I've been watching all kinds of videos but you're the first one to show me how too actually hook the leads to the Modis scope we recently got :) Thanks from a lady viewer and I sure dig the multi ground setup....more things needing to buy 😄
This is such an awesome video for us first time scope guys I can’t wait to see more videos that you make!!! This makes it simple to understand and learn. Also can’t wait for your meter leads to be back in stock I want 4 channel shielded.
for somone who picked up a 2nd hand verus pro (very cheap!) mainly for the scope to start learning this video was brilliant i do agree only fault on this scope is the zooming feature.
Brandon, thanks for information i think a lot of techs could learn a lot from ur channel one thing i want to add the AC coupling when we used the system take the DC out of the picture and show us only AC signal as u now when we do relative compression or checking the fuel pump and so on and keep it up . cheeeeers
Thanks for the input! There are tons of different uses for the ac coupling. Relative compression being the biggest, or ac ripple testing an alternator.
Great video finally watched it all the way threw learned something since the scope belongs to the shop can play with the scope like if it was mine , diag every day ese
Interesting video, just started a 2109 F350 flood vehicle, someone else has already messed with it and swapped a uswd Body Control Module in which activated the anti theft mode and locked everything down. we are finding modules with corrosion and nor need to figure ouit which modules are stopping the gateway communications and preventing reflashing with 'as built' data. this is a start to what may be a long journey.
thank you, im a pico user, but the shop down the road wants to learn but has a snaop on zeus, so i sent him the link so he can learn to use his tool, so i can help him on setup
That’s what it’s all about. Helping the other person, this raises our industry more than anything else. And don’t worry, I’ll be doing one on the pico as well.
Vantage legend is a great scope, very similar to the vantage ultra I had at the beginning of the video. The locations of each feature might be different between the Verus edge and the Vantage Legend, but they should still all be there.
On your table in the bottom right-hand corner, closest to the camera, there is a Snap-On signal generator. That is probably the most useful tool to learn about how to use a scope and what the signal should look like. Where can I find one? Hopefully it doesn't fall into the Snap-On price range. Or does it come with the purchase of one of the Snap-On scopes only?
That one is from Snap-On. But they can sometimes be hard to get. We offer the one from ATS, if you want to reach out to us on our site, we can get you a quote.
Great video . I just bought a verus edge and I have never used a scope before . I was wondering before I play around with it if anyone can tell me if you are supposed to just lay the alligator clips over the wire or are you supposed to actually squeeze the alligator clips so they Pierce into the wire
You only use the alligator clips to connect to metal surfaces. If you need to probe in to a specific wire, you will need piercing probes and back probes. www.jarheaddiag.com/shop/p/flexprobes www.jarheaddiag.com/shop/p/w3nkgxn4390jnsjbb0bbnq32cs8c9d
Thanks Brandon! There are a lot of mechanics that are getting left in the dust. They need to become techs. Things like this are very helpful. BTW, where did you get the shielded leads? Davie
Thank you sir! In today’s age, technicians now more than ever need to step their game up. With the advancement in vehicle technology, we need to raise to the occasion. As far as the leads, we have some on our website. Click any of the links above, and you can find them.
Hi, I have a Modis Ultra with 50 V AC and 75 V DC with a 2-chanel-scope. I have heard, that I can still measure the ignition primary voltage without an attenuator....is that right? Thank you for your answer. Great video!
The ATS 500 psi transducer works well with the Snap-On scopes and even calibrated with the software. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nqTe0uoVC2I.html
What do you think about compatibility of other after market probes?I have a versus and a snap in amp clamp. I recently purchased a otc and a hanger capacitive pick up probe/wand and having a hard time getting a good secondary wave. What are your experiences with aftermarket probes? Great video by the way, I have learned more about my snap on from your video than from the official snap on training videos... thank you
For a secondary wand, some coils will show up and some will not. Depends on if they’re shielded or not. Try on different vehicles. Also play with time base and voltage. You should be reading in the mv amount.
Have a question. On my Snap-On scope Verus Edge, the yellow lead has two leads on one end and three on the other. What's that for and how do you hook them up? Also, when do you use the shielded leads verus the non-shielded leads? Thanks
The one we have is the Snap-On one. But that one is sometimes difficult to get a hold of. We offer the ATS training board. If you want some info on that, shoot us an email customerservice@jarheaddiag.com.
The leads we use are from Warwick TS which we have on our site. As far as amp clamps, Snap-On does offer them. But for the price of one from them, you can buy a high and low amp from us. www.jarheaddiag.com
The snap-on factory yellow and green leads come with shielding and dedicated grounds. The red and blue do not. Honestly they’re not bad, especially for the level of precision required in automotive. When they get worn and the resistance grows, I’ll definitely replace them with something from ES.
@@JarheadDiagnostics you’re 100% correct, but so far I haven’t run into a situation where I can’t find an injector fault by simply comparing two. Plus, your snap-on rep will happily sell you some additional overpriced shielded yellow and green leads. Lol.
@@JarheadDiagnostics as background, I use a Hantek 4-channel (Launch) with my Maximus 3.0 tablet and my modis edge 2 channel, and only ever work on light duty (1-ton and under) doing troubleshooting for 3 corporate chain shop locations
Brandon ,will an older power adapter for pressure transducer on snapon scope, the ones that went to the aux 9 pin din plug allow you to use an ats pressure transducer on a snapon scope like verus ?
I’m interested in the Shielded leads and the multi earth cable that showed, I have the Verus Edge. I’m in Australia can you give me a price delivered. Thanks
If you click on any of the links in the description, you’ll be able to find the prices. We deliver to Australia, so feel free to order away if you’re ready.

@@not_me_not_you_not730 can you do in cylinder pressure transducer, and Mark timeing 720 degrees?, I was thinking escope or pico but if for two gz more you get scope and top of da line scanner autel for the win
@@trublue2319 for either one, the pressure transducers are separate, and expensive. Get the maxisys ultra not the snapon. I hate my verus edge now that I have the maxisys ultra
