Would love to see a Beretta 92 magwell. Because it was used by police and military groups around the world, there's a whole lot of those mags out there and they pretty much start at 15 rounds, and go up from there. (though, as I'm sure you already know, 15 is the most common magazine size for Beretta 92/93 by a very healthy margin.) "Does it take Beretta mags?" is what people used to ask before everyone started asking "Yeah, but does it take glock mags?" As I still have my Beretta 92, I'd love to have a few PCCs to pair it with (besides the Cx4 Storm anyway).

@@HoffmanTactical Don't know if you were driven to the spring steel for a specific tensile strength requirement that you couldn't get from mild or non-ferrous (I am guessing you just picked it because it is strong and available in the thinner sections you require). If you don't need the tensile strength of the high carbon steel (assuming 1075 or 1095), shim stock is available in 1018 and non-ferrous, both of those metals would be easy to work with tin snips and a file. More importantly, any bending required will be MUCH easier.
@HoffmanTactical
@HoffmanTactical 11 месяцев назад
@@JOEDHIGGINS I need to look into the shim stock some more. 1075 was the only steel I could get in the right thickness from the laser shop. Needs to be strong, but not 1075 strong. I'm annealing it as it is.
@JOEDHIGGINS
@JOEDHIGGINS 11 месяцев назад
@@HoffmanTactical Not sure on your thickness, but if you do it in a standard sheet metal thickness, you can probably get it done in 1018/1008. And if someone wants to DIY it, it will be much easier, as it will be workable with tin snips/files/etc. I am guessing mild steel would work the best and 24ga (~.024 in thick) and thicker should all be commonly available in 1008.

In terms of magazines I would go with whatever is cost effective to buy into and reliable. Most likely if youre looking to get an AR9, you dont have a bunch of large capacity handgun magazines lying around already because the only reasonable use they have is for AR9s and other like pistol caliber carbines. By designing the lower around a cheaper mag will make it easier for the beginner and enthusiast alike to get.

@HoffmanTactical I do not personally know as I don't have experience with large capacity 9mm magazines. It is more of a general reccomendation on my part. With a small bit of further research it appears that other companies do make knock off glock magazines for a very affordable price. So sticking with glock is a good idea given the aftermarket variety and choice for those who want a lower barrier to entry.
