I love working it’s my hands and fixing stuff and I really want to be on an aircraft carrier and be around those planes. I’m not sure would rate fits that the best

Hey Arlo. If you like fixing stuff and want to be on an aircraft carrier, you have alot of options. AM/AD/AE/AT/AO, etc are all fixing aircrafts. I would personally recommend AO though. I always envied their light workload compared to AM’s lol

Thanks for the video. I am going to be a AM. Going to boot camp in august. But I am joining as a FTS. Do you have an idea what AM would look like while being full time support?
@limitlessky5784
@limitlessky5784 3 года назад
For FTS, you pretty much work the same hours and work the same in your assigned command but you just don't go on deployments unless you volunteer to do so. I always thought joining as an FTS has bigger advantages however, there are limited options of where you can get assigned.

I am currently in the Navy right now, and I am a CS, trying to cross rate to AM. Really feel like the job is for me,. Do you have any advice for me to go through the process, since you where successful in cross rating?
@limitlessky5784
@limitlessky5784 2 года назад
I haven't looked at CS rate's manning situation right now but usually if the rate that you are in right now is overmanned than the rate that you are trying to crossrate, you have a good chance of doing so. I would start by contacting/talking to your command career counseler (usually an NC) and talk about your intentions. Cross-rating with your own intentions is an unofficial process that are done in special cases so you most likely have to put in the work such as doing On-the-job trainings, recommendation letters, NKO (e-learning) courses, and any other certificates related to the rate you're trying to cross-rate to.

Hey Skyler, please! I have a question The AD Tech can take the NDT C school or NDT C school is just for an AM tech? I want to be an AD turboprop tech, I want to do turbo and propellers overhaul and After I want to be in NDT department. It is possible? Thank you so much for your videos and everything you do for the community 🤙
@limitlessky5784
@limitlessky5784 3 года назад
Hey man! To my knowledge, both AMs and ADs have opportunities to go to NDT C schools. They are fairly hard to get into but you definitely do have a chance.

Hey, I just signed my contract as an AM and I'm thinking after my contract just leave the military and work a civilian job. After 5 years, do you think you are capable of being an aircraft mechanic outside of the military or you didn't learn quite enough to be able to do it in the civilian world?
@LaVinciNoir

Im going to boot camp tomorrow. Im at the hotel and i am wondering the same
@limitlessky5784
@limitlessky5784 3 года назад
Hey man! I have alot of friends that are getting out between 4-8 years of service and smoothly transitioning over to the civilian contract job, working on aircrafts. There are definitely those who went and got outside the military qualifications such as Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) and was able to get a higher job position as well. So overall, yes, 1 military contract is enough to be capable of being an AM outside the military

So I’m wanting to be an am. I still have two years of school and deciding between Air Force and navy. I want to travel as much as i can and i know i will get that in the navy. If i went in as an am in the navy would i deploy on a carrier or strictly shore duty.
@kona2544
@kona2544 Год назад
For sea duty You can get orders to a squadron that deploys onto carriers working O-level or you can get put straight onto a Carrier or Amphib working I-level. For sea duty, I believe you can get orders working I-level on a NAS. (Not sure about this one I’m a new junior sailor)

Ima be honest the a school is awful imo tones of hw (no time to study) then test. It’s very stressful and already making me wish I didn’t join or to get medically sep. You sit for about 7-10 hours doing hw then once you’re done you’re so exhausted you go to sleep, next day hw for about 5-7 hours exhausted again, next day study, then test. You haven’t learned nothing but you did the hw now you test, remember anything? No because the hw is too time consuming. Now look at you tired af taking a test, you pass good now next 10 lessons in 3 days with hw and a test. I’m only 4 months in doing a long 4 active 4 reserve contact. Prey for me plz I hate it so much.

@Failure567
@Failure567 14 дней назад
@@ORCAPLAYSWOW honestly just A school suck because you have freedom but it’s like bootcamp with less rules. Once you graduate A school you’ll get sent to C school and you’ll get your orders around week 5 in A school to see where you’re going to be stationed permanently. I’ve done my first deployment and it’s not bad as people think. If you have a question just reply to this message.

Hi how about AD?

Aviation in general is pretty hard labor. I would still recommend AD over AM though. But I would more recommend AO over those two.

Hello, I just passed the navy exam, what job do you recommend for women
@limitlessky5784
@limitlessky5784 2 года назад
I mean, it really depends what your interests are. There's many females who are good at doing physically demanding jobs whereas others that are good at desk jobs. From my personal experience though, I think there are more females in the YN, PS, NC, IT, IS kind of rates.
