Except the robot probably won't. "Tell" it something once and it never forgets. Is at the job site 24/7, will work through lunch and dosn't need breaks.

Highly unlikely as this piece of equipment implements BIM software that has the precise locations of steel and reinforcing work including PT.

And for those who tried arguing that automation couldn't take the more skill based jobs that require experience, I'll just point to this, because in the next 10 years, when these robots become extremely inexpensive, humans will be getting fired without any replacement jobs available. It'll make the job loss of 2020 look like a vacation.

Also, just look at CN rails in 1980 compared to now, 120 man crews cut to 14, 14 is a big crew on cn now

My man if you truly believe that robots will make every trade obsolete in the next 10 years your dreaming. I’m a plumber and unless a robot can adapt and move around any environment indentify the hundreds of thousands of different possible problems and make sure what they fixed stays fixed without running into any issues then by all means humans are useless. But currently robots are no where near smart enough to navigate in any environment on there own without any prior knowledge of that environment. Simply put robotics are not currently flexible enough to do certain jobs because robots need information to process things and visual info is no where near good enough yet.

@@Brother8237yes, the robots will be able to do that. Hundred of billions of dollars are being pumped into the development of this. The scientists who build these things make trades people look like absolute morons in terms of cognitive function. You’ll be jobless, and you won’t understand why.

None. How many jobs do you know of that are that open and flat? I’m sure it has a limitation on height as well. No contractor in there right mind would spend the astronomical amount of money I’m sure hilti wants for this waste of metal. It drills the hole for you that’s just fantastic. Your still running around in the same spots to place your hangers. In addition the job would have to be very well coordinated for it to work. If the job is new construction out of the ground you would be installing drop ins on the steel decking before the floor is even pored.

Does the drill check for underlying steel reinforcement or strands to avoid clashes?
@HiltiNorthAmerica
@HiltiNorthAmerica 3 года назад
Hi there - The Jaibot uses the Hilti PLT 300 total station for indoor localization, reducing the risk for positional errors. If the trades are well coordinated in advance, it reduces the chance for clashes and costly rework. Hope that answers your question. Thanks!
@MC-ss6pj
@MC-ss6pj 3 года назад
@@HiltiNorthAmerica If the trades are well coordinated in advance, it's likely that cast-in anchors would be used to avoid post-drill and fix. Often due to differing stages of design development, such co-ordination is difficult; that is one of the reasons why post-drill and fix anchors are used. If a reinforcement detection tool was included, it would reduce the risk of clashes.
@somebody7844
@somebody7844 2 года назад
@@MC-ss6pj This is true for new construction, but I see this being used extensively in renovations without q decking

@craigmaiwald1333
@craigmaiwald1333 4 месяца назад
@@MC-ss6pj Then I would recommend scanning the deck before the concrete pour. Take the 3D point cloud and overlay it into the model. Create "no drill zones" around objects of concern like PT and place your anchor holes elsewhere. Including a layer of complexity by adding some type of scanning device (GPR) to be used on the fly for every hole would reduce productivity not improve it. Scan, design, drill and install.

It just seems way to specific of a machine to be useful on most job sites. It’s so big to do only 1 function. A human on a ladder can do most anything, this 1. Not to mention if it breaks down then you’re fucked, humans are far more replaceable and multi use than this thing.
@TheRandrx2
@TheRandrx2 2 года назад
This helps reduce ladder falls on the jobsite (#1 injury in construction). Also, this is about the size of one person on a lift. "Humans are replaceable" is not a safe mindset.
@craigmaiwald1333

All commercial jobs have systems attached to the ceiling. Some building are renovated and need everything replaced. JAIBOT takes care of the anchor holes (layout and drill). Some jobs are new and there is not enough time to design before the concrete is poured. JAIBOT takes care of the anchor holes (layout and drill). Some jobs could be scheduled to be poured more quickly and JAIBOT could layout and drill the ceiling holes for the anchors. Then prefabricate all the system components that you can and easily attach them when you are on the lift. Concerned about what is already there? 3D Scan the ceiling and use that as a basis for design. Design as many holes as you can that are reachable by JAIBOT. You are welcome to drill the rest manually. This tool and many other robots are designed to improve an industry for all of us in it.
