In this video, we were called by a local police department to tow away a truck after an intoxicated driver ran off the road, into the marsh and got stuck.

For the first part of the video... Why is no-one wearing Hi Vis? Is it a local thing ??? It's a safety thing.... what am I missing. Watched the entire video.. Great recovery... lack of Hi-Vis is very concerning. Stay safe Dustin and 1st Responders. Name of the game is getting home safe 1st, not getting the road open Dustin.

you are right about not driving the truck on the bed I did it once with a car with muddy tires and back wheels got track on and the front one's sled off the bed and took out the oil pan so he got a free tow and new oil pan

Another great video, thank you. I only have one criticism, Nathan needs to leave his phone in the truck. For the most part, he was 99% on point. But I did catch him a few times looking at his phone when he clearly should have been paying attention to what you were doing. Even one time while he was moving the F150. Clearly that was only a few moments. Nothing is that important, especially when you're compromising safety, even for a split second, anything can happen. Safe safe out there, my friend.

Truck sitting there idling in drive for the first little bit, lol. Good thing it was a 2wd truck, if it was 4x4, he'd probably have been a couple hundred yards further out in the marsh.

Dustin, would it be possible to produce a vid showing your truck and all of its functions while in the yard? Possibly when you are doing a clean up so we can see all of the different types of kit you have in your trunks and their functions. Unless you have already done this in which case can you point me in the right direction. Cheers

Just curious why not pull it from the front so you could have more control of the steering and keep it out the bushes? I'm sure there is a reason but just judging off what I can see in the video just seemed like it would have been easier doing a front pull 🤷‍♂️

Also on police calls like this you need to get in and get out. What he did was the fastest option. If he where going to hook to the front he'd have to dig around in the mud to hook to the lower control arm or the frame because there were no hook points on the front bumber area.

Not sure why. It’s an incredibly useful tool that requires hardly any space to store and less maintenance than a hard mounted side puller, and takes less time to setup.

It’s not just about the liability that Campbell’s towing would have if something happens to the vehicle if it rolls off, or runs into the back of the cab. But think about the people at the scene. It’s pitch black out there. There’s more visibility if Dustin is outside of the vehicle. Also if Dustin were to get injured that’s a hit to Campbell’s workmen’s comp insurance. The liability goes up. It’s simply not a good practice. Does Mason work for Campbell’s? I get to open the road, but……

You watch a lot of my videos. So you know I always say, never drive them unless it’s necessary. In this case, I’d rather move it off the road and get everyone out of that S curve where we are sitting ducks for the next drunk.
