I bought the S5k and I'm waiting for the Firmware update so I can have more fps options with reduced resolution like you promised. Oh my god and now you guys release S2.5k? I don't understand what your intention is.
Why is this company and awesome camera not known well in the filmmaking world? Just hearing of them? Even if they target a niche market that's not a reason to be so OBSCURED. Is it that there's no version targeting the general market? Or they are over priced? Even that is not a reason. Arris are expensive, Red are expensive, Some Blackmagic cams are expensive also? SO what's the issue here? I'm interested. This is too good to be under the bed.
Compared to Red and Arri, these are a bargain. Compared to Blackmagic, these are price similar to the latest of upper range of cameras, the new 12K Cine Camera. Most of BMD's are well under the price of this one, but are also aimed at different uses. Looks like most of the clients will be scientific or industrial, followed by Sports TV, the colours certainly seemed to match broadcast.
Put a log curve in the camera rather than these display-referred color profiles (rec709, HLGish) and colorists and VFX will love you! There's literally no reason not to and I'll happily design the log curve for you if you need a hand.
They lost all credibility and industrial clients (windows 7 users) when they said "getting started all you need the latest apple products". Good luck with your tik tok camera.
Apple routinely drop customer support and change the connections used, so their customers have to update to new products,.... but Cinema, TV, Scientific, Industrial and more clients will use a Camera for a decade or more, and lenses for the same or for much longer in TV and Cinema. Locking the customers in to a secondary platform that might not be supported for the life of the primary product,.. it's a mistake.
Bullshit, the iPhone is the only device that still runs my dji Ronin 1 app. On Android it worked on 2 devices until the next update. Focus on Apple make perfect sense
since 80% phones r android.. "lets only support apple devices" 🤡 u can also see they r designing the camera on windows, but no windows app 🤡 even though 80% computer runs windows
@@WoodedMicrobe9 I’m sure support for android is coming down the line. There’s only so much these smaller companies can do when launching a new product.
The simple answer is there is too much fragmentation with the myriad of Android devices. Potentially hundreds of screen sizes that designing the UI can't always account for, different processors and varying performance with that, and those are just two of the other issues. Freefly clearly knows about android but like MANY app developers, as much as people want to complain about apples walled garden, they know exactly what they're going to get, a stable platform that will run on ALL modern apple iOS devices made in the last 3-5 years. I feel like this far into the iOS and Android discussion, 10+ years now, this shouldn't need to be explained anymore.
