Hello! We live in Japan with two Asian Small-Clawed Otters.
Kotaro: Male, DOB 11/10/2017
Kotaro has a scar on his tail from being bitten by another otter when he was still a baby.
Hana: Female, DOB 11/24/2018
They have been toilet trained; they use a special pad that is designed for small dogs.
Since I'm using a translation function, my sentences might come out strange.
Please provide me with corrections if anything is translated improperly.

Kotaro is kinda OCD about a lot of things, especially his kibble ritual. Sign of high intelligence? Absolutely. Sign of insanity (as is common with Professors, in my experience)? Also yes.

The only time I have been able to tell who is who is at meal time. Hana eats at the speed of light while kotaro savors his. I also love the way kotaro eats his cat food. One wet one dry one wet one dry. So funny!

I agree, he has so many unique abilities, easy for a human to identify with and be mystified at!! I first met Kotaro when he and Hana visited with Captain Aty and Otterman, and when I saw his face he reminded me of Musashi as played by the actor in the tv series...I feel lucky I got to see it as I'm in the US, so Kotaro is easier than some for me to recognize right away. And I'm just in love with him and Hana too!!! PS I love the music with these two special Otters!

５０万人登録おめでとうございます。コタハナマニアの自分から二人の見分け方を一つ。コタローの頭には二本の角の様な毛が生えてます。上からのショットで二人を見分けにくい場合はぜひ参考にして下さい。但し、水の中でワチャワチャされると流石の自分も見分けづらいですね。

We had wild Otters in a natural fed water spring lake on our property in central Florida. I'd be working on the property yard and they'd kind of sneak up on me for a quick inspection of what was I doing then back to the water. Always so fun to watch! These 2 are lucky !

Kotaro is so special...I Love the way you categorized his personality traits. It is quite unique seeing him similar to having a dog. Watching him interact with the dogs at the park was awesome! It is wonderful how they can be potty trained too. I would love to hang out with him.
