Excellent video and very useful. I’ve not seen the use of throttle , prop and mixture explained so clearly before.

You have a talent for teaching. I'm a few weeks into flight sims and gotten somewhat comfortable with the basic flying mechanics. I'm using the Logitech yoke and throttle quadrant and was wondering what the other levers are for. You managed to explain not just what they do, but what they are for and when they should be used. Good job!

Good video. I'm backwards, and have flown mostly jets, but now getting into props, specifically the Bonanza (variable prop) and SR22 (constant prop). For the former, I sort of figured out on my own how to adjust all three levers, but this video solidified it. Thanks!

Props are a ton of fun once you get into the more complex ones. I’ve got a video coming out in a few weeks on the Blacksquare Bonanza that covers a ton of details on flying it.

This is very good and comprehensive. The only thing I can think of that I do in addition to this is adjust Throttle & Prop for Cruise Climb (Vcc) after climbing above 1000ft AGL after takeoff provided there are no obstacles like mountains I need to clear. This isn't really that necessary, but reduces trip time and fuel consumption. Vcc speeds/settings will vary by aircraft, and may even be a range of options. It'll be outlined in the plane's POH.

Not to be bothersome, but do you happen to have a link to a list of power settings (especially cruise) for various aircraft in the sim? Possibly a google drive link or something similar?
@RydalS

Look up "pilot operating handbook" for the particular aircraft you want.

@flight sim school whenever I move my mouse on key pad or just a regular mouse it cuts back my throttle so you know how to fix this problem?
@FlightSimSchool
@FlightSimSchool 2 года назад
It sounds like there is a bindings issue. I’d start by going into controls and then switching back to the default preset for the mouse and keyboard and see if it still happens

@FlightSimSchool

I'd start by checking the binding in the controls, and then check the sensitivity curve on it. Hope that helps!

Does the throttle control air or fuel?
@FlightSimSchool
@FlightSimSchool Год назад
The throttle says how much fuel can be sent to the engine. The mixture has final say on how much of that actually gets through though.
