I’ve always liked behringer. As a broke teenager, behringer pedals were the only thing I could barely afford. I remember buying one and expecting it to sound horrible, but I was pleasantly surprised at how usable they were. I was too afraid to step on them in case they broke, but I still have an eq from that time. When I got older and got a job, I could afford much more gear, but I still kept coming back to behringer because I’ve used so much of it and it rarely broke in a way I couldn’t fix with a soldering iron or some glue and they were a great deal for what I paid for them. From pedals to mixers and preamps, I really liked the products and the low price meant I can just buy, test and modify things to suit and not invest every penny saved. That made it fun. To see the company progress to synths is really awesome, and it means that I can realistically own a lot of awesome gear and while it isn’t exactly cheap, there aren’t too many zeros behind the price. The poly d is on my list, but first the model d... and a few other things
Its a polyphonic minimoog with a juno 60 chorus and a freaking perfect step sequencer..... I can't even express what im feeling right now. This must the perfect synth, the last synth I'll ever need. Thanks Behringer
It sounds more like this is the first synth you can _afford._ The sequencer's clock is jittery, far from perfect. And a phaser would have been 10x more creatively useful on this thing than chorus is.
Behringer is now the Hyundai/Kia of the music industry. Once looked down upon for being cheap, and now beating their competitors in pretty much every aspect. Sometimes the underdog comes out on top. Thanks for keeping the competition honest, Behringer
except in customer service and post warranty servicability. You can still buy parts for 20 year old Moogs can you say the same about behringer products when it comes to service before throwing them away. Nope.
i wouldnt take that story seriously , at the time he allready had fairlight to his disposal wich costed several well endowed cars and probably some coke as extra :)
No kidding. I owned an old V-Amp back in like high school that was terrible and I swore off of them for years. After reading good reviews, I took a chance and I bought a UMC404HD interface a couple years ago that I love. I followed that purchase with a DI box that I also love. Seeing what they're doing with these synths makes me really glad that this company is finally producing products that can help shake of the bad reputation they had for all of those years.
@@AlexAlcyone it's still cheap crap, but crap has been getting better because of manufacturing advancements, some of which came naturally, some of which was done through IP theft and "reverse engineering"
I wonder though, from a legal standpoint, how is Behringer able to clone a lot of the classics from other manufacturers? Do they have a copyright agreement or something? My 1st studio monitor pair were Behringers that looked / sounded like a Genelec (I was very pleased) but a lot cheaper...
Why? Battery costs are why EVs are expensive. Does Behringer have some great new battery tech? Giant battery factories stashed away somewhere to meet the demand of such a product?
Behringer is doing a lovely job with the synths. What would be a GREAT idea for Behringer to do would be to make a new 4 track tape recorder (like tascam porta one) or even an 8 track with EQ and classic VU meters. Everyone is dying to buy used tape recorders nowdays but you must be more than lucky to find a functional one in a reasonable price. No other company is doing this right now. Behringer PLEASE 🙏🙏❤️
I'm starting to think that Behringer was waiting all this years with finished projects for all the patents to ran out and now they're releasing new synth every week! Anyway keep it up guys, absolutely love it!
Bought my 1st synth in the early 70's. Had a choice between the mini moog model D And the ARP odyessey 2. Bought the ARP as my first because it did more. Went on to get the ARP 2600, Roland 6 series, dx7 and others. It's great to be able to now start again the way I wish it was in the beginning! Great work, BEHERINGER!!
@Chuck Juice I just order mine today with a new glass pipe so I should "OSCillate alright.) Jokes apar, I'm on Moog Subsequent 37 which I LOOOVE, yet in my studio rig a synth with 4 voices is a plus, stretching the usage and shrinking the$ £ I will make a difference.
@@crnkmnky WRONG! Most synth demo's are crap because the "artist" can't play anything decent except for some random garbage while pretending to know what he's doing when changing a few knobs and there. I didn't see much women doing synth demo's but the ones I saw suck like the rest. "music" lol always cracks me up when some hipster shows off his gear while pretending he knows what he does while in reality he's just clueless.
@@padmad3k63 "Wrong?" Which part of my statement is contradicted by your boomer rant? The majority of synth demos are by men, and the majority of _crap_ synth demos are still by men. I never intended to claim that women were "better" than men. I just think it's oblivious and lame to blame bad synth demos on "diversity hiring."
There is millions of synths out there yet very few musicians play them or make actual music with them the emphasis is usually on features and capability or types of filters these are very deep instruments could they possibly be to intimidating there are far more synths out there than body s of music created on them does anyone agree and I'm not saying there's not many good synth artist I just don't think there's enough Roger Powell. Jean Micheal jarre and isao tomita my three favorites
Nothing wrong in ending the list with ABBA! haha. They used some amazing production techniques and features some amazing synthesisers in their records.
S. Fields most of the synthesizers they have produced, are based on 40 year old (+/-) models. And they only do so, because the original manufacturers won’t produce new units (besides moog and korg), and because there is plenty of people that want the old gear. The only thing they are killing, are the ridiculous prices on vintage gear.
Yeah, it's official... Behringer is my favourite synth brand right now. First the TD-3 drop, then the Wasp, now this!! Every week is like Christmas. Even though it'll take a year for me to get them I am super excited. This is awesome, thanks team Behringer.
This is more than once a week now. This is getting seriously painful. The real estate cost alone is just insane for places to put the Rick-Wakeman-Style rig 🤣
WillMansell Haha, you caught me looking at analog subtractives! Back to work I go.... new video will be out December 2 btw! The patch is called Future :-)
Dear Madams and Sirs of Behringer, Although I am eternally grateful of these beautiful synths that you are providing us, I am concerned that all of your hard work is not allowing you to make room for other important things in your life...like eating or sleeping. Please do not work yourselves to death, as there is an entire planet of electronic musicians who are counting on you. Thank you.
Comparing this to Roland Boutiques is not fair really. Boutiques are having patch memory, Midi CC parameter control in and out, and they are fully polyphonic within their four note polyphony, unlike this Poly D which is paraphonic.
I picked up the model D last week. Love it!! Next on the list is MonoPoly and the Poly D. Man these are so amazing. My son came in the room and said dad... can I turn a knob?? 😌 why yes you can... thanks Behringer. Keep up the great work. You make dreams affordable.
Geez I'm on my fifth viewing and everything about this synth is dope, even the wooden body! Who would've thought they'd see a sequencer and Juno chorus on a 4-voice, 4-Osc Model D!? This is awesome.
What Behringer did with it's analog collection, in my opinion is game changer. As owner of bunch of synths, old and new, I must say I don't remember when I was so excited as with this new Bheringer stuff. Big thumbs up Behringer! I'm gonna buy them all and waiting for more. Cheers!
At 13:48 I felt in love with these chords, brought me back to my childhood... Thank you so so so much Behringer. All the love to Willich and all the other places where the people work making these things possible.
Behringer are basically becoming the Ford of the music industry. Genuinely quality products at genuinely affordable prices. I've said for bloody years that there seemed to be literally no reason that synths were so stupidly expensive, other than economies of scale. Thank you behringer for finally proving that!
@@notafunc from a product perspective, what is it you don't like? I mean, threatening to sue gearslutz users was a pretty whack thing to do, but I genuinely don't understand why people don't like the products....
Just preordered mine today on Sweetwater, Ive had my eye on this since it was announced, Took a month to save up but Im super excited, it’ll be my very first Analog synth!!!
Certainly not the most versatile of my 9 synths but the one I‘m having the must fun with. Do I miss presets? No! Mostly it takes me longer to find a certain preset than to instantly create the desired sound on the Poly D. Great job, Behringer! BTW: I‘m turning 65 in November and would really like to enjoy the UB-Xa within my lifespan! 😉
This has made me extremely happy and my wallet not so much. Bravo Behringer. You’ve made 2019 an exciting year for synth lovers. Thank you. P.S. make it affordable 😅
When Behringer successfully clones the Yamaha CS-80 , undoubtedly the hardest Instrument they will have to clone , then there's no more to prove. Their legend and legacy will be solidified.
They haven't successfully cloned _any_ synth yet, as none can produce 100% exact behavior. You can say that the differences 'don't matter' but then what do _differences_ mean in the first place?
@@shaft9000 Nothing thats what they mean? If you cannot make music with what you have its time to give the game up! No one in a audience will give two shits what synths being used...
For years, I've stared longingly at all that remains of my ’79 Model D; its’ nameplate. Always with the burning question; Will the day ever come when I can afford another? FINALLY! Only a close facsimile? No problem. Thanks B.Ringer.
The Best Behringer demo to date! This thing sounds and looks amazing. Thanks Behringer for ‘Not’ putting mini keys on this 👍 Sequencer is great. Poly is awesome. Patch memory would of been out of this world, but I’m not complaining,.. this is a winner!
BluffMunkey their plastic pedals still have a bad reputation I'm afraid, shame they haven't passed on the build quality of their synthesizers or mixers to their effects units who knows maybe they will
Yeah I was going to comment on this too. It’s a cool new synth, but it appears to not be an actual polyphonic Model D, but a paraphonic one instead. So it’s technically more comparable with the new Matriarch from Moog. But still, it’s a cool new product.
This is a beautiful synth. Personally I have a preference for Poly D over a genuine Moog. I know it might sound odd but Behringer really did their homework on this one (and most of their reissues). Loving my Behringers! Please feel free to check out some of my Poly D demos if you like. Great job in presenting this beast!
Behringer I hardly comment on modern synth videos because I cannot stand their sound BUT you have created a stunning beautiful sounding poly synth machine and you have my biggest respects!!!! This sounds warm, rich, punchy, fast, analog, beautiful!!!! Behringer you are the Holy Grail of modern analog synths this sound has caught my attention!!! Hope to see an affordable Jupiter 4, Juno 60, Prophet 5, OBXA, Linn LM1, Yamaha RX5 clones soon. Behringer you have earned my respect!
@@cnfuzz you're probably right, I just mean they aren't the Uber plasticy looking ones they have on the model D, they made the thing look super cheap. Apparently the original minimoogs all had Bakelite knobs which were known to break.
Paraphonic or not, i don't care. I wouldn't even mind if it still would be monophonic only. I am absolutely sold (the soldest of sold). You folks at Behringer are on FIRE right now!! :] I nearly bought a regular Behringer Model D but thank god you brought in THIS even better version that is just PERFECT for my needs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
BEHRINGER IS UNSTOPPABLE!!!! I smiled when I saw the preview vid with the 4 d's cos I knew what that meant. And it sounds amazing. And that chorus suits it well.... Nice one guys.
