why do other Countries not produce things that China needs to brigde the difference. Does China force us to by the needs that they produce and we need for our comforts and sometimes development. China is a Country that worked very hard to go from abject poverty to what it is today and sometimes this conglomerates misused the working force of a very poor China then. Let's stop all the bitching about China and prove ourselves that we can have our own models and dreams on behalf of our Countries.

When an Indian cannot find a reasonable answer...they drag the mother in law to the conversation and the Indian guy always play the victim.

Both India and China are disputing over a piece of land up in the uninhabited highlands of the himalayas, created by British with malicious purpose to divide and rule. Originally and historically, the land belonged to China. If there is any diplomacy and decency both countries should not allow this issue and problem between the 2 great countries to escalate beyond a border differences. Above all, do not be played into the hand of the USA/UK. Join hand against the bigger threat from.the anglo saxon countries and their puppies. If they remain at that, the western malignant force will not be able to cause harm to both countries.

How come only Philippines has such strained relationship with China amongst the ASEAN members?
@tclim5507
@tclim5507 9 часов назад
Exactly, when most other ASEAN countries do have some territorial disputes/claims over the South China Sea but they do not intentionally stir things up and happy to be the pawn of US. Instead, the rest of the ASEAN countries resort to resolve things in a diplomatic and amicable manner…!

Sementics stirs up a predictable can of worns re interpretations. Most people know that there is no perfect translation or interpretation. The willingness or ability of such attempts often means means rewriting the whole process etc. Culture and timing and of course the speaker play somewhat a role. The intent can affect the whole process. I don't need to add group dynamics can change behaviour dramatically.

Wow, time for China bashing, especially from the Indian professor. Nothing surprise me from what is coming out of his mouth. We expect more from a “learned” person, but, he is saying things fully from a very biased Indian’s perspective.

It was the indian colonel who led forces to enforce unilaterally newly drawn indian border at ladakh, after abrogation of article 370. So Pravin Sawhney of the Force Magazine thinks it was not the fault of china. This is the continuation of indian expansionist policy... Perception of india's neighbouring nation, non china? Posting found Let's see how much land India has taken from his neighbors. ---Annexed Kalapani from Nepal in 1962; ---Annexed Turtuk from Pakistan in 1971; ---Separated Eastern Pakistan from Pakistan to become Bangladesh in 1971; ---Annexed Tin Bigha from Bangladesh in 1972; ---Annexed Sikkim to become one of its states in 1975; ---Tried to invade Mauritius but failed in 1983; ---Committed massacres of Sikhism, captured their territories and attacked Harmandir Sahib so Sikhism believers assassinated Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984; ---Invaded Sri Lanka in 1987; ---1st time invaded Bhutan and failed in 1990 due to international pressure, but has controlled its defense and diplomatic affairs till now; ---Supported and financed the terrorist organization Tamil LTTE to rebel against Sri Lanka government but gave it up later under great international pressure. The betray triggered huge anger of LTTE so it assassinated its Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991; ---Annexed Dooars from Bhutan in 2006; ---Annexed Moreh from Myanmar in 2013; ---2nd time invaded Bhutan but failed in 2017 due to international pressure; ---Tried to invade Maldives in 2018; ---Invaded Nepal and one of its soldiers was shot dead by Nepal Security force in Jun of 2020; ---Keeps nibbling lands from ChinaTibett and Kashmir that led to a war in 1962 and border conflicts with China till today; ---Keeps nibbling lands from Pakistan Kashmir that led to daily border wars and gun fights; ---And more….
