Exactly what I wanted to say, I get why it’s verticale. Since it’s your first video. But I would film horizontally for the coming videos. Still love the story and will definitely keep following. And I understand that the videos will stay vertical till the yt videos have caught up with the instagram. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I’m hoping by editing on my laptop I’ll be able to get my edits up a lot faster 🙌🏼 Thank you for the suggestion, I’ve made sure to film everything in landscape since deciding to get on RU-vid too. There will be a few more portrait videos while I get through the content I’ve already filmed, please bear with me.
Thank you. I’ve started filming horizontally but I’ve got a bit of content to get through which is vertical. Hopefully it isn’t too painful to watch, I’m sorry 😂
The heater is extremely rare. Your control in the cabin has two levels - air and one especially for the heater so was an added extra. Most didnt have this. The GT tank is also extremely rare and suggests it was rallied or a factory fit on B cars. This must be retained rather than be replaced and adds value and rarity. But it will be rusty inside so needs to go off to be treated by a specialist who can coat them inside or your carbs will quickly die. I dont think your sister broke the boot mechanism - the cable likely snapped. Slate grey is an unusual colour as well. I notice too your mirrors are also very rare. The reason the bonnet front rusts is water collects in the seam underneath and eats it from the inside, leaving the bottom panel intact. This can be repaired and that shape is very hard to fit so dont swop it for a replacement if you can help it.
In case you want it I think that you can get a Kardex from Porsche Club Great Britain which would give you specs and often original owners name. If not, I have a source who lives in Canada.
Unfortunately you can't anymore because of data protection. I think I've got their contact but can't face paying CAD $200 for a piece of paper which might not have anything on it....😂
I wouldn’t say I really wanted to but unfortunately to make her structural again and to do it properly it was just part of the process 😭 I’ll be keeping her patina with the rest of her “hardware” 🙌🏼
Hello, Lawrence! I love your Porsche! The foot operated switch is for your headlights. One click is high beams, another for low beams. It's the same switch that most European manufacturers relocated to the turn signal stalk in the later 60s'. Buy the Robert Bentley factory manuals on your Porsche for information as well as restoration. It's a worthy investment.
Hi Andrew, thank you! It was actually definitely for the window wiper squirters; there was a pipe to it from the squirter bottle and a little "bladder" but I do know some of the older minis used to have foot operated high beam. The high beam control on Trouble is on the indicator stalk. I'll definitely check out that book, thank you for the recommendation.
@@thestoryoftrouble You are never too old to learn. I was drawing on my experience with 1960s' and earlier American cars and trucks. I like that your family is involved with helping you restore Trouble. Keep on making memories, as they say!
Very true! I actually thought it was also a foot operated light switch for quite some time until I did some research and eventually took it off 😂 I've never come across a foot operated squirter and a MANUAL one 😂 What American cars/trucks have you worked on? Thank you!
Good for you young man and sister! Another option, is to fix the rust, clear coat the patina and leave the body alone. Fix up the mechanical and then not worry about driving it - door dings, rock chips, etc. cheers!
Thank you! I would have loved to have done this but the only real way to see how bad the rust was, was to take her completely back to bare metal removing all her paint and under seal. It was just as well we did as there were places that looked solid which definitely weren’t 😳 I will be keeping lots of her mechanical patina though 🙌🏼
I actually love the vertical format! It’s great to watch on my iPad in HD. Do what works best for you! Either way I’ve very jealous and excited to see your journey 🙌🏾 ⚡️. Don’t quit 😅!
Hi Chad, thank you for the comment! I originally never planned to make the RU-vid and just filmed for social media platforms like Instagram. I’ve since started filming in landscape so eventually the content will change. Thank you for your kind words and support!
FYI, the motor panel release pull cable knob is behind the driver’s seat on the side wall. You can see it on the right as you tilt the front seat back forward. Best of luck restoring. Can’t wait to see the process and you two driving. Cheers!!
The pull knob would pull but the panel wouldn’t release 😭 I eventually managed to reach up into the engine bay and open the lid manually 🙌🏼 Thank you! I’m so excited for the day we can drive her out the garage 🔥
Thank you! Since deciding to make a RU-vid I’ve started filming horizontally but I’ve got a bit of content to get through which is vertical/portrait. Hopefully it isn’t too painful to watch, I’m sorry 😂
Nice one! Keep it up. I look forward to the next upload. I was wondering what body colour you were going to choose, and this video answered it. Slate grey - classic!
