Hearing Rocky complain about the government & talk about his winning lawsuits against them while enjoying an ALR just made it taste that much better! 🤝
not any other channel on youtube that is as classy as your channel in the cigar world. everyone else is super hyper and energetic like kids in college. This is the true depiction of the lifestyle and swagger. thanks again Maz, your the goat.
@@charliecompton1209Yea i have, but im talking specifically about American channels, those guys in europe act like they never took a poop that stinks, Like they try too hard, similar stereotypical wine dudes. and they don’t try anything outside of their comfort zone, it’s all davidoffs and cuban cigars, i’d love to see them indulge in some padrons and Aj fernandez
Please, please continue to do the interview series. I thoroughly enjoy hearing a little bit of the story behind the manufacturers, the cigars, the families. I'm a sucker for a good story! Keep it up!
I had the pleasure of meeting Rocky over the summer at private event held by my local cigar shop. Not only does he make fantastic cigars, he's also a class act!
I have the privilege to work with Maz. His knowledge and palate is just unbelievable! Every day I work with him I learn something new. Unbelievably generous and kind man. He is the best boss I have ever worked for and Holt’s is by far the best company I have EVER worked with. Meeting Rocky, and other titans in the industry is honor.
I wish I had a fraction of the class and smoothness of these gentlemen. I’ve learned so much but know I have much more to learn. Thank you making a common working man feel like he belongs when smoking a cigar.
I literally stopped everything I was doing and turned this on to watch. You cannot go wrong with everything in Rock Patel's Portfolio. Picking one cigar to love is like picking your favorite kid. Love the 60's ....so does my wife. the Disciple, and the Royal. But I have a box of 50's and 55's waiting for a day above 50 degrees. Soon, I hope. The Burn lounge in OKC is a great place to chill and smoke a great cigar. Opps! Boss is coming. Back to work ! ! LOL ....
This episode was so fantastic I started off with Rocky Patel cigars so to everyone who watches this channel and supports this channel talk care and Godspeed 🤩
Rock is a class act. Years ago met him at an early Cigar Aficionado Big Smoke. Couldn't have been nicer. Took time to talk and thanked me for supporting RP cigars.
Cigars are awesome! They let relatively poor middle class people enjoy a true luxury. I'll never own a mansion, drive a Ferrari, travel to Fiji, own a yacht, spend a $1000 on a bottle of whiskey, wear a $5000 suit or check the time on a $1000 watch... But I can smoke a luxury cigar! I can live without all those things... But boy is it nice to cut and light a flavor bomb!
This is what we like to hear: taking a big gamble to get in to cigars, while everyone says it won't work. Hard work, learning the trade, blending his own cigars, naming a company after himself, that's commitment and dedication.
I'm literally dropping the video to join Cigar Rights of America RIGHT NOW. Add it to the list of other organizations that we Unfortunately need to support to keep liberal politicians from trampling our rights and freedoms.
Great interview 👍.. I have met Rocky many times over the years at events in NYC.. He always came across as genuine, driven and passionate..His work ethic is unreal, he's like a machine talking to everyone, getting feedback on his products..doing selfe's with customers..you name it.
Met Rocky in 1999 RTDA show in Vegas. It was a busy time for the industry, but he got me a pass ( had a cigar lounge in Tokyo). No one had much time for me ( understandably), but Rocky sat down with me and we talked cigars. Nothing happened, but his generosity will always be appreciated.
Smoked my first cigar summer 2021. Rocky Patel Nick’s Cigar World 10th Anniversary. Bought at Nick’s in North Myrtle Beach. Been loving premium cigars ever since.
Rocky Patal seems like a very down to earth guy, thank you. I am new to cigar smoking and have been leaning towards Rocky Patal often. I smoke Vintage 1999, Vintage 2003 Camroon and the Sun Grown. Also agree about the government meddling, would love to see more Cigar smoking lounges (in Canada).
Hands down, the best cigar channel on youtube as many have said. Have been waiting for this sitdown for a long time. RP makes some of the finest cigars in the industry. Impeccable construction, quality, flavour profile and attention to detail.
Two of the classiest guys in the industry. Great video. The cigar industry wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for people like Rocky Patel, Mazz and the Levin family at Holts. Thanks for pouring your hearts and souls into this industry and making it what it is today.
The industry would not exist if it weren't for enthusiasts like yourself who are just as passionate as the blenders behind all your favorite cigars. Thank you for being part of a growing community 👊❤
I have smoked hundreds of Rocky Patel cigars over the years and can honestly say I've never had a bad one and never an issue with quality control. Very few companions can even compete let alone compare
First cigar I had just a few weeks ago was a Rocky Patel the edge A-10 and I love it. Now I’ve got a humidor and I’ve started my collection. And it all started with him.
I really enjoyed this interview! Very inspiring story, thank you Anthony for inviting Rocky Patel! I was in Tampa last week and wanted to have a nice cigar after a day of fun during my vacation, I’ve visited a local cigar lounge and picked up The Edge Maduro from Rocky Patel. That was a well rounded cigar!
New to cigars and I've naturally drifted towards "big names" that are recognisable outside of the niche of cigar collectors. This guy totally had me captured, from his depth of knowledge on tobacco, to his knowledge surrounding business and regulation. Smart dude. I've got a few Rocky Patel's on their way to me now as a result.
That Highland Park Dark Origins is amazing! Still have a closed bottle an open one I’m savoring. Loved the interview, always interesting to hear from passionate people who love their trade.
I had a Vintage 99 last night as my Cigar for the week. Holt's always does this. When I buy a Decade, you review Decade. When I have a RP, you interview RP. It's hilarious at this point lol.
Great episode, great to see Rocky Patel the man's a legend, so many great Cigars under his brand, at the moment I love his budget cigar 'Seed to Smoke' beautiful smoke, staple in my humidor👌👌
Excellent video. Rocky has so much passion in the way he speaks about blending tobacco. And who knew he was so based. I've only had the RP Mulligans Master Collection, but it was a damn good cigar. I can't wait to enjoy more of the lineup 💯
Wonderful interview. Rocky is such a legend and comes across as a real gentleman. He is spot on with his take on the european cigar situation, I am from the UK and, as a keen cigar enthusiast, the uk taxation has all but priced me out of my beloved cigar hobby. My favourite cigar a Romeo wide Churchill is now fifty pounds a stick and a D4 over thirty pounds. I just cannot justify that kind of money. I am definitely moving to smaller sticks and trying new world cigars going forward. Thank you for a great interview guys.
Hey great interview, I'm watching from Australia...down here cigars have gotten really expensive over the last few years, but i can afford a couple of Rocky Patel's. For some reason they are on average a little cheaper than any other premium brand yet have the same quality. I've tried all the junior range (sun grown's the best i reckon) and I really like the CSWC Mareva. 😉
Excellent interview. Thank you, Rocky, for making my favorite cigar of all time, the delicious, savory, and consistently fabulous Sun Grown Robusto. Oh how I love that cigar!
Met him a cigar shop in Clovis California about 15 years ago..nicest down to earth person you could ever meet .he knew how to have fun ,was engaging with everyone.and was a total hit with the ladles ..im going out on a limb and gonna say that one of his "hobbies"is definitely the ladies.
I’m smoking Rocky Patel for life because they’re great cigars and I’ve loved everything I’ve watched like this and his documentary. Very cool guy. To hear he’s also fighting the corruption just puts him on another level with me. Governments worldwide are corrupt criminal theives. Colorado just started imposing 50% excise tax on premium cigars, set to rise to 67%. They know cigars have virtually none of the risks of cigarettes, but they will use any excuse they can to steal your money, control your life, and tell you it’s for your safety. As for the top Rocky Cigars… the 1990 and 1999 are perfect cigars. Amazing that the 1990 was his first. As for the 1999, I like it more than the white label because there’s more spice and flavor but still as smooth and creamy. I agree on the ALR, but have yet to try the 60.
I really enjoy these , it’s a dream of mine to enter the cigar industry either in the retail or the manufacturing side someday and these give great insight into the industry. Love you guys and keep them coming.
I’ve always been and will always be a Havana Cigar smoker. However with that being said there are some unbelievably phenomenal New World Cigars being produced. Davidoff, Fuente, Padron, Rocky Patel, Foundation and Plasencia just to name a few. Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic are producing some amazing Cigars. While Habanos will always be my favourite I definitely enjoying trying different New World Cigars. I’m smoking a Rocky Patel A.L.R Second Edition Toro right now. A truly amazing Cigar.
I recently got into cigars and Rocky Patel is one of my favorites so far. I've only tried their 2006 vintage San Andreas one, but I have couple other ones in my humidor waiting to be lit up.
When I go to my local brick and mortar they have a walk-in humidor. I grab 1 of my all time favs (Don Penín Blue Label) and 1 I’ve never tried. This week is RP 20th anniversary. Then I see if this channel has any info on my new cigar. Keep up the great content!
Anthony, I really enjoy all of Holt's content, interviews, and of course all the cigar reviews! RP is one of my favorite cigar company's on the market! The EDGE series and the Decade as well as the 6th and 12th anniversary are some of my favs! Keep pumping out the great content! Regards, Mitch
