This is a review of OWC's latest Atlas Pro CFExpress Type A Gen 4 memory card, which doubles the performance of the previous generation cards. In my testing, it works well in the most demanding Sony camera, the A7RV, at 60 MP. I tested this with various still and video tests, and the card performs flawlessly. Here are the main advantages of this card.
1. Price per Gigabyte, the first mainstream one from a well-known company, coming in at 66 Cents / GB, an unheard-of value for CFExpress Type A
2. The new cards double the read and write speed of the previous generation, something cameras might not be able to take advantage of yet, but your computer sure can. What you get is faster download speed.
3. The ability to use OWC Innergize software with it.
Find out more about what I think of this card in the review.

I was about to upgrade my Slot 1 cards with 256GB OWC Ultra SD (was using Sony M) but after looking at the prices I saw CFexpress prices dropping lower then I saw these! I don't need the size but the download speed is what I am really excited about plus I feel safe if I upgrade to the 60mp Sony cameras later down the road... These cards paired with the OWC Ultra SD cards will be the best dual card set up for sure if you have one slot CFE & one SD... I also like the idea of user firmware upgrades. When I bought my A7IV bodies 4 of my Sandisk and 3 of my Sony G cards would not work! I had to mail them in and get replacements. It took WEEKS! Hopefully FW upgrades will be swift if there's ever a problem...

Hey Art, what do you think about the new Wise Advanced type A cards? It's rated for 400 VPG, and only slightly more expensive than the OWC.

I saw that, I am usually skeptical of new brands. The nice thing about OWC is they stand by their product.

Art, do you know if the Innergize software will test other brands card health in the type B format? (Prograde or Delkin).

It will only work on OWC card, this is one of those where everything has to play together, the card/controller itself has to support this feature, the card reader needs a chip that support this feature for the software to work.
