Elsa: Lisa Stokke - ‪@LisaStokke‬
I swear, if they were not written by the same person, the Danish and Norwegian lyrics of this movie must be the result at least of a collaboration between the two countries: the result is way too fucking similar in too many passages of all songs.

Elsa has so many beautiful and powerful voices but, in my opinion, Norwegian is one of the best fitting. Not only because of the language but really of the voice. I totally hear Elsa sing, and not a singer. :)

May I just take some time and admire how well crafted the translation is? "Terra incognita" - this is honestly breathtaking. Amazing lexical choice there. As for Lisa, she definitely improved since the first movie came out. Much more fitting and I feel she's gained more control over her voice here, while still delivering an expressively heartfelt performance (like her version of Let It Go). I'm having a hard time spotting an Elsa that isn't great, and Lisa is no exception. She's phenomenal here.

Elsa is actaully Norweigian and for English, the lyrics are Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah-Ah-Ahh I can hear you, but I won't. Some look for trouble, while others don't There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day And ignore your whispers which I wish would go away, Oh oh oh Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Oh oh Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ahh-Ahh You're not a voice. You're just a ringing in my ear And if I heard you which I don't I'm spoken for, I fear Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls I'm sorry, secret siren but I'm blocking out your calls! I've had my adventure, I don't need something new I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you Into the Unknown Into the Unknow-own Into the Unknown-oh-oh-own Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah-Ah-Ahh What do you want? Cause' you've been keeping me awake. Are you here to distract me, so I make a big mistake? Or are you someone out there, who's a little bit like me Who knows deep down I'm not where I'm meant to be? Everydays' a little harder as I feel my power grow, Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go Into the Unknown? Into the Unknow-own Into the Unknown-oh-oh-own Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Are you out there? Do you know me? Can you feel me? Can you show me? Oh-oh-oh-oh Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Oh-oh-oh-oh Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Ahh-Ahhh-Ahh-Ah Where are you going? Don't leave me alone! I always watch this in Norwegian with English subtitles on Disney+, despite the fact I only understand English. This is because I prefer the setting’s main language for realism, even though the whole point of foreign language dubs is to allow non-speakers of the movie’s original language to understand what the characters are saying.

Native language aside, the Norwegian dub really _does_ fit Elsa best. Lisa Stokke has the _perfect_ voice: powerful, but also young-sounding and full of expression. This isn't some 40-year old woman belting her face off to prove what a great singer she is. Her voice serves to tell the story.

In the first movie we were like «wtf is arendelle? Is it suposed to be Arendal?» Cuz in norway there is a place called Arendal and we were all so comfused.

:) Translation: I’ve always been kinda «oh, I’m Norwegian - how boring. There aren’t any other countries that like Norway the way they like South-Korea and Japan» But after reading the comments about how well people liked the norwegian version, I feel a little happier about being norwegian. :)

This is the real English translation: can hear you but I won't Some look for trouble while others don't There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day And ignore your whispers which I wish would go away, oh Whoa You're not a voice, you're just a ringing in my ear And if I heard you, which I don't, I'm spoken for I fear Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls I've had my adventure, I don't need something new I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you Into the unknown Into the unknown Into the unknown (Oh) (Oh) What do you want? 'Cause you've been keeping me awake Are you here to distract me so I make a big mistake? Or are you someone out there who's a little bit like me? Who knows deep down I'm not where I'm meant to be? Every day's a little harder as I feel your power grow Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go Into the unknown? Into the unknown Into the unknown (Oh) (Oh) Whoa Are you out there? Do you know me? Can you feel me? Can you show me? ooh (Ah) ooh (Ah) ooh (Ah) ooh (Ah) ooh (Ah) ooh Where are you going? Don't leave me alone How do I follow you Into the unknown?
