Sony ZV-E1 is an interchangeable-lens vlog camera with a high-performance 35mm full-frame image sensor. Positioned at the top of Sony’s Vlog camera series, it gives creative vloggers who want to deliver the highest quality content all the advantages of Sony’s most advanced technology. What I liked most about the ZV1 was it being a compact pocket camera with a lot of potential, at a great price. You could sneak it into concerts / places that didn't allow use of "professional" type cameras that had detachable lenses. For the price of this, you may as well get an A7 series Sony.

Personally, I didn't expect to see so many photography's oriented comments complaining about a camera that is clearly designed for video acquisition. Guys, it's literally almost half the price of FX3 and a quarter the price of FX6 (while still retaining the same sensor as those two cameras). Also, the A7 Series are mostly hybrids/photos oriented cameras from the A1, A9, A7, A7r, and A7c with the only exception of A7s line.

If you need a small size camera why don't you use smartphone? No company will ever make a point and shoot camera like zv-1 anymore. Because smartphone cameras are now so improved that it performing almost equally like zv-1.

If you're not bringing most of those features to my FX3 i can not justify buying another Sony camera. If you’re not changing the way how you handle Firmware updates on your „older“ cameras I’m out! And you know many people think that way! Pretty much every Camera-RU-vidr is saying the same thing. It's almost a Firmware Gate! I’m Already kinda waiting for the new Panasonic S1H II or whatever it’s gonna be called.This camera is gonna be a "game changer" now that Panasonic offers very reliable auto focus. There is pretty much no reason to go Sony anymore except if you’re filming only in low light.. But who does that really?

@@limaargenton apparently a multimillion international company knows better than you what makes people buy their stuff and if the mild frustration is offset by all the upgrades, that are forced onto the customer. Its almost as if you have 0 idea how to maximise profits and speak from the point of view of a consumer, who does not like being forced into hardware upgrades but will upgrade anyways because he is already locked into the system.

I realy don't know why they switched the location of the cable inputs to be on the same side as the screen preview. On the original ZV1, the cables were on the left side (when the camera is facing the Vlogger), and the preview monitor screen opens to the right. now they moved it to the Right, and the Monitor screen opens to the right, and if I'm using it for Streaming, the cables (USB-C, Micro-HDMI, Microphone) would come in the way of the preview (to check for battery status per example)...

There's no prores in this model. There's not even the ability to properly use an external recorder not so much for hardware shortcomings, but because Sony, the Lord of image sensors, didn't include the 16bit raw hdmi output in this model on purpose. This is really annoying, and I think it's about time to show the disappointment and hold against this scorn.

@@gurugamer8632 The A7S has a functioning HDMI 16 bit raw output. You can connect an external recorder like the Atomos Ninja to it. As for my current favourite mirrorless, I would say Sony ZV-E10, no Prores and no HDMI raw, but it is bearable since it's way cheaper than the ZV-E1. I also have a Raspberry Pi HQ Camera Module equipped with C-Mount lenses which is really good for some kind of shots. I find interesting the Fujifilm H family, which features a cooler as an accessory and it is packed with video features. Blackmagic Pocket is also interesting. I'm not a fan of the GH6's sensor, yet I find it more interesting than this ZV-E1. Please note that there are mirrorless from Sony with a price tag just under 5000$ which are lacking raw hdmi output, namely the A7 IV and the A7R IV. As we approach 5 digit, there is the alpha 1 which has everything.

Firmware support for our higher end cameras is lacking, I also have an A1 and am sorely disappointed. that lower end cameras are getting all the best features. Sony is now acting like Canon did when they were on top of the DSLR world. I see a new migration coming

The sad thing about all this new technology that Sony is piece mealing into these new cameras means that the consumer will never get a masterpiece of a camera like the Sony a7iii again. That camera changed the game and forced Canon and Nikon to step up their games and provide more value to their loyalists to stem the tide of them becoming Sony converts. I would love to have some of the newer technology but incremental improvements are a no for me. That doesn’t mean I am waiting but it means that I might not buy another new camera for a couple of years until all these improvements become standard. 😢😢😢😢

Hi Sony we love you but… we want to give you our perspective: Sony zv e1 looks a great body but the problem is on the lenses you offer for this camera and specifically for the content creators. You make the perfect body but we will ended with a very bulky full frame lens… or the 28-60mm that is not wide enought. I don’t understand why Sony doesn’t make the new rx100viii… really compact and real beast… and also I don’t understand why sony always do cameras for content creators not enought wide. It is very simple to understand we need a 16-55 mm range. Mobiles are ready for vloggers, they understood the game. Just put a camera on the market with same fix lenses than mobile, same stabilization than gopro, same image quality than sony and thats all that we need (ummm and also compact as an rx) TIA

@@David_Schwarz_DOP nun diese Kamera ist zwar toll aber leider Konkurrenziert sony sich selbst viel zu stark.mit dem release der 7rm5 ist die 9er serie und fast auch die a1 unverkäuflich da zu Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht mehr passt. Was ich meine ist das wir täglich kunden haben die eine rx 100 oder rx 10 suchen.und da muss ich sagen kam seit ewig nicht inovatives mehr... Also wie wäre es z.b. mit einer rx 10 zoom range 12-400mm und eine Variante 35-1800mm oder so...? Dann die rx 100 mit neuestem sensor und Auto Fokus so wie jetzt bei der a7rm5 solche Dinge suchen die Konsumenten und nicht noch eine vlogger Kamera die nur dummis kaufen die sich gerne selbtverwirklichen wollen im ego sozial media pool. Sorry das war jetzt etwas zu ehrlich aber ich finde den oberen teil doch sehr wichtig für all die Foto begeistere die diese art kameras sich wünschen.was denkst du darüber?

It's the right decision. Zv1 is small and compact (main reason why i bought it) and video quality is great. Been using it for 2 years now and still loving it. Easy to bring anywhere and don't have to think about changing lenses.
