He's also a videographer, action movie maker, treat taster, house marker, He likes walks at night, is a big fan of the drivethru at the fox kitchen, he request attention late at night when it's cold, assists Dixie in taking her rightful throne, And an all around HeHeHe boy!
My daughter loves foxes and once described them as "cat software running on a dog platform with a raccoon patch and a dolphin sound card." She also introduced me to your channel.
Foxes are not really a cat software. If anyone had a dog, they know that's exactly how dogs behave. Just with more ADHD. But cats are 100% calm and no interactive. Dogs in other hand are very playful. I never seen a single cat in my life behaving like a fox. In other hand, it's exactly how dogs behave. Dogs are more playful and lively/active than cats. Foxes are even more active than that. Definitely anti-cat behavior. Actually people who know cats should see this even more, because no cat would do what fox do. I hate people mislabeling foxes as similar to cats, because they are polar opposite of cats. Like, something exactly opposite.
Little Kai is soo sweet. The little fox cubs have such an innocence about them, and they actually look like a different kind of animal. Thank you for caring for these animals Mikayla. I've always believed that when people care for animals, it inspires others to do the same, wherever they may be.
A positive addition in describing Dixie: I have watched the original *"DixieDo fox runs away with my phone."* Video over 100+ times & will probably watch it many more. Dixie should *_always_* be given credit for bringing in many _(many)_ SaveAFox subscribers.
Nikita: Does not know that gray foxes are supposed to climb trees. Felix: Does not know that red foxes are not supposed to climb trees. Thanks for doing this. It's nice to get an overview of all the foxes from time to time. ^^
I am from Northern Michigan and I spent most of my life outside. I had a vibrant red fox friend who didn't mind patrolling my wood pile for rodents while I split wood. I wanted to name him Cozmo.
Each fox has something uniquely adorable about them. I’m crazy for Finny, Dixiedoo, Vixievoo, and Mutt. But I’m particularly fascinated about Felix. He just stays perched up on that tree and observes all the outdoor goings on at SaveAFox. He’s a bit of a loner.
Naming critters is an art. I have found that if the name ends with a high note, the critter will respond better. Names I have used in the past, Sweet Pea was a cow that would come running when I called her, and Vickie was a Thoroughbred fillie that I imprinted. Vickie had to be near me at all times. I was her safety blanket and everyone that saw us together were jealous of the bond. When it came time to train her to load on a trailer, I held my hand out flat, she put her chin in my hand, and I walked on to the trailer. I didn't grab her chin. She stuck with me like, "Where you go I go".
@@RealMonkeyB Don't mix up age with intelligence. The long you live the more you learn. The only critter I have trained that bugged me was teaching hogs to roll over and play dead, then eating them that Winter hurt.
Can't speak for all animals, but I know when it comes to smaller predators such as cats or foxes the reason they respond better for high note names is because their prey (such as mice) will typically squeak in that range, giving them a bit of an advantage. I've got two cats, and although their names are Cecil and Oscar, they always respond better when we call them "Cec-y" and "Osc-y" haha
I absolutely loved this, particularly how the resident psychopath Waverly got two treats and the others didn't! These foxes are honestly getting me through law school. I will try to donate when I have some money as a thank you, but please know that your videos are doing so much good - for foxes and for humans and their mental health
Same!! 🥰🦊 That's wonderful to hear!! These Foxes are Amazing beings, I love watching them! 🤍❤️ Hopefully Law school is going well for You! Best of luck!!
I Love foxes they are beautiful 😍 thanks for update they are beautiful. The other night my husband & I walked past a field a fox was watching us a few feet away. I was so relaxed just watching us. Peace Love thank you for your excellent work.
I love the new baby Kai, cant wait to see him and Fawzi playing. Also a rare Felix sighting. Don't know why but Felix has a spot in my heart, never knew foxes could live in trees.
@vr9v8ry8vyd yeah, faux fur exists!! The only “furfarms” I support are American animal ranches (idk what other places are good, but I live in the us and most ranches here are very humane) edit: the ranches wait until the animal dies of a natural cause and then harvest the pelt.
@@lolitisjustme Faux Fur is often used in winter attire to help keep warmer and add softness to your coat, can't think of much else it's used for except maybe plush (or blanket, dog beds) making?
Thank you for all you do for these adorable and amazing foxes. They touch my heart. Blessings to you and your team for helping them live a happy life. ❤
When you started with Finn, a smile broke from my face and my day got better instantly. I love Finn so much that I had to go back to his part of the introduction many times before finishing the rest of the video. Thank you, Mikayla.
I hate this kind of crap, it is a wild animal! If you have too much love and have no where to spend, try your husband, your parents, your children, relatives, and people around you. Do you love them properly?
@@zenterxkagae622 They're only invasive in areas they're not native to, they're generally considered pests not invasive or ecosystem destroying lol They generally stay away from people (unless fed smh) so eating pets isn't something they commonly do (unless you let your pet wonder off at night and it's roughly cat sized or smaller). They do however pose problems to farmers when it comes to livestock which makes a lot of sense! You actually have to be careful about killing coyotes as just going around killing them willynilly can actually cause their numbers to go up in the area (so if you're trying to keep them away from an area you may wanna take care of the ones in that area in a more planned out way).
@@zenterxkagae622 Any animal indigenous to the area is NOT invasive. They were here before any of us. I’m Lenni Lenape and all Native Americans learned how to live in a world with them, rather easily I might add.
That was the best and most captivating fun video I have every watched on RU-vid. So amazing how everyone of the foxes is so individualized with personality. I had no idea that the foxes talk and they have so many communications of fifty. Would it not be fun to figure that all out and get a good idea of what they are saying. Amazing work you are doing!🎸
You know since Jade is a Gemstone, Shy Girl could get a similarly beautiful Name. How do you feel about "Pearl" as a name? Not only are they the birthstone for June, but pearls symbolize wisdom, longevity, and purity. Tahitian Pearls in particular have a lovely gray color, often with inclusions of purple or green.
Pearls are called "gemstones" but the are the product of a living creature, therefore not a "stone" as diamonds, rubies, opals, emeralds etc are. So, perhaps "Ruby" or "Sapphire" would be more appropriate for the newest member and as a better match for the name "Jade".
It’s amazing knowing people like you and Ethan exist. I’m sure it’s a lot of hard work behind the scenes but gosh darn it they just so darn cute! Thanks for sharing!
I do love them all and had forgotten how much I love each and every one of them, but the Dixie Do is my favorite ultimately. She is just so pretty and her personality so perfect. If I was to draw the perfect fox she would be it!
This lady could be the best person for bank heists in the world. Her high pitched voice would be able to tear solid metal and burst open even the strongest safe
As a member of the generation responsible for the mess the world is in I'd just like to say thank you and God Bless. The world needs young folks like you more than ever.
I don’t know how old you are but most of the damage was done before the 1980s . Pittsburgh used to have the streetlights on in the daytime when all the steel mills were here because of the air pollution. The river by my house was orange and nothing could live in it . What we have been doing is working. Don’t believe everything you see on the news. I drove by thousands of solar panels where they clear cut the area to make room . Lithium mining is horrible for the environment and so is the disposal of lithium batteries. There is a better way but none of our current politicians care about figuring it out . Both sides have an agenda and it’s all BS
You know you've watched a lot of SaveAFox content when you instantly say "Oh, that's Felix!", as soon as you see a fox high up in a tree. Precious climbing boi
Dear Mikayla, Ethan, Meryl & SAF volunteers, thank you for being earth angels to these beautiful foxes. I remember finding SAF during the pandemic, saw videos of Finn & Dixie playfully laughing, you & the foxes made me smile & excited to see more videos, the goofy ones (Dixie stealing your phone or sitting on your head), the sad ones (RIP Mouse), Pan & Sophie's rescues, Felix up a tree, & lots more. Thank you! My favorite though would still be Finn, Dixie, Mutt, Felix & Pan bc of his having broken legs due his long captivity as a kit. Always 🙏 for your good health & safety, & all the foxes under your care 💗🦊❤️
I love your foxes!!! You’d mentioned Finnegan loves to pee in the house… there are doggie diapers for him. I use them on my big dog when he’s peeing around. They wrap around the waist area (not covering the butt)…. Just have to make sure and wash them out a lot… but they have been a savior in my house. Lol I got them on Amazon 🐾🙏🏼
I love the fact that this beautiful lady and Finnegan are the two souls that actually made this channel grow like crazy, so that they can provide for every fox now and in the future! Fin should be a celebrity in the Fox world as he is in the human one!!
Mutt is my favorite! When you got to him, I smiled so hard that my face hurts now. I really have no idea why he's my favorite, since so many of them are such characters. And this video introduced me to a few I had not heard about, which was a nice surprise. I have watched nearly all your RU-vid videos, but don't do social media in other forms, so I know I've missed things. I truly wish I had funds I could spare for you and all that all of you do, but I simply don't. I'm sure that must be true for lots of others, too. You do such wonderful work, not just for the foxes, but for all of us who get joy from both them and all that you do for them, and from the fun, sweet, informative content you share with all of us. My life is happier because of Save a Fox!
Just by watching the video and letting the ads play helps SAF, they get a percentage of the ads watched. Also liking and commenting helps boost the videos with YTs algorithm.
I still crack up thinking about the video where mikayla woke Dixie up from her nap. The alien gurgles and “what are you going to be for Halloween… MEAN?!?!” 😂
I must say your foundation is most impressive and well organized. My father was a Canadian biologist for 15yrs...got to see a number of wild animals, animals confiscated at the border, and rescue animals. While timber wolves are pack mentality and more doglike, foxes are definitely more catlike...a NOCTURNAL cat.😊
Poor, sweet little Kai. My heart breaks thinking of the other foxes that had to stay at that horrendous place. I’m glad Kai will have a good life at least. Thank you for what you do for these sweet animals.
This was the loveliest, most enjoyable, AND fascinating video I've seen in a long time! I had no idea there were so many variants of foxes, or that they came in so many colours. And, like cats, they each have their unique & individual personalities! When I saw your enclosure/garden, I thought "What an amazing place for foxes to live, play and explore!" You really are giving these beautiful little creatures the best life possible...what a wonderful person you must be (and also so pretty!). My only regret is that, financially, things are tight with me at the moment. If I had the funds, I would gladly send you a bucket of money, to help with the incredible work you are doing there! I only discovered you today, by chance, but I'll work my way through all your videos...keep up the great work! x
it's about time that your Whitehouse invited you up! amazing job girl! years ago, in a former life I took photos inside a fur farm In the UK for a UK group who used evidence to have them closed. they are such gorgeous creatures . long may you continue. big hugs and respect from Suffolk, England. xxxx
Once upon a time, there was an old man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach every morning before he began his work. Early one morning, he was walking along the shore after a big storm had passed and found the vast beach littered with starfish as far as the eye could see, stretching in both directions. Off in the distance, the old man noticed a small boy approaching. As the boy walked, he paused every so often and as he grew closer, the man could see that he was occasionally bending down to pick up an object and throw it into the sea. The boy came closer still and the man called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?” The young boy paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up onto the beach and they can’t return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When the sun gets high, they will die, unless I throw them back into the water.” The old man replied, “But there must be tens of thousands of starfish on this beach. I’m afraid you won’t really be able to make much of a difference.” The boy bent down, picked up yet another starfish and threw it as far as he could into the ocean. Then he turned, smiled and said, “It made a difference to that one!” adapted
So many types of fox, beautiful animals. As an Englishman who (like most people) absolutely hates fox hunting and those that do it it makes me happy to see people looking after foxes and treating them with the respect they deserve ❤️
Anyone else ever got a thought: "that's me being out of feeling miserable" and then you realize that the reason is ongoing, like a gift you got last time you were awake, feeling better cuz it's your day off instead of what you'd be doing at this moment... Or just being able to watch some RU-vid stuff and there's these people, hearts of gold... Taking care of the cutest things I've seen all week... Just saying, insomnia ain't done with ruining my 56 hours long day, but it's good, I'm smiling. It's the little joyful moments, gotta cherish them. Rambling over.
Your a great couple, both involved and in love with animals, yes mainly foxes, but obviously in love with the wild. You have made a fantastic life and home for yourselves, rescuing foxes at your home. I’m very impressed and glad there are good people like you in the world. I love your videos and how you interact with them. It’s great seeing human interaction with wild animals.
I always enjoy your videos ! We had a female red tail fox raise 7 kits this year in my wood pile that's covered ! That only happened once before about 8 years ago ! & that was only five then , I really enjoy watching them play when they are young ! I've only seen the mom , & 3 of 7 young ones lately . Thanks for the video.
All of them are so nice and socialable, except for Dimika then I wonder why Dimika is so shy :P I just still cannot believe that some people with their good conscience can treat these beautiful animals bad.
Finny the laughing fox!😂😂😂 I've been following you one or two years, not really sure, and Finnegan the fox has me cracking up every time as if it were the first! He's lovely and so funny. All of them are beutiful anyway, you're so blessed, and so are them for having you, so much love towards your way and your beutiful little laughing canines!!! 👍🏻🖤🏴☠️
I love the introductions and little facts about them. Even with this I still forget every single fox name! Apppaaart from Finnegan because he's a very good boy
Yes, dear Mikayla, we all do enjoy your videos! Actually not only help you the foxes but you help us to smile and have a good day! Thanks so much for what you do for the animals....and for us. Love from Italy!!!!
I haven't been by in a while, and forgot how much joy there is in your videos. This fox intro is wonderful, as I revisited some familiar 'tails', and got to meet some new ones. These foxes are sooo lucky to be with you at SaveAFox.
Fun to "meet" them one by one! Such different personalities and looks! I must've missed something a while back, for we don't get to see Dakota coyote anymore. He was one of my very favorites. I sure hope he's still alive and thriving… somewhere?
Apparently one of their neighbors doesn’t like coyotes and really antagonized them over having him. So they don’t include him in videos much anymore. Although he made a brief cameo in the RC car video!
@@StellaSirius23 :( I'm upset about that. Like come on, at least give us an update and if he was moved for his safety than you can literally show him to us now or tell us who has him so we can follow them
This channel is a balm to my soul. All the foxes and their unique personalities and Mikayla with her compassionate heart that knows no bounds, always raises me up just a bit more, and fills me with such hope and goodness. Thank you SAF!!! ❤❤❤
I love these foxes. They are so darn cute! You do a great job with all of them. Thank you for taking such good care of these animals. You are all angels!!!
OMG, I love them ALL! 🥰❤❤ I can't pick out a favorite because they are all beautiful foxes! Kai looks so sweet and adorable! 💘💘 Foxes are my favorite animals. How can you not LOVE Finnegan! ❤❤❤ He's a sweetie! I wish I could take s trip up there and pet every one of them. Thank you Mikaela, Ethan and everyone there at Saveafox for everything you do for these beautiful animals!
Loved Loved loved this video!!! Seeing everyone at once and a fun fact just reminds us how precious each fox is and of the great work you have done with your sanctuary. Thank you so much!🥰🦊🦊💕
I love these Animal Sanctuaries and what they do for these Wonderful Animals!! 🥰🥰 ThankYou!! Ever since I discovered SaveAFox I've developed a Special place in my heart for Sophie, Pan, Jack, Waverly, Emmie, Serafina, Nikita and Dimika, Luka, Jagger Nebraska Fox, Cerby Cerberus, and Kipper!!!! 🤍🦊❤️
