Anna, even poor farmer students like me also have access to your videos and we are writing exams i dont know how much thank you to say you so much happy we are to learn from neso
NESO ACADEMY you have done a great job in online education. I am an faculty from National Institute of Electronics and Information Techjnology, Govt. of India. Is there any way to have an online learning for PC Hardware and Networking tutorial with u as an interactive session.
i think there is a mistake at the last part of the vide, in n type, there is supposed to be majourity holes, because trivalent atoms are added, then in the p type there is supposed to be majourity electroncs since pentavalent atoms has been added, please take a look and take us know, if i am wrong please let me know as well. thank you.
Very wonderful series of lectures. I have a question. In the last section of this video, the donor atoms are represented by +ve ion and acceptor atoms by -ve ion. Is it true that in n-type semiconductor material, the number of free electrons will be equal to number of +ve ions and in p-type, number of holes equal to number of -ve ions? Thanks in advance....
Due to temperature some electrons gain enough energy to break their covalent bonds , " jump " the energy gap and reach the condaction band. Those electrons leave a hole behind at the atom which they abandoned , hence the holes in n type. In p type , the electrons that broke free(for the reasons mentioned above) are the minority charge carriers.
In an intrinsic semiconductor, the covalent bonds are so weak that they break even at room temperature by absorbing the heat energy from the surroundings. So when the bond breaks, you get the free electron. This is why at absolute zero (0 Kelvin),where there is no heat energy to absorb from the surroundings, intrinsic semiconductors can't conduct electricity because they lack the required energy to break the covalent bonds to create free electrons.
A hole is an empty place where electrons used to stay. It is not a physical entity but helps in making the calculations and understanding concepts easier. On the other hand, ions are atoms that have lost either lost or gained an electron and thus have a charge induced on them.
sir upload analog electronics lec on like amplifier,,,,,,,,,,,,,,single multi stages or amplifier related to analog.....becoz all analog parts related to amplifier,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,semicondutor are related to BASICS ELECTRONICS ....provide related to amplifier
The hole represented in Trivalent doped semiconductor is with the Sillicon atom and not Boron atom. but some books represent it the other way round, like they represent the hole with boron atom and not sillicon atom. Is there any problem? or it is okay with any both the conventions?
Anshul Kumar BRO BOOK WALA CURRECT HAI.... Because hole means electron ki kami and boron has three valance electron...so in fourth covalent bond only si give electron not boron
