By harmonizing exhaust sound using principles of music theory, Borla brings a new world of driving excitement to the streets, tracks and trails.
More Information: www.borla.com/...
Imagine many voices harmonizing together in a choir. When the right notes are sung together, an ethereal effect is created with dramatically more depth than a single voice. Pipe organs have done this for hundreds of years, using combinations of varying pipe diameters and lengths to form powerful chords. This technology caught the attention of our VP of Sales & Marketing David Borla, whose many years composing and performing in the music industry included a record contract with Sony. David worked with our R&D team to apply organ pipe mathematics to exhaust applications. The exciting result is the Borla Polyphonic Exhaust Harmonizer, which is now featured in select Borla exhaust systems.
These patent-pending units contain pipes of different diameters and lengths to create multiple exhaust notes that harmonize to deliver a clean, rich, full-bodied sound to the Borla mufflers. The mufflers then enhance this sound to the character and volume appropriate for our Touring, S-Type and ATAK® systems.
The limitless combination of pipe diameters and lengths allows Borla to tune each application so that the best notes and harmonics of specific engines are highlighted.
Thanks to the straight-through design of the Harmonizers, Borla customers get the ultimate in tuned exhaust sound with zero loss in performance.

Polyphonic is surely something special. I currently own a Borla S-type with this type of technology applied. It’s in my 2017 Ford Fusion Sport, which to my knowledge was one of the earlier vehicles to apply this technology outside more premium brands. A very niche vehicle to even design it for, but boy was it worth every penny. Sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Borla himself but his legacy will continue! 😇

Totally had me geekin' out over here. I spent months researching different exhausts and as soon as I heard Borla ATAK I KNEW that was the perfect exhaust for my Challenger. "LOUD BUT GOOD" ! 🇺🇸🙉

I just can't agree more about this video. After spending month in research for the "best" sounding catback exhaust for my Subaru STI 2013 (with no drone). The Borla Atak catback was THE perfect choice. Thank so much, will never regret it.

This was a v good edit which paced the video excellently. This is some Interesting technology, and it's neat that you guys are looking to tailor exhaust systems to not only specific cars but the owner as well. Looking forward to seeing what you guys can do with these pipes. Borla is changing the game. Vanguard af.

The length of the foot does not affect the pipe's pitch, so organ builders vary the foot lengths of their flue pipes depending on other factors, including the desired shape of the pipes in the façade, the height of the rackboard in which the pipes are seated, and the weight of the completed pipe. Meaning the statement @ 1:30 is incorrect. You MUST have a blockage inside your pipe to create an Oragan pipe. You literally have 4 1.5 inch pipes on a 3 inch pipe. there isn't anything happening besides back pressure and turbulence near the muffler. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flue_pipe Construction category.

I love how you guys incorporate music into this. Do the borla atak crate mufflers have any sort of packing material in them or are they hollow cases?

have (im sure yall have) you guy ever experimented with how different materials might affect exhaust note? like if you were to construct the mufflers internals using brass or bronze tubeing what effect if any it might have on overall sound quality

Will this pipe eliminate GMs AFM drone if placed behind the primary muffler with both flappers removed?

Do you have a model specific for a Nissan Fuga 450 GT V8? Blown away by your video here as I have been researching exhaust systems for my V8 which is currently stock standard. I was just joking about being a Music Producer and that I was wanting a specific sound for my car. I have looked at Flowmaster, Magnaflow which have merit. I do love the sound of your Pro xs series mufflers. Do you think a polyphonic fitted along with a Pro xs series either side of my twins would be a sweet thing? I believe there are 4 factory cats and flow into one pipe and back to twin with long resonators either side then up to factory Nissan Mufflers then out the rear. Appreciate if you could reply as I am keen as!

Hi! Unfortunately, we don't sell our Polyphonic Harmonizers as a separate component or part. Sorry about that! They are included in select exhaust systems.

So I know most of these are "tuned" but will borla offer a universal polyphonic "insert" for custom applications.

Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we do not currently plan to offer a universal Polyphonic product. Sorry about that.

I came here from searching for auto-exhaust powered pipe organ. On a car. With a little keyboard in the dash. Has it been done?

I see you guys make an exhaust for the 9th gen base model Civics but nothing for the Si. Would love to hear what an Si Borla catback would sound like. Would really be interested in one of these new Polyphonic Harmonizer catback exhaust but I think that'll be asking too much.

exatly my opinion too. i loathe the typical 3" direct empty noisy sound every sportscar owner seems to love. i can not understand why they like it that much. my total impression of the car drops to zero, when i hear that stupid noise... maserati has made some cars with polyfonic exhaust - now that sounds encredible. my supra mk3 automatic has to sound like that when i am done with it😎 hope to get some clues here🎷
