This video introduces the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network, which aims to enhance national adaptation planning and action in developing countries through coordination of bilateral support and in-country actors
The Network is already doing good work. However, what is also needed a strategic vision with its integrated social and ecological value system similar to the Earth charter and a global planning approach that place the challenge of avoiding a looming climate catastrophe and advancing climate-resilient development central. An example of such strategic vision is presented in Verhagen 2012 "The Tierra Solution: Resolving the climate crisis through monetary transformation" where the conceptual, institutional, ethical and strategic dimensions of such carbon-based international monetary system are discussed and which are updated in www.timun.net. The possibility of such strategic vision are described by Bill McKibben in May 17, 2011 in the following way: “The further into the global warming area we go, the more physics and politics narrows our possible paths of action. Here’s a very cogent and well-argued account of one of the remaining possibilities.”
